00:00:00hey everyone and welcome back to the spotlight i have a video i want to share with you guys
00:00:15so let's do it i know a lot of people that are doing better than me but none of them got there
00:00:20without a bumpy road the road to better it's bumpy so if you're on a bumpy road i'm telling
00:00:28you you're headed to better there's some things that god created you for that you had some delays
00:00:33and some setbacks and some mistakes and some mishaps and god wants you to come back to the
00:00:38place that there's gonna be a nice shift jacob has told his sons you will not defeat the famine
00:00:48looking at each other did you hear what i'm saying watch watch how jacob handles the famine
00:00:55because my first point is the famine and until you can deal with the famine you will never get
00:01:02to better because the famine is a part of your journey how you react to the famine determines
00:01:08whether you make it to the food you you've got to be aggressive you can't just pray against the
00:01:15famine you've got to do something jacob says you can't just pray against it you can't just look at
00:01:20each other you can't stay in the same spot and do the same things that you've always done and expect
00:01:25to get a different result because we're in a famine and you've got to take action and we don't understand
00:01:30that today we don't understand the human requirement in the miracles of god as much as we have read about
00:01:37the miracles of god we walk away with praise to god but absolve ourselves of human responsibility as if god
00:01:44were going to act outside of human effort when god has created us to be collaborative in the miraculous
00:01:51oh i'm talking already he wants us to be collaborative in the miraculous that we have a responsibility to
00:01:57take action and to be aggressive about resolving issues just because you're spiritual doesn't mean
00:02:02you get to pray for a job and stay at home i'm just gonna pray if the lord wants me to have the job
00:02:10he'll give me a job i'm just gonna watch tv and hit the remote control and believe god for better
00:02:15you'll never get the better if you don't get on the road you gotta you gotta you gotta get on the road
00:02:20in the middle of famine they're traveling in the middle of a famine now if traveling is not fun
00:02:24anytime but traveling in the middle of a famine is a very difficult time because the famine is so severe
00:02:29that jacob says if you don't move you're going to die now i don't know who i'm talking to tonight but
00:02:35there are some pressures that come so strong that if you don't move you're going to die how could
00:02:39you let me die and i'm a child of god you didn't move i told you to move and when god tells you to
00:02:45move you got to move and don't act like god has failed you when you have failed to move
00:02:52when god says move you have to take action whether you're the prodigal son who came to himself but he
00:02:57still had to go home or whether you're the woman with the issue of blood who believed that jesus could
00:03:02heal her but she still had to crawl or whether you're blind by the man standing by the highway side
00:03:06begging he still had to come out of his coat and go toward jesus there is a human responsibility
00:03:11in spite of the famine so you got to move in the middle of a famine in the middle of a need in the
00:03:17middle of a storm in the middle of a crisis and he sends his voice to go from canaan to egypt because
00:03:22jacob heard where there was food don't hate on people who have even when you don't have
00:03:28what does that do anything don't hate on people what is that called it's a distraction
00:03:41because he didn't hate on egypt he said i'm going to egypt see we sit back and hate on people as if
00:03:46them having nothing to do with the scripture actually show us the scripture
00:03:51is our demise when it's not them having that is our enemy it's us not moving that is our enemy and
00:04:00the bible says that though they didn't have any coin they had money uh yeah and people don't quote it
00:04:06too much but the bible also says says that money is the answer to all things it's the answer to all
00:04:10things if it's a thing money can buy it there are there are some issues that cannot be resolved by
00:04:16things but money answereth all things so jacob told the boys he gave them some money and said go
00:04:22down to egypt and don't go down there begging we came down here to do business yeah yeah we're
00:04:28spiritual people but we know how to do business uh we we praise jehovah but we still know how to do
00:04:33business oh y'all not saying nothing to me tonight see you the church has failed its parishioners
00:04:38because we have been real heavy on the praise and real light on the business so we told them to praise
00:04:44your way out there's there's nothing more important than praising god okay
00:04:53so that lets you know right there it's not the holy spirit
00:04:59that's your way out it spin around three times and you're going to come out and
00:05:02sow a seed and you're going to get out but we don't tell them that you've got that the blessings are
00:05:06transactional that there's a business element required in it and we got to go back and lay
00:05:11some foundation to understand that jacob does not go down to egypt to beg he goes down there to do
00:05:16business and he sends his sons down there to do business but wait a minute you you have to realize
00:05:21as we begin to talk about the famine we have to understand that the famine is so severe that it
00:05:27pushes them to egypt now the second thing i want you to see about the famine is that god will use a
00:05:32famine to move you it doesn't have to be a famine for food it can be a famine for love
00:05:38it could be a famine for peace but in everybody's life listening at me whether online or in the room
00:05:43you have experienced some kind of famine the famine of fatherhood the famine of family the
00:05:48famine of a mother's affection the famine of a good job the famine of a nice house all of us have our
00:05:53famines you might not be able to see see what he's talking about is someone who's not saved
00:05:58i'm saved so what i'm getting what i need from the lord because i keep my eyes on him i'm obedient so
00:06:07no i don't have a famine for what he's talking about why because god's taking care of me yeah because we
00:06:14might dress nice and spray cologne over top of it but all of us live with some level of famine in our
00:06:19no no we don't see that's a lie that's the life in that demon
00:06:27who is he talking to lukewarm those taking their eyes off god
00:06:33they don't want to believe that he's a false prophet so they're going to watch him and stand
00:06:36underneath him instead of sitting at the foot of the lord they're going to set the foot under
00:06:40some false prophet and he's going to say this is why you have famine i don't have no family what you're
00:06:44talking about
00:06:53and when they did come back they brought lots of food back so what you're talking about
00:07:02god takes care of me do i have to go to the store to go get it yeah
00:07:09so so what
00:07:14so famine makes you pray and famine makes you seek god god doesn't need famine for me to see god or
00:07:21me get get hurt or be abused or be in pain or get fired or be homeless for me to praise him
00:07:32if it's the will of god it's the will that's going to happen regardless
00:07:35like job he gave it all back to joe why because god can do it
00:07:44god knows his heart his heart is not in the word of god
00:07:49job's heart you'll never know what's in there
00:07:55just like his heart false prophet false teacher not called by god
00:08:00okay wolf and sheep clothing
00:08:09don't let you do it for a little while be a distraction he's going to point you out call you
00:08:12out take a seat because i'm not having any kind of i can't even say the word what do you say
00:08:21and famine makes you cry out and famine i'm not having any famine in my life will make you move and
00:08:27oftentimes god will use famine as an instrument to force you out of your comfort zone it is more
00:08:33comfortable to stay in canaan but the famine will drive you out it'll make you move it'll make you get
00:08:38outside of your that's just an excuse so why are you going through something because you're sitting
00:08:41under a false prophet it's an excuse this is why you're lonely and by yourself why because it's because
00:08:46god wants you to be no no no it's satan that's why god called his angels into himself including satan
00:08:56and said where have you been i've been in the earth back and forth have you tried my servant joe did god
00:09:03do it no satan did it god removed the hedge of protection why because he can because why he knows
00:09:10joe's heart is any man more righteous than god no
00:09:27zone it'll make you travel it'll put you on the road somebody say i'm on the road i'm not on the road
00:09:32for a field trip i'm not on the road joy riding i'm on the road to better i'm on the road to better
00:09:37there's something i'm after there's something i want to see done in my lifetime and i'm tired of
00:09:41sitting around assessing the same old troubles and crying about the same old problems and going
00:09:45through the same old things i'm tired of complaining one to another back and forth oh ain't it bad yeah
00:09:50child it's real bad it's so bad i've got to move from here deliver me from people who will not take
00:09:55action in the famine and god says action is required on you you got to get on the road and that's
00:10:02anytime you can't rebuke it with a prayer anytime you bleed the blood and it doesn't go away anytime
00:10:07you call on god and it still stays there that god is using the famine as an instrument to move you from
00:10:13one place some people they do they pray to god but they have a demon with them why they repent for
00:10:20their sins they're still they're still sinning so i'm not getting what i want you have a demon with you
00:10:26you repent for false prophecy watch the false prophets you're sitting underneath the false prophet going
00:10:29to church every sunday wednesday and friday but you're sitting under a false prophet listening to
00:10:33him with that demon and you're not getting the truth you're getting lies plus you're not going to
00:10:39god have a relationship yourself you think you can be saved through your preacher pastor or teacher but
00:10:42you cannot so you have to have a relationship with the lord your own relationship that's why he says i
00:10:48don't know you you're not saved and you pass away and he says i did not know you it's because you
00:10:54don't have a relationship with him it's simple as that i don't have a relationship with you i don't know you
00:10:59that's what that means you don't want to hear that do you why because you don't know him if you
00:11:06don't have relationship with him some of you you are safe safe safe safe sanctified for the holy spirit
00:11:11but some of you you know you could have been watching these people that's on the channel and
00:11:16you're like seeing the patterns god's revealing so you can't watch them and you have to make a choice
00:11:21you have to say lord please give me for watching false prophets false prophecies and false prophets
00:11:27i repent i will listen to you lord
00:11:33be obedient say i love you lord i accept you lord i believe in my heart and confess in my mouth that
00:11:40you are lord jesus of my life do it your own way and god will remove the demons and then you can see
00:11:48that that's not for you that person's not for you they tell you lies and god will show you clarity
00:11:52and who you can watch he will show you what preacher is called by him what pastor
00:11:58to the other if it was the devil i could rebuke it if it were demonic warfare i could overcome it but
00:12:03when god sends a famine to make you move it is something in his providence that cannot be performed
00:12:09where you are and you've got to move in order to get it and god knows that some of us won't move if we're
00:12:14too comfortable oh y'all are gonna talk to me tonight and so god uses the famine to force them to move and
00:12:22they go down to egypt to do business now it is interesting to note that though there is a famine
00:12:27in canaan there is also a but they were prepared for the famine so you're a liar god gave the king
00:12:34a vision joseph interpreted from the holy spirit so god prepared him so why would god send something
00:12:42they're not prepared for because god is good all the time
00:12:48stop lying false teacher false prophet
00:12:54it's there what you need just gotta walk over and go get it it's gonna be there if it's for me
00:12:59nothing will come between it and it was there for them why
00:13:05because his baby who got protected and gave him the interpretation and the wisdom
00:13:14to store up enough so tell me where this is going
00:13:18in this family so my second point deals with the family you have to understand that this text brings
00:13:23out subtly ever so subtly in the text that i want to point it out to you first thing that it tells us
00:13:29about jacob is that jacob sent his sons down to egypt to buy but then it mentions that he did not send
00:13:34benjamin unless he fall into mission and this is just a hidden subtle reminder that that jacob doesn't
00:13:41totally trust his own sons now he's insinuating he's trying to add character um he's trying to what
00:13:51what is it called he's trying to do like the other false teachers do they try to
00:13:56put their own story around this they're trying to add and take away which is a sin you can't tell me
00:14:01how he felt about that they try to tell you what they were thinking feeling what like a false prophet
00:14:07you can't tell me how and what he felt he did it because he wanted to
00:14:13does the bible say all this stuff no he's adding to the word where did this this distrust come up
00:14:18in the culture of this family this distrust comes up into the culture of the family and you can act like
00:14:24you don't know what i'm talking about but all of us have different little things that we know
00:14:27why are you talking about culture why because it's a demon that's why who cares i'm here to talk
00:14:32about the lord i'm gonna get closer to him but he's not talking about that he wants to talk about
00:14:36the world and culture and you know he lost his son already so he can't say it's that he can't say oh
00:14:42because he lost his son before he just wants to keep him close to him no he don't want to say that
00:14:48he want to make it seem like he has something special and new why because he's a false teacher
00:14:52if i was talking with a demon sit down shut up it's the word of work in your life because what you're
00:14:56saying is not the truth it's not the truth it's not from the word you're adding to it for what for
00:15:01attention so you seem special seems set apart but you are because you have a demon repent right now
00:15:06you're not allowed to add to the word take away our family that that when when cousin so-and-so comes
00:15:13over you kind of look at them out the corner of your eye because because you've been through some
00:15:16things where you why why why are you doing this why are you adding this to it why the words enough
00:15:25you don't expect the lord our god enough to say the words enough
00:15:28kind of add this to it see because it doesn't respect the lord doesn't love him if you love the
00:15:33lord you love the word and that's what he put in there he didn't put and let me tell you why he
00:15:41didn't want him to go that's not in there this is your own demon giving you these stories that you can
00:15:48add so that you can put your own on the word we don't need it it's trash
00:15:53we don't need your extra story character building this ain't the chosen trying to do some kind of
00:16:04character building and why and all that be quiet learn something and this culture has risen up in
00:16:10the family that the family is not fruitful and canaan is not fruit lies just a liar
00:16:21and there is not the comfortable loving environment of trust that would cause the family to be a
00:16:25nurturing place because jacob remembers what happened to joseph the last time jacob sent one of his sons out
00:16:33with the rest of the sons he turned up missing and there's a residue of this trust in the old man
00:16:38with his sons and he says i'm going to keep benjamin now the reason he's holding on to benjamin
00:16:43and he let the rest of them go is that joseph and benjamin were born to him by rachel and rachel was
00:16:49the love of his life and the reason he's holding on to benjamin is because that's all he's got left
00:16:55of rachel and he says if i lose benjamin i lose all i have left of the best days in my life and sometimes
00:17:02we hold on to things because we've been through so much pain that we become possessive oh y'all
00:17:09don't hear what i'm saying there's a reason you hold on to what you hold on so let's see where this
00:17:13goes off a cliff you know why because it's not going to change anything in your life that's why
00:17:20a teacher from god the holy spirit is going to teach you something that's going to help you in your life
00:17:24whether it's money or people or things there's a reason you hold on to there's a reason that certain
00:17:33things make you mad there's a reason that you overreact in certain ways there's a reason that
00:17:37if we hit certain false points you respond differently than other people because until
00:17:42you understand what i've been through back here you won't understand why nobody cared that he
00:17:47that he kept him behind so who cares does that part uh intricate is that an important part no the
00:17:57important part was that they were going to go see their brother see he's trying to shine light on
00:18:01something that is so small it's not a big deal we know that we know that but it's like okay how's that
00:18:08pertaining to me in my life it doesn't he's just trying to highlight something like he's found something
00:18:12new in the word the word doesn't need any help it's fine the story he don't want to do that
00:18:17this right here what do you hold on to because of what you've been through
00:18:23what do you hold on to because of what you've been through for jacob the old man is holding on
00:18:28to the last smell of rachel the smell of her okay when he holds benjamin it's the last reminder
00:18:35of a happier moment in his life and he is so afraid of losing benjamin because rachel the barren
00:18:43woman has birthed two sons unto him and one of them jacob thinks is dead and benjamin is all he got
00:18:51left anytime you think this is all you got left you will hold on real tight okay whether it is true or
00:18:59not you will hold on real tight if you think that this is the last person that will ever love you
00:19:05you will take stuff that you wouldn't normally take you will go through things you wouldn't normally go
00:19:11through and your girlfriends will tell you if i was you i wouldn't take that and your mama told you you
00:19:15need to get away from there but you keep holding on to it because you've been hurt before and anytime
00:19:20you've been hurt before you hold on to something when you think you won't get anymore i wonder tonight
00:19:24how many people are holding on to some sort of benjamin in your life holding on to it out of fear not
00:19:30out of love he's not clutching him out of love he's clutching him out of fear
00:19:37is that gonna get you saved no repent repent for false teaching false prophecy not called by god
00:19:43is that this is exactly why he's focused on why he's holding on to his son anybody would do that
00:19:47people feel that way but how is that affecting them in a bad way it's not it's just a natural human
00:19:53reaction you just want to protect them but what does that have to do with he's trying to say something's
00:19:58wrong with that but of course you shouldn't hold on to anything that's toxic his son's not toxic
00:20:02so stop it he's trying to make it seem like something's wrong with it why because it's evil
00:20:08he's trying to pervert it like look what he's doing he's holding on to him what
00:20:15if you had two children something happened to one child you're gonna of course you're going to
00:20:19hold on to the other child but does that make it bad no you didn't hear anything bad happen between
00:20:24father and son like you see him say you're holding on too tighter you need to let me go you didn't
00:20:29hear anything like that so he's like making up this story why because it's evil careful what fear will
00:20:36make you do and i'm looking at it jacob is an old man and the older you get the more precious everything
00:20:43becomes and and jacob is holding on to benjamin no he's not and he's saying he's not he i'm like he
00:20:50holding on to him in a toxic way or being controlling but he's not joseph is not and now simeon is not
00:21:02you ain't taking my benjamin i'm wondering what you're squeezing too tight
00:21:11what are you squeezing out of fear yeah but you shouldn't have fear with the holy spirit see fear
00:21:17and the holy spirit can't dwell in the same place see the holy spirit is not gonna let me have fear
00:21:24over what what can happen when god gives me peace as soon as my mind thinks of oh danger the holy
00:21:29spirit says i'm with you fear goes away everything's fine god can me be in fear when i have the lord
00:21:40our god as my god he takes care of everything in my life
00:21:43so he's like because of fear okay where's this going see jacob isn't squeezing benjamin out of faith
00:21:53he's squeezing him out of fear he's squeezing him like it's the last thing he's going to ever get
00:22:00no he's not you you you can't grow when you squeeze something like it's the last thing you're
00:22:05gonna ever get even if it's squeezing money like it's the last you'll ever get then you have prophesied
00:22:12against yourself you have used faith in reverse fear is faith in reverse to have confidence that
00:22:20that thing that you don't want is going to happen to you he's holding the boy out of fear and god is
00:22:27manipulating all of these circumstances to bring this family back together he is wooing them back to a place
00:22:34so he can heal them and wouldn't it be better to be healed and to be mad
00:22:43and jacob somebody's mad if i lose who's mad who's mad when they're going to egypt nobody
00:22:53let me quote it just like he said and he said my son shall not go down with you
00:22:56for his brother is dead and he is left alone and if mischief befall him by the way see see how jacob
00:23:05is still in a place where he don't trust them they're his children and he don't trust them and he has
00:23:12good reason not to trust them we don't know if he don't trust them we don't know that part he's just
00:23:19saying that he doesn't want anything to happen to him he didn't say he didn't trust them he said you're
00:23:25not going to get him let's mischief befall him by the way into which he go he says if i go through
00:23:31with benjamin what i went through with joseph your my gray hairs are going to turn into sorrow and bring
00:23:37me to the grave see you get to a point in life that you've reached an age that you can't take no more pain
00:23:44and he says i can't afford to live through this again and god is really behind it all trying to
00:23:55pry benjamin out of jacob's hands because what jacob doesn't understand yes the road's been bumpy and yes
00:24:04the road's been tough and yes the road's been difficult and yes you've shed some tears and yes
00:24:09you've endured some pain but it is the bumpy road to better it is the bumpy road to better i don't i
00:24:25don't i know a lot of people that are doing better than me and i have more stuff and more money and
00:24:30more recognition and more fame and more whatever just because you see
00:24:34you see that something happened like with joseph taken as a slave because of his brother sold sold
00:24:45him just because we don't see the full picture doesn't mean that it's going to happen to you
00:24:53meaning that something horrible happened but see what god was doing was he was really doing what he was
00:24:59preparing for the famine there was a famine coming so god's a way ahead of us
00:25:11so he knew that he loved jacob so he took care of jacob through his son
00:25:21through the brothers who sold him and through this entryway
00:25:31this is the only way he can get in to that jail interpret those dreams and be called by the king
00:25:39become placed there and be over the famine
00:25:44so he's looking at that part as though you're holding on too tight doesn't matter because everybody
00:25:54be dead if joseph wasn't there it wouldn't matter the story be over because the famine
00:26:03so god looks at things that way they all be dead with the famine coming
00:26:07but god gets the glory because him being able to interpret the dream that god gave the king
00:26:18it set everybody up that they were taking care of in the end so to focus on
00:26:26him holding on to him and what you hold on to forget that
00:26:29what he let go of and what he cried over and what he
00:26:39thought that his son was gone forever actually saved their lives in their generations
00:26:47so what are you talking about instead of looking at what god did to save their lives by taking joseph
00:26:52joseph through this path to save everyone
00:27:01because he has a relationship with him he told him in his own
00:27:06dream that he was going to be bowed to by all his brothers so he was preparing him for he was taking him
00:27:13not just that jacob has to let go of benjamin but that he already done the he didn't have to do anything
00:27:22because god was in god's hands from the first place because god
00:27:27allowed the brothers to be jealous and sell him only so god can get the glory and save everyone from the famine
00:27:35because god thinks god is above our thoughts he's the truth there's a famine coming
00:27:40i love jacob i love joseph so i'm gonna bring joseph through
00:27:49and he's going to listen to me
00:27:54and he's going to have them ready for the famine not about this because it's not giving god the
00:27:59glory talking about holding on to something so what
00:28:03measurement didn't mind he loved his father they all love him so you make it seem like something's
00:28:08wrong with it that he wanted him to stay behind with him when all of the other ones were leaving
00:28:13so what he wanted one to stay behind so i want to count it by the knee but none of them that i know
00:28:19have got there without a bumpy road the road how bumpy is it that there's a famine and we can all go to
00:28:28egypt and go get some corn
00:28:30get some wheat that's not hard at all you know why because without joseph being there it wouldn't be
00:28:38no wheat to get so what are you talking about god save them it's bumpy so if you're on a bumpy road
00:28:48i'm telling you you're headed to better no no they were on the bumpy road now you may say well he his son
00:28:59you know he thought that joseph died okay people die people do die people live and then they die
00:29:07but as far as an over there starving that didn't happen and guess what he didn't die
00:29:12that's how god gets the glory so when is he gonna start giving god the glory joseph didn't die so god
00:29:18knows he's crying for no reason because he knows he alive so stop it once you give god the glory
00:29:23no god you know it made it look like that way because of what they did they thought that he would
00:29:30die and so they just wanted him to be gone they sold him but he didn't die yeah he cried as though he
00:29:37died he felt like he died but you know he the proof so that he died for the blood on the jacket but
00:29:43he didn't die though so what are you talking about because god save everybody
00:29:48so what what are you saying
00:29:57do you hear the words that are coming out of my mouth you can't get the better without bumping
00:30:03you can't get the better without pain that's a lie
00:30:07if you're going through hard times since you have demons with you
00:30:10because with god is smooth
00:30:17it's the truth
00:30:20they say well i've been saying this and that and things are bumpy something's wrong
00:30:26because holy spirit can't be with demons
00:30:31so if you're having some kind of issues or something like that you need to go pray to the
00:30:34lord and ask for forgiveness and you should be rebuking satan daily if you're not rebuking
00:30:38satan he's just sitting there talking to you all day you got some problems because that shouldn't
00:30:41be happening you should be rebuking satan all day every day
00:30:50so it's time my old life get bumpy no don't not over here don't god takes care of me he can take
00:30:54care of you too you have to rebuke satan all day and run back to the lord daily get the better without
00:30:59tears you can't be all buff if you don't work out you can't lose weight if you don't push the food
00:31:04away you can't get the better without bumpy there is no pill you can take there is no simple solution
00:31:09it is yes it is it's called be obedient see how god's ahead of him it's called be obedient
00:31:15i don't have to go through those problems because god takes care of me what's the point
00:31:18of being saved if i'm still going through problems like sinners you a liar
00:31:26there's a big difference
00:31:27when you're sinning you have a whole bunch of problems a whole bunch of demons
00:31:37when you're saved the father everything runs smooth
00:31:42there's nothing going on behind the scenes everything's good everything is great he takes
00:31:47care of me he prepares me for what's to come i know i'm fully stocked you take care of me
00:31:51so you're a liar ain't no bumps and all that stuff you're talking about
00:31:58this is the road that leads you to better ultimately jacob will end up so what is he
00:32:02saying you gotta do a sacrifice but guess what he didn't sacrifice because he's alive
00:32:07get it so it's like yeah you think he's gone but he's not
00:32:13he's alive and well and doing very well
00:32:18they thought they got rid of him
00:32:21but what they meant for bad god turned into a good thing because god does good
00:32:27he does good he is good oh to egypt and when when joseph sees his father
00:32:40when joseph sees his father all of these years he's been living without the touch of his father
00:32:48and all of a sudden he reveals himself
00:32:55and he shows him who he is the bible says that one day those who rejected jesus are going to look
00:33:02on him whom they have pierced and a nation shall be saved in a day this day in the life of joseph is a
00:33:11prophetic prediction of what will happen between jesus and israel when all of a sudden they will look
00:33:18look on him whom they have pierced and finally recognize he was the messiah he is the lamb of god
00:33:27he is the i am he is the true vine he is the living bread he is the manna that came down out of heaven
00:33:36he is it wasn't a lie it wasn't a joke it wasn't a fallacy and the family will be reunited again and
00:33:42all of a sudden they beheld him whom they had thrown away and they fell down and said oh joseph and
