00:00:00Sir Martin Gordon-Parks and Tam McManus are with me here. We're sponsored by Cameron Commercial
00:00:04Vehicles. If you want to get yourself a quality or used van for your business then why not go
00:00:11on to the website Sean German. He'll help you get exactly what you need for your business.
00:00:17Quality vans, new and used, all there for you. Well, we've got a lot to talk about. Scottish
00:00:23Cup weekend. We'll get the thoughts of the guys and Tam is eventually along with Parsi going to
00:00:28tell us who they think is going to win the lead now that the transfer window has closed
00:00:31although Celtic are taking full advantage of it after it's closed with one man coming
00:00:36in that the Celtic fans will hope he'll put pen to paper by tomorrow after a medical. So
00:00:43with that, our Be Me headlines highlight the Scottish Cup weekend. Aberdeen against Motherwell
00:00:49it's fallen foul of the weather so that match has been postponed. The Dons want Eric Horland
00:00:56as their new manager. We'll keep right up to date across all our social media channels
00:01:02on when that story comes to a conclusion. Will it be Horland in there or will there be somebody
00:01:07out of left field? And elsewhere, Celtic's board has called for peace talks just as they
00:01:13get ready to sign Alex Oxley-Chamberlain if he passes that medical tomorrow. That's just
00:01:20a few of the headlines that we'll be discussing on the programme. Getting Parsi and Tam's thoughts
00:01:25on it. Here's a question for you in our quiz as ever at the top of the show and we'll
00:01:31give you the answer by the end and it's quite simple. Ronaldo could be on his way again out
00:01:36of Saudi Arabia but for the moment how many professional football clubs has Ronaldo played
00:01:41for? Do you want to have a guess at that Parsi? Do you want to guess at that Parsi? I want to guess at you
00:01:44just now? Yeah, put her in. Seven. Eight. Eight. Okay. Both less than us. Okay. They need to go
00:01:53somebody to be less than you. Anyway, we'll give you the answer at the end of the programme. That's
00:02:00our quiz sponsored by Elite Joinery and Fire Protection. Lots of things to talk about of course with
00:02:06the Scottish Cup fixtures first and foremost. We've got Airdrie St Mirren which is taking place
00:02:13tonight. Dundee United against Spartans. Dunfermline, Celtic Hearts. Elgin City against Partick Thistle.
00:02:19Celtic Dundee. Aberdeen against Mullow's postponed. On the Sunday it's Rangers against Queen's Park
00:02:24and Stenhouse Muir against Falkirk. That's the games that we'll be talking about and really looking
00:02:32forward to at Scottish Cup. Did it have happy memories for either of you as far as playing
00:02:37football? Mixed probably, Peter. I got left out of a Scottish Cup final for Hibs against
00:02:44Celtic by Alec MacLeish. I was 17th man but I remember scoring the last minute goal down
00:02:50at Cymarland to get us into the semi-finals. 1-0. Scored the winning goal against Dirling Albion
00:02:55by Gally Graham's team for Hibs as well. And I missed a Scottish Cup final for Dunfermline
00:03:00due to the fact that I'd been on the bench for Falkirk and not played. The real get changed
00:03:04a year later. So bar that, I love the Scottish Cup. Part of the Clyde squad that knocked Celtic
00:03:09out in Roy Keane's debut. Part of the Clyde squad that took Rangers, led Rangers 1-0 with
00:03:1515 minutes to go. Gascoigne and all. In the quarter-finals at Broadwood, live in telly. Famously
00:03:25lost 4-1. But that was more to do with John Hillcote than anything else. Never met Gaza.
00:03:29But I did get man of the match. Do you know what? My worst story was one against my old
00:03:34club, Dundee United with the holders. Went up to Tannadice to play. Scottish Cup tie, nothing
00:03:40each. Five minutes to go. Clean through. Kellen Mahanlin was the goalkeeper. Clearly I never
00:03:47scored in the highlights that night. Hazel Irvin slaughtered me. That's probably my lowest point.
00:03:51Well, it's a high point for us. Hazel's an informed and brilliant broadcaster. She knows
00:03:55her stuff. Over and above that, Bob says, and I'm not too happy to see you, Parsi. Bob says,
00:04:02ah, Parsi, anti-Aberdeen chat it is then. Just do it, Bob. I think Parsi's anti-everyone,
00:04:09to be honest. Yeah. Throws Ghanaian at his other place. Absolutely. And Peter says, he says,
00:04:13Bob says, Peter, just a thought. Hornerland at Aberdeen. Hasn't it crossed your mind that
00:04:17given Lutz's finish deal? Knows Hornerland. He's been the target all along and not just
00:04:24the weekend. Well, that may well be the case, but there's been four or five others that have
00:04:30all been touted. Is he waiting for him to get sacked for us in Etienne?
00:04:34Well, this is the thing about it. You have to wonder about this, Bob. You've got to put
00:04:39a bit of perspective. Either way, I think anybody who follows Aberdeen just wants them to pick
00:04:45a manager so that they can get them moving in the right direction. Whether it's too late
00:04:49and whether they can actually get into the top six is another debate that we will have
00:04:54on this programme. Anyway, just a quick one before we start to talk about these games in
00:04:59detail and some of the news that's coming out. It gives me a great pleasure to announce
00:05:03to you that you can join us at the Doubletree Hilton for a special World Cup countdown with
00:05:08former Scotland managers Gordon Strack and Alex McLeish and former assistant coach Mark
00:05:13McGee. We'll have tales from the Fergie years, Old Firm showdowns and some dressing room banter
00:05:18from all of these three guys. It's sure to be a fantastic night in Glasgow at the Doubletree
00:05:25in Cambridge Street. And if you want to get along there, don't forget, you can email
00:05:30beth at plzsoccer.com and we have a link that we will post for you so that you can get straight
00:05:36through there and book your table. I'll be the host on the night and all three of them
00:05:40I've had them in the studio. Great banter. The three of them really funny together.
00:05:44Absolutely. Legends. Also raconteurs. An absolute lifetime of memories and funny stories. That'll
00:05:51be great.
00:05:52Yeah, really looking forward to it. Last time I was in their company, Tam, the three of
00:05:55them were part of the 40th anniversary of Gothenburg and they were absolutely hilarious on the stage
00:06:01because Gordon, as you know, starts to twitch when he starts to talk about Fergie because
00:06:06of all the pain that he inflicted on him. It's amazing that a lot of ex-players that
00:06:11worked under Fergie don't like him. Well, he likes him, but he still twitches, you know.
00:06:17Roy Keane has given for Alex Ferguson a batter of late, hasn't he? Yeah, but the great thing
00:06:21about that night is you get an insight into the personality you don't really know if you
00:06:25only see this public figure in all three of those. Contradictory to what you actually
00:06:29think they are. I'm glad you said that. Big X definitely did. Oh, Big X is so funny. It's
00:06:33absolutely brilliant, you know. And Mark has got a wicked sense of humour. I mean, just
00:06:38at times bordering on childishly funny, you know, which all footballers tend to have that
00:06:45in them. But nevertheless, all I can say is that if you want to join us, then by all means,
00:06:53April 16th, a Thursday night, the Doubletree Hilton in Cambridge Street in Glasgow. You can
00:06:58email beth at plzsoccer.com. Really looking forward to that. So, Scottish Cup. We're looking
00:07:07forward to the games. And certainly, when I look at some of the gossip that's going
00:07:11around at the moment, and some of the ambitions for the Scottish Cup, Aberdeen against Motherwell
00:07:16I thought was going to be game of the weekend, and suddenly they just haven't been able to
00:07:19get that pitch fixed.
00:07:20That's been a problem over the last week, but I think, listen, there's been a deluge
00:07:24up that area. And to be honest with you, play the game when the pitch is proper rather than
00:07:31going, because it is, it's tired around really when you look at the stature of it, and the
00:07:35consequences for both clubs. So, make sure the pitch is playable before you go.
00:07:39I read on social media that there's been, it's raining 30 days in the trot in Aberdeen.
00:07:43Raining 30 days in the trot.
00:07:45It's also broken a record that said no sunshine for a period of days. And I thought, does it
00:07:50ever? The coldest place in the world, but clearly if there's no sunshine, there's a problem.
00:07:55You used to have a good nightlife, by the way, but you could have a right good night out
00:07:59and a good weekend in Aberdeen.
00:07:59Yeah, the oil industry's declined, ruined all that. I would see when you get told you
00:08:03don't get going to Pataudry for a Friday night game. It was brilliant, but no longer.
00:08:07Yeah, okay. Well, that's written it off for anybody who lives in Aberdeen. Thanks for
00:08:10that, Parsi. Bob, you were absolutely right. Anti-Aberdeen from the out.
00:08:15It's a great set here. Bob, that's a set here. I haven't even got to your team yet.
00:08:17Yeah, well, listen, we'll talk about that because, quite simply, Eric Hornoland. Now,
00:08:23I don't think you could have pre-empted that he was going to be leaving St Etienne unless
00:08:27there was a wee bit of skullduggery in the background.
00:08:29How are you pronouncing his name, incidentally?
00:08:31Hornoland.
00:08:32Right, okay. Listen, you've got a director of football that wants to make his mark.
00:08:37He's not going to go local. Michael Grant made the point when he was on the show a few
00:08:40weeks ago. There's going to be a continental element to it. It'll be something outside the
00:08:44box. I think he's made a mistake. I think a club at Aberdeen now needs foundation, basics,
00:08:50knowledge, nothing avant-garde about it. Just go. Go for a John McGlanfiger. I think
00:08:55they're making a mistake again. Seems like a quaint element to their appointment. The manager
00:09:01that they're targeting is somebody. I've watched St Etienne under him and they're a big club.
00:09:06Again, the club's still finding its way to the back to the top. We'll wait and see, but
00:09:12again, is it another name that you're hoping to come in to revamp? Go local.
00:09:17Well, I'm sure that will bring a fair bit of anger towards you, Gordon, because it brought
00:09:22a fair bit of anger to me when I suggested Neil Lennon. They were not happy with me, Tam.
00:09:28But nevertheless, it's getting the right one. I mean, it's not as if you can't say, you
00:09:34can't criticise the Aberdeen board because they've absolutely backed the manager. I mean,
00:09:37they've made a lot of signings.
00:09:39Yeah, they back all the managers up there, I think. You know, Jimmy Tillene was probably
00:09:42the heaviest backed manager in their history in terms of the signings. You know, spending
00:09:46a million pound on players and bringing players in. So, you know, heavily backed. I think
00:09:51the next guy will be heavily backed as well. Dave Cormack, for all his faults. Certainly
00:09:54puts his money where his mouth is. He backs his managers. They want players, they
00:09:57signs players. So, I tend to agree with parts of a wee bit in terms of a John McGlynn
00:10:03type figure. I think John McGlynn would have been ideal. I don't know his circumstances
00:10:06at Falkirk. He's quite happy there. He gets the run of the ship there. Is he going to
00:10:10work under a director of football at his age?
00:10:12When was the last continental manager that succeeded at Aberdeen? And I look at the Scottish
00:10:15ones they've had and it's been better. And there's been stability and there's been
00:10:18punching and certainly finishing second and thirds. I just do not see why they obviously
00:10:24have to go outside the country to recruit.
00:10:28Ed Scoftal was alright.
00:10:29But was he?
00:10:30Well, he was a good couple of years before it all went a wee bit pear-shaped, but I thought
00:10:34Ed Scoftal was, he was actually, he was good fun.
00:10:37He was a brilliant guy.
00:10:38Aberdeen fans will argue that Jimmy Tling was successful because he won the Scottish Cup.
00:10:41Yeah. Okay.
00:10:42That's a good point.
00:10:43That's a good point.
00:10:44They probably would.
00:10:45I think there's a few people who would.
00:10:46I think domestically.
00:10:47But you can't say that by a grimace, right? You say that by a grimace and I know why you're
00:10:51grimacing. It's the unspoken truth.
00:10:53Well, maybe they were spoiled because they had Derek McInnes constantly getting them up
00:10:57to second place. And even then, after a while, they grew sick of him. They didn't like the
00:11:02football.
00:11:03Expectations in all football clubs when you go and do that kind of, that consistent ability
00:11:09for Derek to know the environment and know what was required. You know what you're getting.
00:11:14What do Aberdeen expect?
00:11:15Brian says Stephen Robinson would have been perfect for Aberdeen in my opinion.
00:11:19Brian, I can't disagree with you. I thought Stephen Robinson or Yen's Bertha Laskow would
00:11:23have been perfect for Aberdeen. But, listen, you've got to give him his place. You can't
00:11:28bring in Lutz Fanny Steele and say to him, listen, we're not going to back you.
00:11:32We've actually brought you in to try and make these appointments. So, you've got to stick
00:11:37by him and see what he's going to say. And, you know, let's see what happens. Because the
00:11:43one good thing he'll have in his favour is he's got, you know, Dave Cormack and Alan Burrows
00:11:47who are backing the manager. I mean, as Sievert Nielsen said, OK, they might have good players
00:11:52but they don't have a good team. Maybe this guy can come in there and turn them into a good
00:11:56team. We will find out.
00:11:57Unknown quantity.
00:11:58Do you think they'll finish top six?
00:11:59I don't know any. Sorry, Bob, but top six is possibly beyond them.
00:12:05Yeah, I think so. I don't think they'll get top six.
00:12:08Nope. I don't think so either. The only way they've got them if they're still Falkert's
00:12:11manager, I don't think they'll catch Falkert now with the six, eight points behind.
00:12:14Yeah, I don't even think they'll catch Hibbs.
00:12:16No.
00:12:17Tom, who was the best manager you've played?
00:12:19Best manager, what, Thunder?
00:12:20Alec McLeish.
00:12:21Did you ever play under a continental manager?
00:12:23Oh, you would have been in America. You know Tom played in America, don't you?
00:12:28He's in his goal.
00:12:29Yeah, he's American.
00:12:31Well, here.
00:12:33Briefly.
00:12:34Briefly.
00:12:35Briefly.
00:12:36Very briefly.
00:12:37Frank Sosey.
00:12:38Right.
00:12:39Of course, yeah.
00:12:40Which didn't go down well.
00:12:41Right.
00:12:42But there's a fundamental...
00:12:43The best...
00:12:44Raina Bonhoff with Scotland in the 21s was good.
00:12:46But bar that, I'm thinking Alec McLeish, Steven Presley,
00:12:50Steven Kenny, Tony Mulberry.
00:12:53Oh, well, crap.
00:12:54Okay.
00:12:55But this individual then will have to buck a trend.
00:12:57That's all I'm saying.
00:12:58And the trend has not been good for Aberdeen.
00:13:00Okay.
00:13:01Listen, not that we are advocating, and I certainly would not advocate that,
00:13:05you know, you don't hire foreign coaches, because quite simply,
00:13:09it's got to be the right fit.
00:13:10You've got to get the board there.
00:13:11You've got to get the man who knows his football.
00:13:13It's as simple as that.
00:13:14Jens Bertha Lasko is the perfect example of a foreign coach coming in
00:13:18with a clear message, a clear strategy, a DNA that says,
00:13:21this is how we're going to play.
00:13:22Stick to it.
00:13:23It's a brilliant yin to the yang.
00:13:25It's kind of perfect.
00:13:26Yeah.
00:13:27Okay.
00:13:28What about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain?
00:13:30It's been touted.
00:13:32Well, there was a fair amount of scepticism about it,
00:13:35thinking, you know, is this really...
00:13:37is this one of these little, you know,
00:13:39you know, tidbits they throw up to try and get people excited,
00:13:41and it doesn't follow through?
00:13:42Well, Martini will confirm today that it looks as if he's coming up,
00:13:46medical tomorrow, all things being equal,
00:13:48he'll be a Celtic player.
00:13:49I think there's two aspects to this signing.
00:13:51I think it's a no-risk one for Celtic.
00:13:52I think it's a no-brainer for them.
00:13:54You know, you get him up for four or five months,
00:13:56pay him 10, 15 grand a week.
00:13:57It's not a lot of money for Celtic.
00:13:59Are we getting paid a lot more in that term?
00:14:00Do you think so?
00:14:01Oh, aye.
00:14:02Oh, say he's getting 20 grand a week.
00:14:03Okay.
00:14:04For four or five months.
00:14:05It's not a big outlay for Celtic if he wins in the league.
00:14:07Has he still got the hunger, Peter?
00:14:09Has he still got the legs?
00:14:10You know, I look at players that's come up here.
00:14:12Joey Barton, Aaron Ramsey, Ian Wright, Roy Keane,
00:14:18all guys like that who come up the tail end of their career
00:14:20and just didn't do it.
00:14:21Or is he going to come up, have a bit between his teeth
00:14:23and really impress at Celtic?
00:14:25Nobody knows how well he's going to do, Peter.
00:14:27He's 32, he's not old.
00:14:29Has he still got the hunger and the fire in his belly?
00:14:31If he has, he could potentially be the best player in Scotland
00:14:33for four months.
00:14:34If a player of that stature has played at the level that he's played at,
00:14:37can't be, if fire can't get built under that,
00:14:39at Celtic Park with that atmosphere
00:14:41and the adoration that can come his way.
00:14:43But listen, you're talking to a guy that,
00:14:44his stats are not particularly good,
00:14:46but what he comes out of Celtic to do
00:14:48is lift the fans, lift the club, lift the dressing room.
00:14:51And he's also got a special talent.
00:14:54I mean, look at his career.
00:14:56Yeah.
00:14:57Yeah.
00:14:58And thanks to so many people listening and speculating,
00:15:00Celtic says it's not about the money,
00:15:02basically because they haven't spent anything.
00:15:04So they could easily afford the wages.
00:15:06If it's 40 grand a week, says Norsey,
00:15:08that he was earning in Turkey,
00:15:10then, you know, who knows?
00:15:13Does he take a reduction?
00:15:14A huge one at that.
00:15:15I like Robert Duck, who says he's not signed yet.
00:15:17Don't put the ox before the cart.
00:15:19You've got to give him it.
00:15:20You've got to give him it.
00:15:21He's been sitting there all day
00:15:22and I thought I'll get that in
00:15:23and I'll be pleased as punch sitting next to his computer.
00:15:28And I'm happy with that, Robert Duck, you know.
00:15:30That's a throwback to the old days with the CB radio,
00:15:33but nevertheless, I'm happy with that one.
00:15:36Listen, he's a quality player.
00:15:40He hasn't played in a wee while.
00:15:43Is he match fit?
00:15:44The answer's no.
00:15:45Does he have the ability to play regular football
00:15:48till the end of the season
00:15:49because he has been picking up injuries?
00:15:51That's another big question on it.
00:15:52And where does he play?
00:15:54Part three, that's what I am.
00:15:55I'm into midfield.
00:15:56He is, because he's not going to score any goals.
00:16:00He can pick passes.
00:16:01He's going to play in the middle three.
00:16:03Absolutely.
00:16:04Where?
00:16:05I don't know, but that's his position.
00:16:07He's going to give you something creative.
00:16:09He's going to get players around him
00:16:11playing and lifted.
00:16:12And the favourite club at the moment needs that at Celtic.
00:16:15And he has a football brain, which has carried him throughout his career.
00:16:20He's got an athleticism that people...
00:16:22I mean, this is the guy that's played for England.
00:16:24How many caps did he get for England?
00:16:26Having a scurry.
00:16:27Injuries aside, he's got an athleticism.
00:16:30He's got a confidence.
00:16:31He's got a real sharp football brain.
00:16:34And it's more on the creative side, rather,
00:16:36because he's not going to go and deliver goals.
00:16:37And I'm surprised.
00:16:38Celtic have been seeing another transfer window
00:16:40and not brought somebody in
00:16:41that you can put your hat on
00:16:43that's going to score your goals.
00:16:44It's such a pivotal time.
00:16:45I think Celtic were needing somebody
00:16:47in the middle of the part.
00:16:48I do.
00:16:49I think that, obviously, you've got
00:16:50Engels in there,
00:16:52Hattati,
00:16:53Karl McGregor.
00:16:55I just think they were needing something in there.
00:16:57Something different, I think.
00:16:58He could be something different.
00:16:59That wee bit of creative spark.
00:17:01He's also...
00:17:02Right.
00:17:03He'll drive the game in the final third
00:17:05and players will respond around him.
00:17:07Karl McGregor will drive the game behind that.
00:17:09Who makes way for him, though?
00:17:11I think, and again,
00:17:13there'll be abuse for this,
00:17:14but if you've got Engels
00:17:15and you've got whatever...
00:17:16I knew you were going to say Engels.
00:17:18I'm sorry, but the proof's in the pudding.
00:17:20You're talking quality.
00:17:22You're bringing in quality.
00:17:23And if he does what it says in the tin
00:17:25he could do,
00:17:26it's an absolute masterstroke.
00:17:28Yeah.
00:17:29Weeshug has come up with a good one here.
00:17:31When Ange Postacoglu came in,
00:17:33he brought in Aaron Moy
00:17:34and there were a few sceptics then.
00:17:35He did all right.
00:17:36Aaron Moy was actually a good sign for Celtic
00:17:39and he did well.
00:17:40But again, what did Aaron Moy bring to the team?
00:17:42The football brand?
00:17:43Yeah.
00:17:44Well, listen,
00:17:45the proof is in the pudding
00:17:47because quite simply,
00:17:48Celtic need goals.
00:17:49They will have Iheanacho back at some point,
00:17:52in not too distant future.
00:17:54And also,
00:17:55this boy has settled in okay.
00:17:57I like the look of him at the game at Tyne Castle.
00:18:00He scored a lovely goal against Falkirk
00:18:02and I'm talking about Chavanchara.
00:18:03So, you know,
00:18:05you're looking and saying to yourself,
00:18:06okay, they've got two options
00:18:08and they've also got three,
00:18:10you know,
00:18:11in total five,
00:18:12but three other signings that we've still
00:18:14to see what they're going to offer as well.
00:18:16Vuka,
00:18:18Amuda.
00:18:19So, we're going to see what they're going to offer as well.
00:18:22Yeah, I just think it has competition for places.
00:18:24In parts they'll tell you.
00:18:25If you've got somebody breathing down your neck on the pitch,
00:18:27somebody sitting on the bench
00:18:28who's probably just as good as you,
00:18:29if not better,
00:18:30your performance levels have got to be good.
00:18:32And I think that drives every club,
00:18:33is that competition.
00:18:34Celtic have not had that.
00:18:35I think they were desperate to get four or five in.
00:18:37And I think the proof has been in pudding
00:18:39with the two players they've brought in.
00:18:40The right backs come in
00:18:41being better than what they've got.
00:18:42The strikers come in,
00:18:43he's better than Kenny.
00:18:44You see that dynamic you're talking about?
00:18:46Rangers seem to have achieved that.
00:18:47I was at Ibooks on Wednesday night
00:18:48and you could see
00:18:49the loaded players on the pitch
00:18:50and you could see something
00:18:51that they've not had for a while.
00:18:52That was genuine.
00:18:53Quality in the bench.
00:18:54Absolutely.
00:18:55Yeah.
00:18:56I must admit,
00:18:57I'm looking at Rangers
00:18:58and I think,
00:18:59and we're going to talk about them
00:19:01a little bit in greater detail shortly,
00:19:02but,
00:19:03you know,
00:19:04we're talking about midweek there.
00:19:05Andreas Scovolson
00:19:06is going to get more games.
00:19:08He's going to get sharper.
00:19:09So I don't think people can start
00:19:11passing comments.
00:19:12There's a few people passing comments.
00:19:13as if he was a complete dud.
00:19:15He's only been in two games,
00:19:16for God's sake.
00:19:17And I think,
00:19:18another thing that struck me
00:19:19on Wednesday night is,
00:19:20Michael Moore's now finding,
00:19:21the boy Moore's now finding his feet.
00:19:23Yeah.
00:19:24And he's starting to take that responsibility.
00:19:26And it's not just players that they're brought in,
00:19:28which clearly the manager knows
00:19:29or believes they can make an impact,
00:19:31which can be key.
00:19:32But this kid now is the spark
00:19:35and you can see him growing and growing and growing.
00:19:37How important can he be?
00:19:38Yeah.
00:19:39Lots to debate on that.
00:19:40Give us your thoughts on it as well.
00:19:42Give us your thoughts on who you think
00:19:44is going to win the league and why.
00:19:45And also,
00:19:46let's have your thoughts on the Scottish Cup games
00:19:48over the weekend too.
00:19:50Just a couple of quick points.
00:19:52I was surprised to read that headline,
00:19:54Calvin Miller,
00:19:55a deal to Celtic had collapsed at the last minute.
00:19:58There's nothing worse for anybody
00:20:00when they think they're going to Rangers,
00:20:02they're going to Celtic,
00:20:03they're maybe going down south to a big club
00:20:04and just at the last minute,
00:20:06snatched away from you.
00:20:07He's still, you know,
00:20:08I know you thought he was 23,
00:20:09I've got a...
00:20:10He's 28.
00:20:11He's getting on.
00:20:12Baby face, Peter.
00:20:13Yeah, I think he'll be,
00:20:14he'll be devastated, obviously.
00:20:15He came through at Celtic.
00:20:16He's probably thought he's bounced about
00:20:18at different clubs down south
00:20:19and he's went into Falkirk,
00:20:20done really well.
00:20:21He had a superb game against Celtic,
00:20:23which was in the window,
00:20:24right in, you know,
00:20:25marking the nail right in front of him.
00:20:26And I'm sure that when Celtic were
00:20:28going through their usual panic
00:20:30the last day looking for players,
00:20:31they thought,
00:20:32he played very well against us yesterday.
00:20:34It was yesterday,
00:20:35it was the day before.
00:20:36Why didn't we go and try and get him back?
00:20:37And it's not happened,
00:20:39but I think he's been really,
00:20:40really impressive for Falkirk this season.
00:20:42And when you look at the players,
00:20:44the wide players that Celtic have signed,
00:20:46you know,
00:20:47Tunecti,
00:20:48Balak,
00:20:4910 million,
00:20:5111 million pound on the two of them.
00:20:52I think he's better than both of them,
00:20:53Peter.
00:20:54Well, he's got a good left peg on him.
00:20:55Apart from Tierney,
00:20:56there's not many with a left peg.
00:20:57You're not a fan.
00:20:58I'm a fan.
00:20:59You think he's Celtic level?
00:21:00He's not,
00:21:01he's not Celtic level.
00:21:02He's bounced about.
00:21:03John McGlynn's been his salvation.
00:21:06I thought Calvin,
00:21:08sadly,
00:21:09when I was dealing with him for an interview
00:21:10a couple of years ago,
00:21:11would be lost to the game.
00:21:12One of those guys
00:21:13that promised much
00:21:14and just faded.
00:21:15But,
00:21:16I admire the fact
00:21:17that he's bit between his teeth.
00:21:19And his role at Falkirk is defined.
00:21:21He's got a freedom to play there.
00:21:23He plays for a manager
00:21:24who absolutely gives him that belief
00:21:26and confidence.
00:21:27Calvin Miller,
00:21:29to Celtic,
00:21:30blows my mind a wee bit.
00:21:31And I think,
00:21:32you're right,
00:21:33he was,
00:21:34performed exceptionally well
00:21:35at the right time.
00:21:36But Celtic,
00:21:37he's still after levels.
00:21:38And Calvin Miller's not going to go
00:21:39and play in Europe
00:21:40and scare anybody.
00:21:41He's effective
00:21:42in a good Falkirk team.
00:21:44Ethan Ross is a better player.
00:21:46Okay.
00:21:47You can discuss that.
00:21:48Give us your thoughts on it as well.
00:21:49Parsi in absolutely blistering form today.
00:21:51He's got the shin pads on.
00:21:52He's got the Puma World Cups.
00:21:53And Tam's just wearing a pair of trainers.
00:21:57Okay.
00:21:59Exactly.
00:22:00Just,
00:22:01just as a,
00:22:02you know,
00:22:03a topic that again involves
00:22:04the madness of Celtic.
00:22:07Their interim chairman,
00:22:08Brian Wilson,
00:22:09suddenly on TV,
00:22:10Celtic TV that is,
00:22:11and he's calling for peace talks
00:22:14with some of the supporters groups.
00:22:17Now,
00:22:19some Celtic fans look at that
00:22:21and just reading on their social media,
00:22:22on their social media,
00:22:23they reckon it's reactionary
00:22:25rather than being proactive about,
00:22:27you know,
00:22:28the hand of peace,
00:22:29the, you know,
00:22:30the ability to get into discussions with people.
00:22:33We've already had our say on the Green Brigade
00:22:35and it's a complex issue,
00:22:37but just speaking to lots of supporters groups,
00:22:40communication and understanding of what's happened in the breakdown,
00:22:45is he open to criticism because suddenly there's a threat of a boycott,
00:22:50you know,
00:22:51and when they lose money,
00:22:52they suddenly move into the year?
00:22:54Yeah,
00:22:55Peter, I just don't think this is going to go away.
00:22:56I think,
00:22:57maybe certain members of the board think that if Celtic win the league this season,
00:23:00then,
00:23:01well, it could be fine, it'll cover over.
00:23:02I just, I think there's,
00:23:04there's a certain element of Celtic supporters now who will not rest until they're,
00:23:07until they're removed.
00:23:08And I think that's going to,
00:23:09that's going to continue the rest of the season.
00:23:11I don't think it's going to help Celtic.
00:23:13I've seen Martin O'Neill talking in the press conference today,
00:23:15he needs a club United.
00:23:16They're in a tight title race this season
00:23:18and boycotting games is not going to help them,
00:23:20particularly at Parkhead.
00:23:21But,
00:23:22I just,
00:23:23it's not going to go away, Peter.
00:23:24I just think that they're going to,
00:23:25they're not going to rest until
00:23:27Brian Wilson,
00:23:28Michael Nicholson and the rest are out the door.
00:23:30Dermot Desmond.
00:23:31And it's just going to continue.
00:23:32And no matter if Celtic are going to win the league,
00:23:34it's just going to continue right through the summer as well until they're removed.
00:23:36Yeah.
00:23:37Well, I've said before,
00:23:38that is just a pipe dream,
00:23:40because they're not going to get rid of Dermot Desmond,
00:23:42because he's,
00:23:43he's a billionaire.
00:23:44He's not going to be told.
00:23:45He won't bother his back end about anybody trying to get rid of him.
00:23:48There may well be another sacrificial lamb.
00:23:50I don't,
00:23:51for a minute,
00:23:52this is just my own personal opinion.
00:23:53I think,
00:23:54I think some of the abuse that went towards the,
00:23:56the former chairman,
00:23:57Peter Lowell was out of order.
00:23:58He stepped down as chairman,
00:24:00probably still on the board.
00:24:03Michael Nicholson,
00:24:04I think they'll be trying to look for his head.
00:24:06But,
00:24:07you know,
00:24:08they may well be sacrificed,
00:24:10but it won't change the overall DNA,
00:24:13the way they go about their business,
00:24:15the structure,
00:24:16the process.
00:24:17I don't think that will change.
00:24:18There's no mediation.
00:24:19Brian Wilson's a clever man,
00:24:20but there's no mediation that's going to solve a problem.
00:24:22People want a body,
00:24:23and they want a restructure,
00:24:25and they want a revolution.
00:24:26And for people that remember Celtic's last revolution,
00:24:29the circumstances were completely different.
00:24:31The circumstances now are,
00:24:33and I always say it,
00:24:34what do Celtic want?
00:24:35What do Celtic fans really believe?
00:24:37What is their biggest gripe?
00:24:39What is their biggest gripe?
00:24:40Well,
00:24:41I think it's a lack of ambition in Europe.
00:24:43I think it's also a recruitment policy,
00:24:45which does not lead them to believe that the,
00:24:48the board want them to go to the latter stages.
00:24:52They've confirmed a narrative to them,
00:24:54which is basically we can't compete in Europe.
00:24:56And I think the Celtic fans have watched two or three good signings,
00:25:01and then they've watched,
00:25:02yeah,
00:25:03they've watched them getting beaten.
00:25:05And when they've reached the heights of maybe getting a really good
00:25:08knockout phase game,
00:25:10they've watched them fall foul of selling a Kyogo,
00:25:14maybe not having the players that could get them that bit further.
00:25:17I don't think any Celtic fan I've ever spoken to has suggested
00:25:20they can win the Champions League.
00:25:21They just want to be able to compete,
00:25:23take a few scalps,
00:25:24and not be cannon fodder at Celtic Park after the theme finishes.
00:25:28Okay.
00:25:29And no arguments.
00:25:30The recruitment strategy has been utterly abysmal.
00:25:33And for a long time,
00:25:35a long time has been a success and a failures.
00:25:37But,
00:25:38listen,
00:25:39Celtic fans need to,
00:25:41and how many fans are going to boycott the game?
00:25:43Is the question,
00:25:44right?
00:25:45We don't know.
00:25:46There's going to be no alteration to the model,
00:25:49because the one man dictates everything.
00:25:51And they will argue that it's been a success.
00:25:54Peter Lawwell can hold his head up high,
00:25:57where Bartheshe proves he's been a success.
00:26:00I get that Celtic fans have grievances about the spending policy,
00:26:05and generally the model,
00:26:07the recruitment, they're absolutely right.
00:26:08The lack of liaison between the club,
00:26:10the club,
00:26:11the club.
00:26:12Listen,
00:26:13Celtic take their fans for granted.
00:26:14They've said it for a long time.
00:26:15Celtic fans.
00:26:16They've been a success because the Celtic fans have paid all their money.
00:26:18Correct.
00:26:19But show me a football club that doesn't take their fans for granted.
00:26:21Absolutely.
00:26:22And the board has been a success,
00:26:23because they've gone through this blueprint,
00:26:25which is basically,
00:26:26buy them in as projects,
00:26:27sell them on.
00:26:28Full march to that.
00:26:29Nobody's debating the fact that as accountants,
00:26:32and bank managers,
00:26:33and business people,
00:26:34that blueprint has been a success.
00:26:37But it comes at a different level of ambition.
00:26:39Peter,
00:26:40this is a club that knocked back
00:26:42potentially £24 million
00:26:44for a guy that's been a non-participator.
00:26:46You're talking about an isolated incident.
00:26:49I'm talking about a sustained period.
00:26:51I'm saying.
00:26:52Where Celtic, since 2003, 2004,
00:26:54have reined it in,
00:26:55and have actually gone backwards as far as European football.
00:26:59The amount of times they've played
00:27:01playoff,
00:27:02group stage,
00:27:03to playoff,
00:27:04is poor.
00:27:05The return's poor.
00:27:06And I think Celtic fans are now at that point,
00:27:08where they're saying,
00:27:09well, wait a minute.
00:27:10Difficult windows.
00:27:11Tough to get them here.
00:27:12Don't want to pay the wages.
00:27:14We're going to buy this one.
00:27:15He's a one for the future.
00:27:16We just came up short because we can't compete at this level.
00:27:19We're going to wait right to the very,
00:27:21very, very, very, very, very, very last day
00:27:23to try and get a couple of players.
00:27:25But the window just closed.
00:27:26We couldn't get them over the line.
00:27:27And then,
00:27:28all of a sudden,
00:27:29you get Iheanacho,
00:27:30picks up two hamstring injuries because he's not fit.
00:27:32You know,
00:27:33they've heard it all before.
00:27:34I agree with everything you're saying there.
00:27:36But that's not going to change.
00:27:37No, I agree.
00:27:38What mediation and exhaustive attempts you make to go to supporters clubs
00:27:42and get them in to speak and all that.
00:27:44It's going to be just whispering in the wind stuff.
00:27:48It's not going to change.
00:27:49And I think that when they speak about boycotting games
00:27:53and they're not going into the games,
00:27:54there's a massive waiting list at Parkhead.
00:27:56So if you don't want the ticket,
00:27:57I think the Celtic board go,
00:27:58me Jimmy will take it.
00:28:00That waiting list.
00:28:02So there's,
00:28:03I don't think this boycott is going to happen.
00:28:05Sam, and let's be honest,
00:28:06if they go out and win the league,
00:28:08it will placate a lot and they'll get a new manager in
00:28:11and there'll be signs arriving.
00:28:13And they'll have a new,
00:28:14kind of take a breath and go into Europe again
00:28:16and believe that they can punch in any way they can.
00:28:19I'll tell you one thing
00:28:20that's really exacerbated this whole thing
00:28:22and increased the tension
00:28:23is there's nothing like competition
00:28:26to really put the frighteners on you.
00:28:28And Harps have certainly done that.
00:28:30And Rangers are now back in the mix.
00:28:33And I think that's down to Danny Rule.
00:28:35I think a lot of Celtic fans were thinking,
00:28:37well, okay, every, as you said,
00:28:39you know, they'll win the league.
00:28:40They'll win the treble sometimes.
00:28:42They'll win the Scottish Cup.
00:28:43They'll have this sense of entitlement.
00:28:45That they should be doing this.
00:28:48And then suddenly,
00:28:49somebody is threatening their dominance.
00:28:51And especially if it's their greatest rivals.
00:28:54And I think this is great credit to Danny Rule.
00:28:56Danny Rule's come in and said,
00:28:57right, hold on.
00:28:58Let's get it organised first.
00:29:00Let's not lose games.
00:29:01You know, and when everybody was still dismissing them
00:29:04as being out of the race,
00:29:06as Stephen Smith said the other day,
00:29:09even he didn't expect it.
00:29:11He's in part of the coaching staff.
00:29:12Suddenly, Rangers are back in the mix of three points behind hearts
00:29:15and could win it.
00:29:16I think Danny Rule has grasped Rangers straight away.
00:29:18He's come straight into the door and he's thought,
00:29:20I just need to win.
00:29:21You know, it's not going to be fancy.
00:29:23I seen them at Easter Road.
00:29:24I think they won 1-0.
00:29:25Hibbs missed a penalty.
00:29:26They scored the early doors.
00:29:27Danilo.
00:29:28And they just parked the bus.
00:29:30And it was just,
00:29:31won the game at all costs.
00:29:32And I think he's grasped what Rangers is all about.
00:29:34And as long as you're getting results,
00:29:35the Rangers fans will put up with that.
00:29:36You know, they put up with winning games,
00:29:37not playing particularly well.
00:29:38But now he's just starting to add wee bits of quality.
00:29:41And listen, Rangers have spent money.
00:29:43They've spent 20, 30 million in the windows.
00:29:46So they've been well backed,
00:29:48Russell Martin and him.
00:29:49But they're just starting to see signs with Rangers
00:29:52that their creative players are starting to click a wee bit.
00:29:55You know, I think it was quite telling.
00:29:57I mean, he was baring his teeth in the post-match press conference
00:30:00on Wednesday night having a wee bit of a dig at the fans.
00:30:02That's confidence.
00:30:03Yeah.
00:30:04Were you surprised they were booing you at half-time?
00:30:06They were poor.
00:30:07I mean, let's be honest.
00:30:08Cumberland should have been level at half-time,
00:30:11even with their ten men.
00:30:13Rangers were awful in the first half.
00:30:15And it was recognised with the fans showing their discontent.
00:30:18In fact, I think this is a fan base.
00:30:21It's kind of post-traumatic scared with the Russell Martin era.
00:30:24And they've not quite managed to shake that off.
00:30:26That's why I think, Daniel.
00:30:27Don't you think they trust the team?
00:30:28Yeah.
00:30:29That's the thing.
00:30:30The manager's prepared to, you know,
00:30:31assert himself on his discontent and how they reacted.
00:30:35A, what does he expect?
00:30:37Because they were really poor.
00:30:38Yeah.
00:30:39By the way, were you surprised they were poor?
00:30:40I watched them against Hebs.
00:30:41I thought they were poor.
00:30:42No, again, I've really seen a Rangers team
00:30:45that are a convincing Rangers team.
00:30:48Now, the scoreline and the way they steamrolled
00:30:51in the second half would surely get the Rangers fans believing,
00:30:53again, I don't think even the Rangers fans believe.
00:30:56Yeah, but it's against ten men.
00:30:57It doesn't matter.
00:30:58I think, I don't know about you.
00:30:59This is a thing that's back into the title race.
00:31:01Yeah.
00:31:02Where's the atmosphere?
00:31:03Where is the real edge?
00:31:04It wasn't there.
00:31:05You're talking about football fans
00:31:06who know what type of football they want to see.
00:31:08Yeah.
00:31:09And they're not getting that.
00:31:10I mean, I didn't think they were impressive against Hebs.
00:31:12I didn't think, and I don't know about you,
00:31:14but even with 11 men on the park,
00:31:15I didn't think Rangers were not going to win against Kilmarnock
00:31:18unless you were going to tell me differently.
00:31:19No, I think the game was finished after a few minutes.
00:31:20No, but even with that,
00:31:22let's just say he doesn't get sent off.
00:31:24I still thought Rangers were going to win the other night there.
00:31:26Yeah.
00:31:27They should go and beat Kilmarnock
00:31:28for second ball in the league,
00:31:29but I just don't think the Rangers supporters trust this team.
00:31:32I don't think they trust it when the chips are down.
00:31:35I think that was a big one,
00:31:36Hibs away from home to go and win.
00:31:39And the lack of intensity in the first half,
00:31:41the square passing,
00:31:42was back to the days of yore.
00:31:44Yeah.
00:31:45And audibly the fans were not having it.
00:31:47Ryan Nadiri,
00:31:48he's obviously another one that they're hoping
00:31:51can somehow either stimulate Cermiti
00:31:55or indeed take his place and score goals
00:31:57and they're hoping that he can hit the ground running.
00:31:59Yeah, like I said,
00:32:00there will be,
00:32:01we'll look back in a few months and we'll see
00:32:03individuals that have gone and shone
00:32:05and really put their weight behind this title race.
00:32:08Did you like Mikey Moore?
00:32:11I really liked him
00:32:12because he seems to have,
00:32:14a bit like Danny Roll now,
00:32:16found his role on the team,
00:32:18comfortable in his environment,
00:32:19understands the responsibilities on his shoulders,
00:32:22which is an affront to some of the better paid,
00:32:25more established players that are playing around him.
00:32:29The kid goes and takes responsibility
00:32:31and he's creating chances,
00:32:33he's scoring goals.
00:32:34He's affecting the game now, isn't he?
00:32:35He's affecting the game.
00:32:36He is.
00:32:37It's his pass through.
00:32:38He wasn't doing that under Russell Martin.
00:32:39It's his pass through for the red card,
00:32:41so it's just a crucial moment.
00:32:42He scores a goal,
00:32:43he lifts the fans,
00:32:45but again,
00:32:46in that first half,
00:32:47too many passengers.
00:32:49Yeah.
00:32:50Okay.
00:32:51We'll talk about Rangers in their game in a moment,
00:32:53but of the other news that's coming in,
00:32:55Beningame not too upset at the moment
00:32:58that there's no deal done.
00:32:59I think he's fairly relaxed about it,
00:33:00wants to stay.
00:33:02His deal's up in the summer,
00:33:03but I think hearts will go out of their way
00:33:05to make sure he stays.
00:33:06Yeah, I think he's a good player.
00:33:07I'm really, really impressed with him.
00:33:08I've seen him against Hibbs.
00:33:10I think he was outstanding.
00:33:12I think they missed him when he was suspended.
00:33:14Obviously, they're missing Devlin and Shanklin.
00:33:16They're going to be missing Halkett
00:33:17for the Derby as well.
00:33:18So, yeah, I think he's a pivotal part
00:33:20of the Hearts squad
00:33:21and there'll be a few looking for new contracts there,
00:33:23particularly if they win the league.
00:33:25So, yeah,
00:33:26I don't think he will have any problems
00:33:28getting a new contract at Hearts.
00:33:29He's also a personality.
00:33:30I haven't interviewed him a few times.
00:33:31He's very calm, relaxed about it.
00:33:32He's very faith-based.
00:33:33He is that way as well.
00:33:34You know,
00:33:35he'll let his faith control his environment
00:33:39and how he feels.
00:33:41There's no anxiety for a new deal.
00:33:43He doesn't strike me as a kind of person
00:33:44that's going to go and look elsewhere.
00:33:46He seems happy.
00:33:47And he is.
00:33:48He's a crucial cog.
00:33:49Yeah.
00:33:50Are you worried about Hanley being out
00:33:52four weeks?
00:33:53Hamstring?
00:33:56A wee bit.
00:33:57I think he's been excellent for Hibbs.
00:33:59He's been a good signing.
00:34:00Hibbs just signed a centre-half in the window.
00:34:01He played the other night
00:34:02beside Rocky Bashiri.
00:34:03He played well.
00:34:04So, I think Hibbs with Airedale there
00:34:06and O'Hara,
00:34:07they're pretty well covered at centre-back.
00:34:08But, yeah,
00:34:09I think he will be a wee bit of a miss to see experience.
00:34:12But,
00:34:13Hibbs did miss him the other night.
00:34:15He lost two goals for set-pieces.
00:34:16Which,
00:34:17it wouldn't have happened if Granton Halley was playing.
00:34:19But, I think Hibbs have got well covered defensively
00:34:21in that area.
00:34:22Before we get the predictions for the Scottish Cup fixtures
00:34:25and your thoughts on it all.
00:34:27Tam,
00:34:28the window's now closed.
00:34:29I was going to ask you yesterday,
00:34:31but I think it's only right and proper we ask you now.
00:34:33You've got Hearts out in front,
00:34:36three points ahead of Rangers.
00:34:38They were taking 27 points out of 30.
00:34:40They lost their first game.
00:34:41They're just going to win every game now.
00:34:42Remember you said the next ten games
00:34:44they were taking 27 points?
00:34:45Yeah.
00:34:46So,
00:34:47I was just going to win the next nine.
00:34:48Yeah.
00:34:49Anyway.
00:34:50Wait a minute.
00:34:51Wait a minute.
00:34:52You don't know what's happened yet.
00:34:53You don't know what's happened.
00:34:54No, you don't know.
00:34:55No, I quite like this.
00:34:56This is a good thing.
00:34:57That's what I like.
00:34:58Hold on a minute.
00:34:59Put your boots back on you.
00:35:01No.
00:35:02As I said...
00:35:03It was a bold statement from you.
00:35:04It was a bold statement at the time.
00:35:05And again,
00:35:06did we not agree to come to a situation
00:35:08where once the window was closed
00:35:09we would all give our predictions?
00:35:10Just ignore the St Myrne game then?
00:35:11Say that again?
00:35:12Just ignore the St Myrne game.
00:35:13And you're going to just go now then?
00:35:15You don't know what I'm about to say.
00:35:17Right.
00:35:18Because we're all going to give our prediction
00:35:19now that the window's closed.
00:35:20Who's winning the league?
00:35:21Celtic.
00:35:22You think Celtic are going to win it?
00:35:23I think Celtic will win the league.
00:35:24I think they've brought in players.
00:35:26They've strengthened the squad.
00:35:28They've got competition for places.
00:35:30And the main thing for me, Peter,
00:35:31is in a tight title race
00:35:32you want close and distance winners.
00:35:34You want people that can handle pressure.
00:35:35And I'm not convinced
00:35:36Hearts will handle it.
00:35:37And I'm not convinced Rangers will handle it.
00:35:39I think Celtic,
00:35:40they've got proven winners on their team.
00:35:41They've got proven manager.
00:35:42And I think that will get them
00:35:44just over the line.
00:35:47Partially what he doesn't know is
00:35:49Ruffy and I were on the other day there
00:35:52and the window had closed.
00:35:54We've actually picked.
00:35:56We've actually picked who we wanted.
00:35:58I don't know if you picked up on that.
00:36:00But I've changed my mind.
00:36:03I've changed my mind.
00:36:04Oh no.
00:36:05And he's changed his mind
00:36:06from Hearts getting 27 points.
00:36:08Yeah, you can't.
00:36:09I'm frightened to tell you
00:36:10in case he starts bullying me.
00:36:11No, no, because...
00:36:12No, don't mind.
00:36:13That's the joy of it all.
00:36:14It's not the thing missing here
00:36:15is a pint of lag and then a full scale
00:36:16or outside.
00:36:17But the point is,
00:36:19you look at the window,
00:36:21you assess the games that they've played
00:36:23and you say to yourself,
00:36:24OK, with the managers,
00:36:26with the players in the window,
00:36:27we always said, didn't we Tam,
00:36:28that we were going to invoke the Ruffey clause
00:36:31which is quite simply,
00:36:32the window's closed,
00:36:33everybody's made their signings,
00:36:34who's winning the league
00:36:35and who's getting relegated.
00:36:37I've changed my mind.
00:36:38Tam, you're right.
00:36:39Celtic have had a fright
00:36:41and that fright sometimes is enough.
00:36:42It worries me they're targeting
00:36:44Calvin Miller-esque quality players
00:36:46but Oxford Chamberlain
00:36:47is going to be a different level.
00:36:50They have a different level of player
00:36:52in their dressing room already.
00:36:55They're just a better team.
00:36:56They've got not only the better team,
00:36:58they're psychologically more equipped
00:36:59because they've done it.
00:37:00They're led by a captain
00:37:01that knows how to cajole
00:37:02and get the players to go and perform.
00:37:04Hearts are showed against St Mermyn.
00:37:08They look like a team
00:37:09that's wearing that leadership badge
00:37:12with nervousness.
00:37:13They were down to 10 men.
00:37:14Didn't accept themselves
00:37:15in the first 20 minutes,
00:37:16whatever, right?
00:37:1729 minutes.
00:37:18Right.
00:37:19They just didn't have that same.
00:37:20And by the way,
00:37:21they look vulnerable at set pieces
00:37:22time after time.
00:37:23Yeah.
00:37:24And I think it's going to be too much for them.
00:37:25Okay.
00:37:26Why can't the Rangers win the league?
00:37:27It's not good enough.
00:37:28I'm sorry, but again,
00:37:29having watched them again,
00:37:30I'm waiting to be convinced
00:37:31and like the Rangers fans,
00:37:32on the night,
00:37:33they're not convinced either.
00:37:34Yeah.
00:37:35Because you listen to it,
00:37:36you feel it.
00:37:37They're not convinced.
00:37:38And there's a reason why.
00:37:39Because they're not a great side.
00:37:40They're not even a good side.
00:37:41But they're getting better.
00:37:42Yeah.
00:37:43Okay.
00:37:44Are you sticking with Hearts?
00:37:45No, I've changed my mind.
00:37:46I think Celtic will win the league.
00:37:47You've been saying Hearts all season.
00:37:48I know, but listen.
00:37:49One defeat and you've bottled it.
00:37:51Am I allowed the clause?
00:37:52You will not be invited to hospitality again,
00:37:54man, budge.
00:37:55Do you know that?
00:37:56I just want to know,
00:37:57am I allowed the clause?
00:37:58What's the fundamental reasons
00:37:59why you've changed your mind then?
00:38:00I've changed my mind because quite simply...
00:38:02Injuries, suspensions?
00:38:03No, I've changed my mind quite simply
00:38:05because Celtic were able to bring in players
00:38:08in the Martin and Neil factor.
00:38:09And I think the Martin and Neil factor,
00:38:11more than anything else,
00:38:12is the driving force to it.
00:38:14He's managing to get results
00:38:16with a team that couldn't respond,
00:38:18didn't even want to respond to Brendan Rodgers.
00:38:20And then, of course,
00:38:21the debacle of Wilfred Nancy.
00:38:23Some of the journalists that I speak to,
00:38:25you know, one of them in particular,
00:38:28who...
00:38:29I mean, we are all fans of a football team.
00:38:32But when you have to be a professional
00:38:34in a journalistic sense,
00:38:35you have to look at things
00:38:36and not let your eyes deceive you.
00:38:38But I was speaking to someone
00:38:40who's a Rangers fan,
00:38:41but he's a good journalist,
00:38:42and he just said,
00:38:43if Celtic hadn't signed Wilfred Nancy,
00:38:46they'd be out of sight again.
00:38:47And I thought it was a pertinent point.
00:38:49If they'd let Martin and Neil go on,
00:38:51they wouldn't have lost those games.
00:38:53Rangers would argue
00:38:54if they'd appointed Danny Rowe initially,
00:38:56they'd be clear.
00:38:57Yeah, listen...
00:38:58If the fans could...
00:38:59Absolutely, it's one of those things...
00:39:00I could argue that.
00:39:01I take Andy Newport's point, right?
00:39:03It wasn't Andy Newport,
00:39:04but it was a good line
00:39:05that you're trying that,
00:39:06and he will leather you
00:39:07when he sees you.
00:39:08But anyway, I actually...
00:39:09I've looked at it.
00:39:10I've taken into consideration
00:39:11the Martin and Neil factor.
00:39:13I've looked at the signings,
00:39:15and I just think Celtic
00:39:16have got what it takes to win it.
00:39:18The one caveat to that would be
00:39:21if the atmosphere...
00:39:22If there is a boycott,
00:39:23and it extends into league games,
00:39:25and the atmosphere becomes toxic,
00:39:26and Oxford Chamberlain
00:39:27thinks, what have I right?
00:39:29No.
00:39:30Players then kind of clam up...
00:39:31No, it doesn't matter.
00:39:32I think Martin and Neil
00:39:33being in there stops that.
00:39:34I agree, right?
00:39:35But I mean,
00:39:36devil's advocate here,
00:39:37it's a possibility.
00:39:38And I agree with everything
00:39:39that you said there.
00:39:40Do you think Rangers
00:39:41have got a challenge in them?
00:39:42Well, I've watched Rangers
00:39:44against Hibs,
00:39:45and I've watched them continually.
00:39:46I mean,
00:39:47I've made a real point
00:39:48of trying to see them
00:39:49as much as I possibly can,
00:39:50to see what they've got,
00:39:51to see if they've got a leader,
00:39:53to see if they've got somebody
00:39:54that drives them
00:39:55from the middle of the park,
00:39:56to see if they've got somebody
00:39:57who's creative,
00:39:58and more importantly,
00:39:59to see if they've got
00:40:00a goal scorer.
00:40:01Peter.
00:40:02And I haven't been convinced
00:40:03by any of those points.
00:40:04Do you know who their leader is?
00:40:05Every time I watch them,
00:40:06I look and I go,
00:40:07phew, they're poor.
00:40:08They're a hard watch.
00:40:09I'll tell you the leader.
00:40:10They are a hard watch.
00:40:11He probably doesn't get a job,
00:40:12and he's the biggest influence
00:40:13in that dressing room,
00:40:14but he's not trusted to play.
00:40:15An 18-year-old kid
00:40:16is the one they go to.
00:40:17He's the one they go to
00:40:18to light the spark for them.
00:40:20There is no character
00:40:22anything in that.
00:40:23I don't see anybody else.
00:40:25And Cermiti's living on
00:40:26two goals against Celtic.
00:40:28I mean, he needs to score goals.
00:40:29Watch Majofsky again.
00:40:30Where's his hunger
00:40:31and desire to go
00:40:32and establish yourself
00:40:33in that role?
00:40:34Unconvinced.
00:40:35I'd actually like to see more.
00:40:37I know he does it
00:40:38from time to time.
00:40:39I'd like to see more
00:40:40from Gisama.
00:40:41I think players
00:40:42who've got the potential
00:40:43to go at players
00:40:44and go past them.
00:40:45They've got to be
00:40:46more ruthless
00:40:47than that final third.
00:40:49And I'll tell you right now,
00:40:50see if I was the manager,
00:40:52I'd be saying to Cermiti,
00:40:54listen, don't you bother
00:40:55coming out and linking up play, son.
00:40:56Just you sit in the box
00:40:58and don't move.
00:40:59I don't think he's that type of player.
00:41:00I know, but they need goals.
00:41:01Yeah.
00:41:02They need goals
00:41:03and when they're getting the ball
00:41:04into the box, there's nobody here.
00:41:05It's the quality.
00:41:06Okay, so you go with Cermiti
00:41:07and you're a striker, Sam, right?
00:41:08You've scored goals.
00:41:09Many goals.
00:41:10He doesn't have the instincts.
00:41:11You can see it.
00:41:12It's blatantly obvious, right?
00:41:13He's not a predator.
00:41:14He's not.
00:41:15I think I'd play somebody beside him.
00:41:16But, do you do?
00:41:17Right.
00:41:18I'd play the oxy beside him, right?
00:41:19You can play the boy in Adiri beside him.
00:41:21I don't think he's a lone striker, Cermiti.
00:41:23No, neither do I.
00:41:25And by the way, Gussama had three shots
00:41:27heading out the Brimlin Road stand
00:41:29on Wednesday night
00:41:31and they also slashed crosses
00:41:33left, right and centre.
00:41:34The final product,
00:41:35I'm astonished,
00:41:37they'd turn down a Bertie Monaco for him.
00:41:41I'm sorry.
00:41:42Yeah, I'm not sure that was there.
00:41:43No?
00:41:44No.
00:41:45To be honest with you.
00:41:46I think if somebody offered 13, 14 million for Cermiti,
00:41:49you know,
00:41:50four of them would get into a minibus
00:41:52with a bottle of champagne
00:41:54and drop them there.
00:41:55Oh, so what would Tam be worth of that?
00:41:56It's the value now we're talking about.
00:41:57What's that?
00:41:58How much would Tam,
00:41:59would Tam McManus be worth?
00:42:00Or 100 grand?
00:42:01Yeah.
00:42:02Big Ali Graham filming this morning,
00:42:03how much would a big Ali Graham be worth?
00:42:05In today's market?
00:42:06Yeah.
00:42:07Be 100 grand.
00:42:09Let's stop ripping the back end out of your mates.
00:42:12But anyway,
00:42:13listen,
00:42:14Rangers are three points off the top
00:42:16and you can't dismiss that out of hand.
00:42:19But if somebody starts to score goals,
00:42:21you know, I think the Rangers fans will start to believe.
00:42:23But I'm with you, Tam.
00:42:24I don't think they believe.
00:42:25I don't think they believe that they can win it.
00:42:27But they're there
00:42:29and I think they will want to be taken seriously.
00:42:31It's going to be interesting to see how it all develops,
00:42:33how it all unfolds.
00:42:35They've got Motherwell away.
00:42:37Celtic at home and Hearts at home coming up.
00:42:39I'm glad you mentioned Motherwell
00:42:40because if you're looking at the point gap
00:42:41and you're discounting Hearts now,
00:42:42Motherwell are in the picture.
00:42:44If Hearts are not winning the league,
00:42:46right, you've got Motherwell now,
00:42:48again, in the picture.
00:42:50In the picture,
00:42:51more convincing just now as a team than the Rangers.
00:42:53They are, they are.
00:42:54But I don't think they've got enough.
00:42:55I don't think they've got enough to suddenly
00:42:57just push themselves.
00:42:59I think, listen,
00:43:00they could upset everybody
00:43:01and suddenly get a third,
00:43:02but I think they'll be fourth.
00:43:04So I've gone Celtic,
00:43:05Hearts,
00:43:06Rangers,
00:43:07Motherwell.
00:43:08And I've got Kilmarnock in the play-off,
00:43:11Livingston relegated.
00:43:12I think Rangers will be second.
00:43:13I think Hearts will blow up.
00:43:14Yeah?
00:43:15I think it'll be Celtic,
00:43:16Rangers, Hearts, Motherwell.
00:43:17Where are you going?
00:43:18I agree with you.
00:43:19I agree with you.
00:43:20Right.
00:43:21And the other thing I was going to say, Tam,
00:43:22it saves you from wearing the full Hearts kit.
00:43:24That's not happening.
00:43:25Yeah.
00:43:26Okay.
00:43:27That's the decline just starting now.
00:43:29Yeah.
00:43:30Pretty relaxed now.
00:43:31Big thanks to Siege who says,
00:43:33two ginger bottles for Tam.
00:43:35There you are.
00:43:37There you are.
00:43:38I'm happy with that.
00:43:39That's good enough for me.
00:43:40That's made my day.
00:43:41Yeah.
00:43:42By the way,
00:43:43I like this one from Celt.
00:43:44He says,
00:43:45Brian Wilson says he wants to be more open with the fans.
00:43:47Maybe this is your chance to get your banning order lifted,
00:43:50Peter.
00:43:51I don't think it's going to happen until they all leave.
00:43:55I don't know how long that's going to be,
00:43:56but listen,
00:43:57I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
00:44:00It's one of those things.
00:44:03You just take it on the chin.
00:44:06Now,
00:44:07the games.
00:44:08Airdrie St Mirren.
00:44:09By the time that happens,
00:44:10we'll find out exactly where it's going.
00:44:13Although one positive that Steven Robinson didn't mention was Jacob Devaney.
00:44:16He's not often throwing people in straight from loan deals,
00:44:20but he's well happy with him.
00:44:21Sometimes I think if you're lucky to get a Man United loan player...
00:44:24Difference maker.
00:44:25Difference maker.
00:44:26Yeah.
00:44:27The impact that he made against Hearts.
00:44:28Somebody going prepared to get on the ball and run the game for them.
00:44:31And also,
00:44:32step into that final third.
00:44:33Be prepared to be more confident and creative.
00:44:36It's not one dimensional to a degree,
00:44:39but he mixes things up.
00:44:40Okay.
00:44:41Dundee United against Spartans.
00:44:43I think the general feeling I'm getting from people is,
00:44:46and certainly from some of the United players,
00:44:48I was surprised when they were talking about
00:44:50they're unlikely to finish in the top six.
00:44:52I think it's gone.
00:44:53I think they've blown it.
00:44:55I can't quite work out United.
00:44:57They had a really good start where I thought they were actually going to...
00:45:00I thought they were actually going to be in the top six.
00:45:02They had some good results,
00:45:03and then they've just dropped off injuries as well.
00:45:06But I think they'll have enough to get past Spartans.
00:45:09Just.
00:45:10I think Spartans will give them a game.
00:45:11I think Dundee United are poor defensively.
00:45:13I watched them against Hearts.
00:45:14I watched them against Hibbs the other night.
00:45:16I think they're poor at the back.
00:45:17And I think Spartans can get at them.
00:45:19I think Dundee United will just have enough.
00:45:21But I don't see Dundee United steamrolling them 4 or 5.
00:45:23I think that'll be a tight game.
00:45:24Dundee edging through 2-1.
00:45:26How was that at Spartans game when United beat Spartans last year?
00:45:28They're well organised.
00:45:29Good experience in their team and good legs.
00:45:30Absolutely.
00:45:31And also, it's a gala night for them.
00:45:33Gala game for them.
00:45:34You don't underestimate that kind of element.
00:45:36People going to that as a one-off.
00:45:38Top of League 2.
00:45:39One defeat.
00:45:40Last six.
00:45:41Absolutely.
00:45:42Well run club.
00:45:43Absolutely.
00:45:44Brilliant club.
00:45:45Brilliant story.
00:45:47And like I say, I watched them knock out United last year.
00:45:51It wasn't a shock.
00:45:52These boys can play.
00:45:54OK.
00:45:55What are you going for Dundee United Spartans?
00:45:57Dundee United.
00:45:58Yeah.
00:45:595-0.
00:46:002-6.
00:46:012-1.
00:46:02Listen, it's...
00:46:04Just give us a prediction.
00:46:06Don't do it rough.
00:46:07You're sitting in his seat.
00:46:08Don't live up to him.
00:46:09United 3-0.
00:46:103-0.
00:46:112-1.
00:46:122-1.
00:46:13Yeah.
00:46:14OK.
00:46:15I'll go 2-1 with you, Tam.
00:46:16Dunfermline against Kelty Hearts after pumping your side out of the competition.
00:46:19Yeah.
00:46:20I think he'll fancy it.
00:46:21I think that's a great draw for them.
00:46:22No disrespect to Kelty Hearts, but he's...
00:46:26I think he's got a plan there at Dunfermline, Neil Lennon.
00:46:29Yeah.
00:46:30I don't see any problems here.
00:46:31I think Dunfermline were really impressive against Hibbs.
00:46:33They've been a wee bit inconsistent in the league.
00:46:36They've got a very young side.
00:46:37I think with young players you get that inconsistency
00:46:39and they have been up and down this season in the league,
00:46:41but I don't see them struggling against Kelty Hearts.
00:46:44I nearly bought them in the league one
00:46:45and I think they'll steamroll them.
00:46:47I think they'll win that comfortably.
00:46:48Three or four.
00:46:49Yeah.
00:46:50I agree with you on that, Tam.
00:46:51What about yourself?
00:46:52Every word.
00:46:53Yeah.
00:46:54Not going to argue with us on that.
00:46:55OK.
00:46:56Elgin City sitting 8th in the league 2 are taking on Partick Thistle.
00:46:58Despite having a good draw against Spartans.
00:47:01Yeah.
00:47:02It's a home tie.
00:47:03Yeah, but the Jags.
00:47:04Are the Jags surprising everybody this year?
00:47:07They are.
00:47:08Not me.
00:47:09I've got a good manager, a good assistant.
00:47:11They have got a squad which has got a good balance.
00:47:15They've got good experience in there.
00:47:17And by the way, that's a great trip for the Thistle fans.
00:47:19I know a lot of them are going up there.
00:47:21Great town to visit for a night out.
00:47:22Yeah.
00:47:23Apparently Aberdeen.
00:47:24And it's...
00:47:26By the way, you struggle on the tube going back from some place to Glasgow.
00:47:31What chance have you got going to Aberdeen?
00:47:32Universally.
00:47:33Because you're going to have to go up there soon.
00:47:34Oh, I'm OK.
00:47:35I'll say universally hated.
00:47:36Yes.
00:47:37Let's not be beating about the bush though.
00:47:38Thistle are going to win that by...
00:47:39Comfortably.
00:47:40Yeah.
00:47:41It's a strange combination, but a brilliant one.
00:47:42Because we're lucky we have Alec Ray here on the Monday.
00:47:43And, you know, he's been a brilliant signing for us.
00:47:44Mark Wilson is a boy who's got a clear plan, knows what he wants.
00:47:50Alec follows it to the T as well with him.
00:47:52And he's managed to get the best.
00:47:53And he's been a brilliant signing for us.
00:47:55Mark Wilson is a boy who's got a clear plan, knows what he wants.
00:47:58Alec follows it to the T as well with him.
00:47:59And he's managed to get the best out of that squad.
00:48:00They're just off the pace of St Johnston.
00:48:01Not by...
00:48:02I think it's a couple of points.
00:48:03And they've played a game more.
00:48:04I think they're punching well above their weight, Pathy Thistle.
00:48:05I don't think they'll have the biggest budget in the league by a long shot.
00:48:06And I think St Johnston are splashing cash.
00:48:09I think they're heavy favourites to win the league.
00:48:11And Thistle are going toe to toe with them.
00:48:12Thistle have built a good squad.
00:48:13It's been a brilliant signing for us.
00:48:14It's been a brilliant signing for us.
00:48:15Mark Wilson is a boy who's got a clear plan, knows what he wants.
00:48:17Alec follows it to the T as well with him.
00:48:18I think St Johnston are splashing cash.
00:48:22I think they're heavy favourites to win the league.
00:48:24And Thistle are going toe to toe with them.
00:48:26Thistle have built a good squad.
00:48:28A small squad, but a good squad.
00:48:29A good 13-14 of experience.
00:48:32And guys like Tony Watt and Samuel.
00:48:34So I think they'll go up there.
00:48:35And as Patsy said, they'll have a good Thistle support travelling up there.
00:48:38And they'll win that comfortably.
00:48:40Kenny, who's a big Aberdeen fan, says,
00:48:42Gordon goes to Aberdeen for the Rangers games.
00:48:44Do you see what Kenny's doing there?
00:48:46Yeah.
00:48:47He's just throwing it out there at Patsy.
00:48:49He's got an allegiance towards Rangers.
00:48:50At least he doesn't know me very well.
00:48:52Yeah.
00:48:53So many, even your family are wondering where your allegiances lie.
00:48:57Celtic versus Dundee.
00:48:59Dyson Maeda scored the last time these two sides met.
00:49:03It was tight.
00:49:04It was 1-0.
00:49:05Of course, we're all well aware of Steven Presley getting a 2-0 win up at Denns Park.
00:49:11I think I'm mightily impressed with what Steven's doing at Dundee now.
00:49:15Yes.
00:49:16And I watched him against St Mirland on Saturday.
00:49:18And again, you can see the fundamentals that he understands are not going to pull up trees,
00:49:23but they're going to be good enough to be steady, not get slapped about.
00:49:27Physical side.
00:49:28Pick up points.
00:49:30Got one on Saturday in Paisley.
00:49:32Happy with it.
00:49:33But see when the transfer window shuts, there's a different feeling around a dressing room.
00:49:39It stabilises things.
00:49:40He's made a few signings.
00:49:41Scott Wright was a good one.
00:49:43Brilliant signing.
00:49:44Yeah.
00:49:45A guy with another chance of platforming going, deliver.
00:49:46Because that's a guy with definitely talent, right?
00:49:48He just needs the right environment for it, maybe, that's going to be there.
00:49:51Yeah.
00:49:52But Celtic, windows shut, players settle down.
00:49:56I can't wait to see his formation.
00:49:58Can you?
00:49:59I don't know.
00:50:00I'm curious to see now that Martin's got the windows shut.
00:50:04Come on, guys.
00:50:05Dundee.
00:50:06Steven Presley will have a well organised.
00:50:074-3.
00:50:08Go back to the nonce.
00:50:09Not a chance.
00:50:10No.
00:50:11He'll go...
00:50:12Well, who do you think he's going to play?
00:50:14You've already suggested that Engels is going to drop out and...
00:50:19I don't think immediately.
00:50:20I don't think immediately.
00:50:21But...
00:50:24Does he stick with the two wide players in Vanchara?
00:50:27Or does he go with the two up front?
00:50:28He's got an actual fit now.
00:50:30Interesting to see.
00:50:31But he's got plenty of options now.
00:50:33I think that's what Celtic needed.
00:50:34They needed options.
00:50:35He was kind of stuck to that same formation.
00:50:37But now he's brought some attacking players in.
00:50:39He's got options to change it up.
00:50:41And I'm sure the Celtic supporters would like to see a Scottish Cup tie at home to Dundee.
00:50:45Maybe going with two strikers.
00:50:47Do you see that, Patsy?
00:50:51Erm...
00:50:52I think I can.
00:50:53I think it kind of falls into the other lap actually.
00:50:55I think he's always played with two strikers.
00:50:56He's not had that option at Celtic up until now.
00:50:58And do you know what?
00:50:59The big German has got Chris Sutton-esque qualities.
00:51:02He has.
00:51:04Steady.
00:51:05He has.
00:51:06Yeah.
00:51:07He has.
00:51:08He's Czech maybe.
00:51:09Eh?
00:51:10He's Czech.
00:51:11But he's come from Germany.
00:51:12Yeah.
00:51:13But...
00:51:14It's what's up to them all the other day.
00:51:15Yeah.
00:51:16Eh?
00:51:17But I have to say though, he's a long way off Chris Sutton.
00:51:19He's been covering up for his flaws for an hour.
00:51:21I know.
00:51:22He's got a lovely little touch.
00:51:24He scored a lovely goal against Falkirk.
00:51:26I'm just curious to see where he plays the likes of Joel and Vuka.
00:51:30Where does he fit into it?
00:51:32What does he do?
00:51:34What does he do with Arnie Engels if Oxlade-Chamberlain suddenly comes into the frame?
00:51:40He's got...
00:51:41He's got options there.
00:51:42He's a junior.
00:51:43He's a striker.
00:51:44Yeah.
00:51:45He could play him if he's impressed.
00:51:46He could play him at Kvanchara.
00:51:48He's got...
00:51:49He's got plenty of options now in the forward areas.
00:51:51Yeah.
00:51:52Real competition.
00:51:53Does it make a difference with the Scottish Cup, Ty?
00:51:56I don't...
00:51:57I think he knows that Dundee are going to come and sit in.
00:51:59Yeah.
00:52:00Do you know what I mean?
00:52:01It's also...
00:52:02Where does...
00:52:03I mean Benjamin Arthur hasn't come in just to sit on the bench.
00:52:04Mm.
00:52:05Who drops out there?
00:52:06Is it...
00:52:07Is it...
00:52:08Is it suddenly a...
00:52:09A situation where he...
00:52:10He takes the role alongside Scales?
00:52:11I don't know.
00:52:12He might give...
00:52:13He might give some of them a wee run out.
00:52:14That's my point.
00:52:15I don't know.
00:52:16Okay.
00:52:17Yeah.
00:52:18Again, not a tanking.
00:52:20I think Dundee will be organised under Elvis.
00:52:222-0.
00:52:23Yeah.
00:52:24Absolutely.
00:52:25Elvis has got them stabilised and doing the basics well.
00:52:28That'll be a hard...
00:52:29It could be a slow grinder.
00:52:31Okay.
00:52:32I'm interested in your prediction on this one.
00:52:33Rangers unbeaten in 10 matches domestically.
00:52:36Queen's lost to Ross County last time in the league.
00:52:39But I think this could be one of those ones where Rangers do get an opportunity
00:52:44to maybe get it comfortable before having any worries.
00:52:47Yeah.
00:52:48And Lightning's not going to strike twice.
00:52:49Especially with a Queen's Park team that are not the force that they were when they
00:52:51went and shocked them last year.
00:52:53And again, it's a good reminder for Rangers what can happen.
00:52:56Again, Rangers need to go and convince.
00:52:59Go and assert themselves early.
00:53:02Make it easier than it probably will be.
00:53:04Because you can see again an unconvincing Rangers team making life difficult and going
00:53:10to the same individuals to try and pull in it all.
00:53:123-0 Rangers.
00:53:134.
00:53:144.
00:53:15Okay.
00:53:16Stenis Muir Falk at the last of the games.
00:53:17Obviously Aberdeen against Motherwell's Besponed.
00:53:20Stenis second in League One.
00:53:22They've only lost one in the last seven.
00:53:24And of course, we all know how good Falkirk are.
00:53:27I'm going to go for a wee upset here.
00:53:29Wow.
00:53:30Wow.
00:53:31I'm going to go for Stenis Muir to put Falkirk out.
00:53:34To put Falkirk out of the cup?
00:53:35Yeah.
00:53:36Wow.
00:53:37There you are.
00:53:38What are you going 2-1?
00:53:39I'm going to go extra time.
00:53:40Penalties.
00:53:41Stenny.
00:53:42It's bold.
00:53:43It is bold.
00:53:44It is bold but I don't know.
00:53:45Stenis Muir.
00:53:46Excellent this season.
00:53:47Excellent.
00:53:48Beating Morton 4-0 at home.
00:53:49Yes.
00:53:50Momentum.
00:53:51Falkirk.
00:53:52I don't know.
00:53:53They've got a lot of guys there waiting to get a game.
00:53:56He's been bold.
00:53:57He's gone Stenis Muir to winning penalties.
00:53:59Nonsense.
00:54:00Yeah.
00:54:01Same here.
00:54:02Falkirk to win by a couple.
00:54:04Three.
00:54:05Yeah.
00:54:06Okay.
00:54:07Give us your thoughts on it for the Scottish Cups.
00:54:08Always a joy with these things.
00:54:10We like to know exactly what you think is going to happen with the Scottish Cup ties
00:54:14over the weekend.
00:54:15Keep it locked to PLZ Soccer's social media channels.
00:54:19We'll keep you right up to date with the games as they unfold as well.
00:54:23And on Monday of course Alec Ray will be here with us in the studio to reflect on not
00:54:27only Partick Thistle but the other matches.
00:54:29And you'll probably have a development on PLZ Soccer's social media with regards to Alex
00:54:34Oxlade-Chamberlain if he indeed puts pen to paper.
00:54:38Bearing in mind he's got a medical tomorrow according to Celtic manager Martin O'Neill.
00:54:44Don't forget also as we told you at the top of the programme.
00:54:49It's certainly something to look forward to.
00:54:51The road to the World Cup.
00:54:52We're going to be doing a lot of things with the World Cup.
00:54:54Hopefully we'll be there as well for the three games involving Haiti, Morocco and Brazil
00:55:01for Scotland.
00:55:02I noticed a number of Scottish fans filled out the wrong part of the application.
00:55:07Hopefully you didn't.
00:55:08No, that's exactly what I was just about to say to you.
00:55:11To try and get to the games.
00:55:13There's going to be a lot of fans who may be upset at not getting a ticket but they certainly
00:55:17won't be upset if they're out in America enjoying the joys of Boston and Miami as well.
00:55:23It's going to be absolutely magnificent.
00:55:25And the countdown to that we're going to be doing lots of features around Scotland heading
00:55:30to the World Cup.
00:55:31And one of them is the Doubletree Hilton in Cambridge Street in Glasgow.
00:55:34April 16th, it's a Thursday night, countdown with former Scotland manager Gordon Strachan,
00:55:39Alex McLeish and former assistant coach Mark McGee.
00:55:42They'll be giving us tales from the Fergie years.
00:55:45They'll also be talking about old firm showdowns, dressing room banter and of course Scotland
00:55:50in particular.
00:55:51It's going to be a really good, fun-filled night.
00:55:53The three of them are absolutely, well listen, I'd take them into the trenches.
00:55:57The three of them are certainly some of the best people.
00:56:00But if I could think of people that are really, you know how some people you just meet in
00:56:04life partially that you just absolutely enjoy their company.
00:56:08Walter Smith was like that.
00:56:10Thoroughly engaging, great, good chat.
00:56:13Tam Burns obviously.
00:56:15McGee, McLeish, Strachan.
00:56:18Couldn't think of anything better.
00:56:19Absolutely brilliant.
00:56:20Absolute privilege to get the insight and so much fun in all of them as well.
00:56:26Yeah.
00:56:27And again, it's a perception that people maybe don't see until they get that opportunity.
00:56:30One not to miss.
00:56:32Yeah, absolutely.
00:56:33Lots more of these.
00:56:34Same with me with Patsy.
00:56:35I always thought Patsy was a bit of an ass.
00:56:37A moron.
00:56:38Yeah, a bit of an ass, but once I met him, totally confirmed it.
00:56:41You were convinced!
00:56:43Well done, well done Tam.
00:56:45I was wondering where you were going with that, but nevertheless.
00:56:47Hold you into the best team, Tam.
00:56:48Yeah, absolutely.
00:56:49His face lit up when he knew-
00:56:50How long have we got?
00:56:51Did I take him outside and leather him?
00:56:52Well, I was going to say to you, his face lit up when he knew you were on because he
00:56:55knew it was just going to be grenade after grenade and you haven't let us down.
00:56:58If you want to go to that night, I'm looking forward to it myself.
00:57:01Email beth at plzsoccer.com and we'll give you a link across our social media to get involved.
00:57:07It's going to be absolutely fabulous.
00:57:09Okay, what about the-
00:57:10I don't know, some people will be looking and thinking to themselves, Mark McGee.
00:57:14There is obviously, you know, some people who didn't like his stint at Aberdeen's, maybe
00:57:19second time around at Motherwell.
00:57:20It didn't quite go according to plan, but I couldn't, I couldn't vouch for him.
00:57:24I couldn't, you know, he's such a brilliant lad.
00:57:27I love him.
00:57:28So do I.
00:57:29And I'd written a column a week when he was at Den's and it wasn't a complimentary column.
00:57:35It was just, this movie has to change it.
00:57:37He's in the wrong one.
00:57:38He should never be the manager, blah-de-blah.
00:57:40I'm at Celtic Park on a Saturday and he sends me a text message.
00:57:44It wasn't very polite.
00:57:45Right.
00:57:46It basically ordered me up to Den's Park on the Monday to see him face.
00:57:49Yes, yes.
00:57:50I didn't want to do that.
00:57:51Because you're a coward.
00:57:52Thankfully he gets sacked on a Sunday.
00:57:56I'll mention to him, we'll see if we can sort that out.
00:57:59Do you want me to put a living room?
00:58:00I'll have to go up, thank you Lord.
00:58:02He's a moron, isn't he?
00:58:03You're right, Tom.
00:58:05Okay.
00:58:06The quiz, courtesy of Elite Choinery and Fire Protection, was how many, how many clubs,
00:58:13professional clubs, has Ronaldo played for in his career?
00:58:18And it looks as if he could be moving on to club number eight, because he's in seven.
00:58:23Right again, eh?
00:58:24And one of them was Sporting Lisbon B, who actually are a professional.
00:58:27I had factored that in you.
00:58:28Yeah, I'm sure you did.
00:58:30Seven clubs for Ronaldo.
00:58:31And it looks as if...
00:58:32Genderman.
00:58:33It looks as if he could be engineering his departure from there as well.
00:58:36He's fallen out.
00:58:37Not a fan of him.
00:58:38No?
00:58:39No, I don't like him at all.
00:58:40Really?
00:58:41No, I don't like him.
00:58:42Too big an ego for me.
00:58:43Well, listen...
00:58:44Ego apart.
00:58:45Not a team player.
00:58:46Team Messi all day.
00:58:47Yeah?
00:58:48Yep.
00:58:49I think when Ronaldo, I think when he hangs up his boots and time moves on I think...
00:58:52It's all about Ronaldo.
00:58:53It's all about him.
00:58:54Well, people...
00:58:55Give me that all day long if he's delivered what he's...
00:58:57Right, I'm not...
00:58:58Give me that all day long.
00:58:59Some of the biggest egos that you've played with, certainly the ones that I've played
00:59:02with, it was crucial in their make-up.
00:59:05Yeah.
00:59:06To get them to where they wanted to actually be.
00:59:08And he's got the biggest ego because he's done the best.
00:59:11He's like Ibrahimovic.
00:59:12That mould of player...
00:59:14It's all about me.
00:59:15Confidence, yeah.
00:59:16I think history will look back on Ronaldo with great fondness and of course appreciation
00:59:23of what he's achieved.
00:59:24I think he's a wonderful player.
00:59:26And I think for all of us it's a joy that we've actually been...
00:59:29You know, when I think of living my life and the amount of people that we've been
00:59:32lucky to see in sporting history.
00:59:35You're Roger Federer's, you're Michael Jordan's, you're Tom Brady's, you're Ronaldo's,
00:59:40your Messi's...
00:59:41I don't see another Ronaldo or Messi now.
00:59:43No.
00:59:44You never know.
00:59:45Not at this moment but there will be somebody...
00:59:47You see anybody like that then?
00:59:48Somebody will be born shortly that's going to light it up for another generation.
00:59:51I'm out.
00:59:52Yeah.
00:59:53Well, okay.
