01:12i mean you know listen you all play uh mr brown and and cora simmons so just let's talk about how do
01:19you feel having to leave these characters on the stage talk about this uh farewell experience you know
01:27it's one of those bittersweet things you know when when tyler first approached us and told us hey
01:30we're gonna do one more tour you know we want to leave and i'm doing a farewell tour we were like
01:36what i'm sad i'm sad i said you can't get rid of money everybody has a household life she's an icon
01:42yes and my mama how you gonna kill my mom
01:45you know and in his words he wanted to make sure that he put the character to rest before he was
01:53actually the same age as money so that was his thinking but i don't know you know i i'm always
02:00like i want to start a petition to where he don't get rid of money so i don't know about that hey i'm
02:06with you on that i'll sign it we we got to get it like you know i know tyler you know listen tyler's
02:11our brother uh you know he's so towns and it's amazing what he's done through this character
02:15over the years so i'm with you like hey let's sign the medea save medea but um how has this you know
02:24how has the experience of you know speaking of tyler uh you know who was just i mean literally like
02:29every time i'm around him i tell him i say you know what you inspire me and you depress me at the
02:33same time like how in the world you know can any of us ever get to where he is because he is such
02:39an inspiration and so i want to know you know how did these characters change your life you know
02:45when tyler came to you the very first time all the way until now talk about the experience on how
02:50working with him has changed your life well for me it definitely changed mine because when i first
02:57met him and probably some people heard me say i told them i would sing for him all day but i'm not
03:02an actress and he said before it's over with i'll have you acting and here it is 20 years 20 something
03:09years later you know she literally was afraid to act everybody like she was like no give me the mic let
03:15me close my eyes and let me sing you know for me it's changed even dealing with with tyler perry is
03:21like he challenged us to dream yes and and even on a daily when we're with him you know shooting the
03:28other shows and stuff it's just like a challenge to dream bigger and i know we had a conversation
03:33during the farewell tour it's like he asked me a question he said you gotta dream bigger you gotta
03:38dream bigger and i was literally like okay all right so it's it's been a challenge like dream bigger
03:45and and it's definitely it's caused both both of us yes to think bigger and dream bigger yes wow you
03:52know in our own for our own uh company and businesses that we've started it's just really
03:59been a blessing so he's really been a blessing to us in so many different ways and just just giving
04:05instructions and just even just watching him to see what he's accomplished so to give us that push
04:11and encouragement that we as a people of color that we can own our own business we can you know create
04:18things for ourselves and that's kind of what we have to do is create things for ourselves and for
04:24our viewers yeah i mean you know speaking of you know the creation of things for ourselves and our
04:30viewers i do think that tyler continues to inspire all of us to do that and dream big uh but before we
04:36continue the conversation why don't we give the viewers a sneak peek at medea's farewell play

06:48we were having our own show on stage yes at the table sometimes we literally forgot that we were
06:55doing a play for people we would be entertaining ourselves and they call me the past audience member
07:00because i'm laughing i was laughing every night but let's talk about that because having been to so
07:06many of the madea plays over the years it literally feels like every night on stage it's a party
07:13so just talk about like when tyler breaks character or someone lose forgets their line talk about the
07:20experience of what it's like that we don't actually see because we're trying to follow with the play from
07:25the audience but what are you all experiencing on stage so ordinarily you wouldn't let the audience
07:30in on that right but we made it a part of the show if you forgot a line it was like nah i'm not
07:36gonna let you get away he was just pimples out and i was like they wouldn't even know if you
07:40wouldn't say anything and then i'm actually talking saying these things like they wouldn't know
07:46he was like no you forgot i was like no we were bringing you back in on your line so it was so much
07:52fun night after night and even with all the music and it incorporating all the old songs and with new
07:59songs it was just it was great inspiration night after night even for us it was a lot of fun
08:05and for us it was like you know it was a bittersweet because of the farewell tour but
08:10it we hadn't been on the stage with each other in so long it was like every night we would get caught
08:16in the show ourselves yes you know we would sit at the table there's a couple scenes you'll got you
08:21guys will see we're sitting at the table we'll be having our own conversation and we were looking
08:26like hey y'all we gotta finish the show for the people we're entertaining ourselves
08:30i love that now let me ask you this what can fans expect when they watch this for those that have
08:38have not you know weren't there in the theater and they're going to be tuning in to vt plus on august 27
08:43what can they expect when they watch um what we always say is expect the unexpected
08:50because things are going to happen that you wouldn't ordinarily see things will happen that
08:56you'll be like wow i can't unsee what i just seen right because we did it there were a couple nights
09:06we knew what was coming but we still would be like my composure i'm gonna lose composure it's like
09:12how am i supposed to get myself together after all of that so it's like it's crazy it's crazy so there's a
09:17lot of surprises a lot of surprises unexpected unexpected nice before we close i know our time

09:29i'll sing but i won't act and here you are acting you had to conquer that fear someone right now is
09:34watching and they have a similar fear and they labeled themselves as if they're not something what
09:40would you say to someone right now to overcome their fear and not put themselves in a box i'm sorry
09:45um it's kind of like taking your having faith over fear it's like you just have to do it it's just
09:52like regardless to what's happening it's like i want to accomplish this this is what i was telling
