00:00Hey NaturallyCurly world, I'm Model S Nick and I've teamed up with NaturallyCurly to bring you this super easy protective style.
00:08For my first order of business, I'm using the Coconut Restore Moisture Replenishing Shampoo.
00:14This sulfate-free shampoo cleanses and removes any residue from your hair and utilizes coconut oil to restore your hair's natural moisture.
00:24Next, I'm using the Coconut Restore Keratin Intensive Repair Mask.
00:28It's very important to deep condition your hair because you want to maintain as much moisture as possible to keep your hair healthy.
00:36I deep condition my hair every week since I have color on my natural hair.
00:40And then once I finish applying this repair mask, I usually put a plastic cap on, sit under the dryer for about 10-15 minutes, and then I rinse with lukewarm water.
00:50After rinsing out the repair mask, I'm applying my Daily Strengthening Conditioner, which I love so so so much because it softens my strands and makes detangling a breeze.
01:02Now that I've rinsed out the conditioner, it's time to apply my Curl Control Leave-In Conditioner.
01:08This leave-in helps to soften my hair and gives it a lot of body, as well as adapts to all hair types.
01:15Once I've applied my Leave-In Conditioner, then I'll blow my hair out off-camera just a little bit, that way I can get ready to start styling.
01:23After my hair is blown out a bit, on low heat of course, I will part my hair into two big sections.
01:29The next two products I'll be using are my Revitalizing Whipped Coconut Oil and my Restore Styling and Setting Jelly.
01:37Now the coconut oil will help to maintain any volume and add shine, and then my jelly will help to prevent any frizz while also keeping a firm hold on any flyaways.
01:49Since I've started with the back, I will begin to part my hair into smaller sections going across.
01:56Then I'll apply a generous amount of the jelly to each section, and then to hold it in place, I'll apply a rubber band.
02:04And you want to make sure that you're not tying the rubber band too tight because you don't want to pull on your hair.
02:09Once you've finished all of your small sections, you want to twist your leave-out in an upward motion until you reach the end.
02:16And it's okay if you don't have it perfect, you can always fix it later with bobby pins.
02:24Okay, time for the front.
02:25So I've already applied my oil previously, so now I'm going to use the jelly to set my perm rods.
02:32And you'll want to part your hair into smaller sections like you did for the back.
02:36And then you'll apply your jelly to each small section, and then apply your perm rod.
02:41And you can use any size perm rod of your choice.
02:44I decided to use the pink perm rods because I wanted a tighter curl.
02:49Once all my rods are in, I will use my dryer attachment to dry my hair and leave it on for about an hour or an hour and a half, depending on how fast my hair dries.
03:05So now that my hair is fully dried, I am gently removing the perm rods, and then I'll separate each curl into smaller curls.
03:12So now that my curls are fully separated, I'm ready to create volume using my afro pick.
03:22And then once I finish fluffing, then I'll use my bobby pins to keep my curls in place, as well as pin up my twist that's in the back.
03:30And there you have it, a super easy protective style using the Coconut Restore line.
03:40Thank you guys so much for watching, and tune in again for another Naturally Curly Hair Tutorial.
03:46Later guys!
