00:00Amazon has pulled Melania from a movie theater in Oregon after a joke about the film appeared on its marquee.
00:06As first reported by The Oregonian and then nationally spotted by The Daily Beast,
00:11an Oregon theater long known for finding creatively witty ways to advertise its movies was asked by Amazon to stop screening Melania.
00:18The Lake Theater and Cafe in a Portland suburb had touted last week's release of Amazon MGM's controversial documentary
00:25with declarations on their marquee such as, does Melania wear Prada? Find out Friday.
00:31And by quoting The Art of War saying, to defeat your enemy, you must know them. Melania starts Friday.
00:36Not long after, theater manager Jordan Perry says their booker received a call from somebody at Amazon asking the theater to pull the film.
00:43Perry told The Oregonian, the studio was not happy and or did not appreciate my take on marketing their film to our own public.
00:51The theater marquee was then changed to, Amazon called, our marquee made them mad.
00:56All Melania showings canceled, show your support at Whole Foods instead.

01:03Amazon had no immediate comment on the matter.
01:05The theater's management noted on Instagram that they also received plenty of backlash from local moviegoers long before the film was pulled,
01:13as many were upset that the Portland suburb cinema was screening Melania in the first place.
01:17Melania recently told The Hollywood Reporter that she made the movie because,
01:21I believe the Americans and people all over the world should witness the incredible amount of planning and work required when shifting from private citizen to first lady.
