00:00Protein is a macronutrient, right? It helps you with your growth process. See, growth does not
00:05stop after you have reached adolescent and you have reached a certain height. It is not talking
00:09about height. Growth of your muscles, your whole body is made up of protein. Your enzymes, your
00:15hormones, your hair, your skin, your nails, everything is proteins, okay? So protein is
00:21absolutely necessary for the body. So protein, how do we calculate the protein, the macronutrient
00:27protein? We first see what is your, again your height, your weight. We get to see the, how
00:36much is your activity levels and according to that, there is a calculation, we calculate
00:42protein. So roughly for people who are normal, you know, normal BMI, normal levels of body,
00:48this thing. So we say 1.2 to 2 kgs of this thing, 1.2 to 2 grams per kg body weight, okay?
00:59That is the, for a normal person, but for a person who is very obese, then we have to do,
01:04we come to the desired weight that they want to, you know, ideal body weight as per their
01:08height. We calculate it that way. So then we roughly, what I do is 0.7 or 0.8 grams per
01:14LBS, per pound of body weight. Per pound. Per pound. Then I, for them, I do a little bit of,
01:20you know, little bit of changes this way and that way. So that is how we calculate protein,
01:26but it's a very important macronutrient of our body. So we are not south, east, west. Everybody
01:32has their own food culture. Now eastern part of India, they are more into non-vegetarian food,
01:39but it's a very balanced diet, let me tell you. They have their rice, they have their dal,
01:43they have their subsea and they have one, you know, fish. Generally eastern part of India
01:48is very fish eating states, okay? They eat their fish. Then if you come to west, they are not
01:54much of, you know, meat eating or fish eating. Yes, if it's in the coast, they are all fish
01:58eating. Correct. Coastal people are all fish eating. The more you come into inland, inland
02:03of, you know, more of plains inside of India, it is basically less of, you know, the more
02:08vegetarian and grains. Correct. Correct. But it's not that if you're a vegetarian, you will not get
02:15enough proteins. You have to match it with your paneer, your dahi, milk products. Now many
02:22vegetarians also eat eggs. Add up that eggs, okay? But if you don't like eggs, it's not necessary.
02:28Tofu, then your dals. But they are lesser, you know, they are the second class proteins.
02:34You can match your dal and rice to get the full amino acid profile. But still, you know,
02:40that leucine that really helps you to build up that muscle and, you know, if you're looking
02:44at proper muscle, you know, muscle strength and everything, gain, then the leucine factor
02:49has to be there. So that is more through your, you know, first class proteins. Which is?
02:54All the animal proteins? Animal protein. Milk, milk products. Milk and milk. Products. Fish,
02:59chicken, eggs. Okay. But it should be all lean. All lean. Lean. Yeah. Fat. Less fat. Minimum fat.
