00:00Jay Carper here from American Torah. Surprisingly, I'm still in chapter one of Charlie Kirk's book,
00:08Stop in the Name of God. Once again, I'll put a link to that book on Amazon in the comments,
00:14or in the video description. I'm only on page 16. After chapter one, I'll skip through quite a bit
00:25more because there's a lot of stuff that's not directly relevant to the Sabbath. I want to read
00:31this most of about two paragraphs here. Remarkably, this structure, the seven-day week, has persisted
00:38through millennia across cultures and civilizations without anchoring itself in astronomy like the day,
00:43month, or year. There is no planetary cycle that demands a seven-day rhythm, and yet it prevails.
00:49Why? Because it speaks not to the mechanics of the universe, but to its meaning. It aligns not with
00:54the stars, but with the soul. The human spirit, body, and society thrive under this cadence.
01:00Work finds purpose when it moves toward rest. Rest finds holiness when it reflects the Creator's own
01:05pause. Let me pause right there. There are a lot of reasons that people don't want to keep
01:13the seventh-day Sabbath, and a lot of justifications that people have for keeping some other day as the
01:19Sabbath. Some people want to follow the cycles of the moon to determine when the Sabbath is, or
01:25I don't know. I'm sure there are other schemes, too. And they justify that using Genesis chapter one,
01:35where it says that God put the moon and the stars and things up in the sky to govern the seasons,
01:41and etc. But what Charlie Kirk here is pointing out, or part of it, is that the Sabbath is something a
01:51little different. It's not part of the regular rhythm of the planets and the stars. It's part of God's
02:00rhythm of creation instead. You know, the moon and the sun and the stars, these things govern
02:07the cycle of days and months and seasons. So they're kind of, in a way, under the authority.
02:14I mean, those times and seasons, those are, in a way, under the authority of these heavenly bodies.
02:21The Sabbath isn't like that. It's not governed by any of these cycles. It is only governed by the cycle
02:27of God himself. The Sabbath is a special day set apart for God's purposes, quite apart from any natural
02:35cycles. It is, keeping the Sabbath is an acknowledgement of God's sovereignty, like I pointed out in my
02:43previous video. And that's why it's not tied to the phases of the moon like the Babylonians used to do.
02:50It's not tied to our man-made calendars. It's God's calendar. It's his. It's his day. And he made it for
03:01our benefit. But it belongs to him, and we keep it in his honor. Let me read this next paragraph.
03:08This is man's rebellion against the Sabbath. Throughout history, human beings have not only
03:13attempted to govern nations and remake economies, but to reorder time itself. Nowhere is this more
03:19evident than in the recurring attempts by secular, revolutionary, or totalitarian regimes to erase
03:25or reshape the seven-day week, a cycle instituted not by empire or philosophy, but by divine ordinance.
03:34Like I said, the Sabbath belongs to God, not man. We don't get to change it in our own image.
03:38We don't get to declare ownership of it. We don't get to declare our own Sabbath day.
03:43We keep God's Sabbath in honor of God's name.
03:49There is a biblical precedence, though, for claiming ownership over times and seasons and for man
03:57being able to rearrange things. I mean, even the times and seasons that God put in order
04:01for his own purposes, there is biblical precedence for changing them based on the whims or preferences
04:10of man. Let me read that to you from Daniel chapter 7, starting in verse 23.
04:23Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from
04:28all the other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, trample it, and break it in pieces.
04:32The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise from this kingdom, and another shall rise after them.
04:38He shall be different from the first ones, and shall subdue three kings.
04:42He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High,
04:47and shall intend to change times and law.
04:51The saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half-time.
04:59I'm not going to try to pretend to understand all of the creatures and horns and kings in the book of Daniel.
05:05But clearly, this ruler is an Antichrist type.
05:13He is a pattern for all Antichrists.
05:16He claims ownership over God's creation so that he can change the times and the laws that God set down.
05:24Only the Antichrist claims to do that.
05:26Christ, Yeshua, Jesus, he came to fulfill the commandments, which means to keep them and to teach them,
05:34not to do away with them, not to cancel them out, not to do them so that we don't have to.
05:39All of that is exactly the opposite of what he said he came to do.
05:43The true Messiah keeps the commandments and honors the Sabbath, which is what Jesus did throughout his entire ministry.
05:50The Antichrist, the Antichrist, the Antichrist, wants to change God's laws, throw them out,
05:56change God's rhythm of time, his seasons, his specific day of the week.
06:03Which side of that do you want to be on?
06:05I have had people in Europe or other places tell me,
06:10well, on our calendar, Sunday is the seventh day of the week.
06:14Really?
06:15Look at your calendar closely.
06:18It might be printed so that Sunday is the seventh day in the order of the little blocks on the calendar.
06:24Read the names of the days of the week.
06:27For example, the Russian calendar.
06:29Since the atheists took over that country and decided to change the Sabbath,
06:32they tried to get rid of the Sabbath.
06:34They actually tried to get rid of the seven-day week and couldn't make it stick.
06:38But they couldn't make the names, they couldn't change the names of the days of the week either.
06:45So if you look at the days for Saturday and Sunday,
06:48even though Sunday is in the seventh block on that weekly calendar,
06:51it's called Voskrisenye.
06:54Saturday, even though it's on the sixth block, is called Subota, Sabbath.
07:00Even on the Russian calendar created by atheist communists,
07:05they still see that the Sabbath, Saturday, is the seventh day of the week.
07:12This is Jay Carper from American Torah.
07:14Keep the Sabbath.
