00:52Yara there is a content creator, a brand strategist, and a creator,
00:58who is one of the notable brands like Earpops, Matias, Valentino, Goulet, and the government's end of the queen.
01:05Yara is a big following on TikTok and Instagram by sharing styling videos and educational content on Black brands in the fashion industry.
01:15Yara, welcome here.
01:16Yara, thank you.
01:17Yara, thank you.
01:18Next we have Nadia, who is known on TikTok as Slim Reaper Official.
01:23So, Nadia 20 is a self-taught seamstress and designer.
01:29She specializes in transforming black brands to possible titles such as,
01:33backpacks, when we get into it, basketballs, umbrellas, and reachouts into queer-friendly fashion pieces.
01:40Her famous art scene at $15 million worldwide is, could never afford designer, that's why I became both of Nadia.
01:48Some of these are my people who are today.
01:52I'm loving the energy.
01:54So first, before we jump into painting this, you know I love a conversation, but I'm about to get into something really quick.
02:00Can you both walk me through your thing?
02:02We're going to do a little background music picture.
02:05Who are we wearing? What is cake giving?
02:08Sorry to be the piano.
02:10Of course, back to my intent to tell.
02:12So I think earrings are short-lived.
02:14The talk scene at LA's base brand called a private to go to.
02:17The hands of a London base brand called AOT.
02:20And of course, there seems not to have a thrown angle.
02:22And that's what we're, of course, in the painting.
02:24Oh, it's good.
02:25What is this big one?
02:26An OT?
02:27Tell me, girl.
02:28Tell me.
02:29How do you know me? What do you hear me saying?
02:31Well, I didn't get the 10-day limo.
02:33So I decided to be literally in my bag.
02:36I am wearing my favorite black designer, which is myself.
02:40And you have these backpacks, pants on, and then a backpack bra that I made entirely from backpacks.
02:46And I do have this little purse that I brought with me.
02:49It's my phone because I don't need it. I'm black.
02:52I'm black.
02:53I'm black.
02:54I'm black.
02:55I'm black.
02:56I'm black.
02:57I love that.
02:58So now let's begin.
02:59I'd love to talk to you both about the importance of celebrating your future and what it means for you to be recognized for your content.
03:05How is TikTok help you celebrate who you are into your fashion profession?
03:10How do you return with you?
03:11How do you return with you?
03:12That is such a wonderful, overwhelming question.
03:15Because I am, oh my gosh, TikTok has literally, TikTok has literally changed my entire life.
03:22This is everything that I've ever wanted to do.
03:25And TikTok is a platform that caused me to grow in such a rapid rain.
03:31I don't want to compare to other platforms, but other platforms where I grow right, because it is quick.
03:37But I, like, TikTok workers are just like so amazing.
03:40So I'm so thankful for TikTok and their platforms are giving me this platform.
03:45So you're serious.
03:46This is different from what you appear on.
03:48I'm a TV site.
03:49Like, people at TikTok, they're all listening to you guys right now.
03:51I just wanted to change my life in the past two years.
03:53And of course, I love life designers and my whole friends.
03:56But also, I'm going to just be creative fully and not have any problems I've expected.
04:00I mean, that's why I think the platform I want is just to know what people have to do.
04:04Yeah, I love that.
04:05Like, freedom.
04:06Yeah, freedom.
04:07It's fair.
04:08It's fair to me.
04:09It's fair to me.
04:10I love that.
04:11I love that.
04:12So, all of you have become major special icons by thousands and thousands of people.
04:17What are some of your plans that are on the screen that you use both on and off TikTok?
04:22That's a really good question.
04:23I'm going to tell you, I love Deonna Taylor, Chris Brown, you're amazing.
04:32You're such an amazing, oh my gosh, you're awesome.
04:35So I love her page.
04:36I love watching her TikTok as well.
04:38So, yeah.
04:39And I just like, it was like, Deonna Taylor, Chris Brown, so figuring it out with her passion
04:43and inspires me.
04:44So, just to make outside the box, I'm going to get into what I wanted from my mind dress,
04:49even with the black colors, and my camera on the box, but I don't like it.
04:53So, I go with it.
04:54I agree.
04:55I love Deonna Taylor, too.
04:56So, I just like what it means to be my woman in life.
04:59Yes.
05:00And also, maybe a, I love Rihanna, of course, recording this is not a great match.
05:05It's interesting.
05:06And then, I was like, I'm sure, like, it's not a great match.
05:09I just, um, because you did it in the part of my dreams and does it.
05:12Um, yeah.
05:13I love Rihanna.
05:14I love Rihanna.
05:15I love Rihanna.
05:16I love Rihanna.
05:17I think the other great song is like her.
05:19Yeah.
05:20And I love for her.
05:21What do you say?
05:22So, Nadia, this question's now for you.
05:24As a designer yourself, what sparks your creative process?
05:27And how did you get started with a song that was a little bit of that story?
05:31I'd love to.
05:32This is my favorite story to tell.
05:34Um, everything sparks my creative process.
05:37The fact that I don't see things as what they are and what they could be.
05:41And that gives me a trouble with, like, people.
05:43But as far as, um, everything else in the creative world, it's so amazing.
05:47It's like an excellent story.
05:49So, you're like, oh, that's my strength.
05:50So, I'm like, I'm gonna get you scared.
05:53And I do that with nearly everything.
05:55Talons, basketballs, et cetera.
05:58So, really, anything can inspire my creative process.
06:01So, just watch out if you're lucky to your place.
06:03It's risky.
06:06That's wonderful.
06:07That's, that's amazing.
06:09I love that so much.
06:10Now, I'd love to discuss the importance of supporting bodybuilding fashion.
06:14This topic remains at the forefront of the future conversation.
06:17As far as culture and bodybuilding, like yourselves, continue to try and fashion.
06:21And the biggest trends on and off the runway.
06:24Here, I'm going to start with you.
06:26We know we can head to your page for the latest videos.
06:29As far as, as you've got to see something for bodybuilding brands.
06:32How have you seen the fashion space transform for bodybuilding brands?
06:36And are there any individual that you see causing a real shift?
06:40That's a good question.
06:41You know, I would say, because in TikTok, we have more access and reach than bodybuilding.
06:46I think when I started two years ago.
06:48And I see a lot of people talking about a nice smart range.
06:51I mean, like, what we can do in a new department.
06:53And so, some sharing, like, a great issue of that series.
06:56I started on TikTok.
06:57I've been seeing more people investing more to my brand.
07:00And I'm just going to think of other people wanting to share reports.
07:02So, I think it was about all this, like, just loading.
07:05And then, the second part of this is a great question.
07:08As far as what I'm excited to see more of, um, I think we all know the impact of the brands I've
07:13so far.
07:14And there's a lot of attention around it.
07:15And then, I'm just going to say, you know, I'm interested in it.
07:16And, right.
07:17But, I'd love to see the hockey hockey club.
07:19And, you know, especially if you're not the brands I need, but I'm going to need less
07:23to me.
07:24And, the hockey songs have been working right now.
07:26So, I'd love to see more of us in those spaces.
07:28And, you know, the CFTA, you know, they're just just not going to choose that more
07:31than working less than the forefront.
07:33I couldn't agree more.
07:35In terms of the hockey song is over myself.
07:37I would love to see more.
07:38And, of course, a bunch of men as well.
07:40Yeah.
07:41Yeah.
07:42So, Nidia, shifting to you, why do you feel it's important as a community if you've
07:47really worked by black home brands and black designers?
07:50How do you explain yourself?
07:51Yeah, I was waiting for that question.
07:53It's right.
07:54I feel like the black community is a family.
07:57And, while we've all over before, it takes a village.
08:01So, of course, I need to fit myself, you need to fit yourself.
08:04But, I'm a little bit of ourselves, of course, when we're together.
08:08And, also, I love that we treat each other like a family.
08:11And, some kind of black bodies on the walls.
08:14You know what I mean?
08:15Brothers and sisters can just rally around me and just make sure I'm protected.
08:19And, my business is like my baby.
08:21She doesn't want to make it with the baby's and family.
08:23And, nobody gets to touch us.
08:25I don't let anybody touch.
08:26You know what I mean?
08:27Each creator's family.
08:28And, just make sure you're protected if you can get down from them.
08:30I love that.
08:31I love that.
08:32I love the.
08:33I love that.
08:34It's just like a pair of...
08:35Yeah, let's say like, I hate a drink in the family.
08:37I expect this to be so much as it's a community.
08:39Like, all of us know each other.
08:40We're really disappointed to see each other.
08:41And, you know, as a great time.
08:43And, you know, I think it's so good.
08:44And, I don't know.
08:45And, like, except I just said this person,
08:48Hey, your Instagram, get your TikTok.
08:49I'll call you right away because it's best to support.
08:51We don't get them support outside of these spaces.
08:53So, it's a part of us know each other.
08:55We have a good example of each other.
08:56We have a good example of each other.
08:57Yeah, we have a good example of each other.
08:58We support with your dog.
08:59We support with your, where it is your page.
09:01We're going to just support them as a community.
09:03These are really good.
09:04Yeah.
09:05And, you know, we're giving quotes that.
09:07And, you know, I love that.
09:09Now, what will you say to other creators or prospective designers
09:14who are just starting out or are interested in making their own work and fashion?
09:17Here, we're starting to get out.
09:19I'm really sorry to say about the quotes that I quoted.
09:21But, it's just enough.
09:23I'll post that video on TikTok.
09:25It is going to be perfect.
09:27Your voice is important.
09:28I think especially as a boy creator,
09:30there's only so many of those on these platforms
09:32that it would be important for you to just share
09:34and share some content of people with them because, like,
09:37there's a new thing about men.
09:38So, don't worry about a girl that's most of them.
09:41She's a detective here.
09:43And, I'm just going to get back on what she said.
09:45I can't say anything better.
09:46Forget the embarrassment, the anxiety,
09:49all the questions you may have before you post.
09:52Practice things perfect.
09:53So, if you don't start, I'm going to get better.
09:56Post, post, post.
09:57If you're to the brainer, post.
09:58Then, make the videos.
09:59Save them in your dress.
10:00Like, just if you look forward to your group,
10:03at the end of the day,
10:04when you're able to look at, like, your first two videos,
10:06and you're like, man, you're doing something.
10:08Let me put that in private.
10:09But, just close to us.
10:11It's close to the end of the day,
10:12and then it really is weird.
10:13I think it never gets me so loud.
10:15Though, there's always something new to do,
10:17something new to the team.
10:18So, it'll never get easier.
10:19You just don't continue to, to meet your goals,
10:22and then make more goals for yourself.
10:24So, it's just smart game and help.
10:26I love that.
10:27There's an analogy I always think of when I'm telling people
10:30to get started on TikTok.
10:31I was like, when you think of it,
10:33this is your first day, that's the way you think you want it on.
10:35I don't know.
10:36Your first day you think is never going to be successful.
10:38Which, as you continue to do it, you have more and more goals around.
10:41Keep that in mind for yourself,
10:43as you can start with any journey,
10:45not just your first TikTok.
10:46What is writing that book, starting your business?
10:48Really just take that first step.
10:50It may not be the most perfect step,
10:52but it's the first step of a long journey towards your own success.
10:55Yeah, it's not a long journey towards your own success.
10:57It's a long journey towards your college,
10:58or she came up to a close step.
11:00I said, why don't you go?
11:01Yeah, you have to pick it up, you have to pick it up,
11:02you have to pick it up, you have to pick it up.
11:03I'm serious.
11:04Yeah, exactly.
11:05Exactly.
11:06I love that.
11:07I love to.
11:08You're alibis.
11:09She addressed this topic that has been taught the one for a lot of our creators,
11:11especially those in quiet community.
11:13The importance of getting credit through original content and ideas.
11:16The idea of contribution has been at the forefront of the TikTok creator experience for some time,
11:21with many of our creators getting credit within their TikTok versions.
11:25but we listened to the feedback we got from our 5 creator community and recognized this wasn't the most efficient way to credit the creators.
11:33Earlier this year, we began rolling out new enough features that allow, can encourage the creators to inspire the originator
11:40with a dance they might be doing, a song they may be singing, or any other trend that has inspired my other creator.
11:46While I'm proud of these new crediting tools, I know y'all know there's a lot more work to do, and these are just the start.
11:54Now, I'd love to hear each of your perspectives on the importance of giving credit where credit is due.
11:59But, this is a two-part question, so from God, calling Money and Double Jeopardy,
12:04how is TikTok also being a young platform to express your blackness and be recognized for your work?
12:09Here, let me start with you.
12:11Okay, so we're ready to intersperse.
12:13We're ready to intersperse, and then I'm going to tell you to express your blackness.
12:16Okay, so, it's one of the most heartbreaking things that I see in my life,
12:21and then there's, this line that's been copied and stolen from, but a special brand is more like a larger fashion house.
12:28And so I think, as a free of myself, as someone who's always supporting each other,
12:32like I said, it's important for me to listen to people in the distance, and I let people know.
12:35You kind of all know what kind of they speak, this work is being done.
12:39So, I think the problem is, rather, sharing your voice, like, people don't listen, like,
12:44this isn't, this is an indicator, it's a result of brand.
12:47This is not okay.
12:48So, one of the, I guess, I've been exposed to that brand, so to see.
12:53So, I think that's kind of important, because I think, if you have to feel like that,
12:56this is very responsible for some of the pieces of content and these brands,
13:00I'll be on the side.
13:02My heart's pressing, yeah, this is very harder.
13:05My heart's expressing my creativity, especially, um, I think for me,
13:08the big part is that there's so many of my gladness,
13:11whether that means perfection, design, or history.
13:14I think one of my favorite, um, criticals in my process is my passion history,
13:18because I mean, it goes into, like, the culture and how, you know,
13:21specific trends or ideas of what behind how the strategy has become,
13:24and how the best behind how all the creatives.
13:27So, I think, that's kind of what I love to support you tomorrow,
13:30but I think I just want to find you recently.
13:32I'm looking at her, because that's my way of expressing myself as to research.
13:36I love that sense of it so much, and even, even as better it is,
13:39because you're not necessarily out of value to share, share from the world.
13:42No, you're not yet.
13:43Okay, so, my memory is not that great, so I don't want them to help you.
13:47I don't want them to help you. I don't want them to help you.
13:48I don't want them to help you on the first part.
13:49I don't want you from the same part.
13:50No, I'm going to be completely honest.
13:52I don't want them to help you on the first part.
13:53I don't want you from the same part.
13:54I don't want them to help you on Twitter, but it's so cool.
13:55And just for getting to tag and just show appreciation to the person
14:00who mine here was inspired by.
14:02I believe it's so important, especially to credit what designers
14:07used to be, for just now being able to evolve our platform.
14:11So there were so many things that I think is on the credit platform going on the screen
14:15I don't know how many years that were just now being able to result.
14:20I think it's important to be talking to each other, to get it all the time, even if it's just a little bit of a choice, just make sure that you credit that desire so that you can start to
14:29make it better evolve. My form is that it's one of the creators. I'll just start to the second part.
14:35More about it.
14:37Oh, oh, wow. Okay, so I'm so excited that TikTok has given me this platform because before TikTok gave me this platform that allowed me to express myself, I thought it was just me in this world.
14:50Like, you know, I'm like, it was just me in this city. I wear these hair clothes and everyone's like, what are you doing? Like, I don't understand what you're doing.
14:58So I just started to try to address the world. So I'm like, well, I don't want to cause that much attention to myself.
15:03So it's like I started posting TikToks and my community found anything. TikTok helped my community to be able to find me.
15:09People were just like, it's amazing. I love it. I want it. So it just encouraged me and helped me even more to just dive into myself again and started to just still be creative and be myself.
15:19and helped me out outside. You know what I mean? Interferences.
15:24I love that.
15:25How'd I do with the, uh, recommendation?
15:27Yeah, did I do okay?
15:28No, you did okay. You did well.
15:30That was a good point. That was a good point.
15:32And what it took for you is just, what was that first movement for you that basically sparked an iron movement for you on TikTok where you found your community?
15:40Um, for both of you and she mostly started to do again.
15:42Why not? Why not?
15:43Why not?
15:44Because I don't miss a shot.
15:45So, the first movement higher on TikTok.
15:48And in my community, I'm not a member of the community.
15:52But it was still cool.
15:53All the same.
15:54Like, people were getting their hands.
15:55Like, I just pulled all over again.
15:57But it really happened and I just kept going.
15:59Because first of all, I said that makes you feel better good.
16:01I got a lot of feedback.
16:02So, the first time, like, I saw people going, this is amazing.
16:06I'm, like, posting.
16:07I've sent it to this person.
16:08I've sent it to that person.
16:09Oh my gosh.
16:10This is such a beautiful moment for me.
16:11I'm, like, I feel so seen.
16:13So, I'm not, like, you know what I mean?
16:15I don't feel so open in this world anymore.
16:17Like, there were more people that I couldn't help with.
16:21And I'm kind of just in my team.
16:23You know?
16:24So, I felt so amazing.
16:25That's terrifying.
16:26I feel like you're going to find your tribe.
16:29Like, most of those things are the first time I met my tribe.
16:31Like, college went on to.
16:33And it was all fun.
16:35But eventually, when I went viral, you know, across the globe,
16:39I love to get through a lot of designers.
16:41People who have never heard of this brand before.
16:43And you know, the questions that's bad.
16:45You said, well, it's the fun.
16:46Well, as you should know.
16:47And I really thought that I think, like,
16:50that's something that they don't know about.
16:52And it wasn't, like, satisfaction from me.
16:54It's like, you know, showcasing the brand.
16:56Because the product is different.
16:57Like, yes, no, I'm just not sure.
16:59But the product is for itself.
17:00I'm just kind of, like, giving you,
17:02creating that experience for you so you can see how cool it is.
17:05And I just love being like,
17:06I don't know when you see some of them.
17:07But the delphi, or, like, the fact that you all still have,
17:09or a piece that you all see that, like,
17:11it's like, you came from the same page into something community.
17:13So that's why I really like a lot of fun.
17:15That's good.
17:16And we're all together supporting each other.
17:19Like, you're building a sense of community and a village,
17:21and you can then find your community.
17:22Yes, yes.
17:23You don't see here.
17:24Yes.
17:25And you can find new people,
17:26because even though those comments
17:27aren't so fiddling up,
17:28some of the models, like,
17:29active, or active,
17:30but them are models, like,
17:31following.
17:32Like, oh, okay.
17:33So you just have a problem.
17:34You know, like, that's cool.
17:35Because now they're, like,
17:36one of my biggest supporters.
17:37And if anybody else says anything,
17:38they're like, don't say that.
17:40They don't say what you said.
17:41Or something you saw.
17:42And come on.
17:43They don't grow into it like you had to.
17:45You know, it's cool that they,
17:47they bring you your job,
17:48and then they all send them to you,
17:49to other people.
17:50So you kind of got to take everything as it follows.
17:52Because sometimes you can get people
17:53who are with them in life.
17:54I don't even know anything about something.
17:56I got people telling me,
17:57I'm not going to put my personal machine to you.
18:00So I was like, okay.
18:01You know, keep in that range.
18:03I love that.
18:04I love that.
18:05I love the impact that you can see
18:06in this coming from both of you
18:08on how you've used your platform
18:10to extend your community,
18:11grow your experience,
18:12and meet others
18:13that's a little bit of a village for yourself.
18:15Because honestly,
18:16you think you're too far.
18:17I love that so much.
18:18And honestly,
18:19I could stay up here
18:20if you guys won't today.
18:22But this has been an easy,
18:23I think we think nothing
18:25of a better note that's done
18:26than just make things for ourselves
18:28around the community,
18:29wrinkle ourselves,
18:30around the many villages
18:31that we're able to create for ourselves.
18:33And I want to say thank you to both
18:35Kiera and Nadia.
18:37Are you serious?
18:38Yes, yes, yes.
18:39Thank you both for sharing your perspectives,
18:42your places,
18:43your stories,
18:44and just giving the community
18:45a little bit more insight.
