00:00hmm can I only do live on one
00:17would you rather do live on Facebook or YouTube can we do both I can't figure
00:26out how YouTube yeah maybe next time I can figure it out yeah and do some more
00:35research okay I think I'm recording so you can go ahead and hey naturally curly
00:41world I'm Alexandra I am one of the naturally curly editors and today we are
00:46doing a live Q&A so if you have any questions we'll be answering them right
00:51here so leave a comment below so first thing first we've already gotten a few
00:55questions and of course they are about frizz so for type threes you already
01:02know frizz is like our biggest enemy so I'm going to first share 10 frizz free
01:11products that help you really get really defined curls one of them is the curls
01:17chaos curl cream and another is a deep conditioner by diva curl and it is diva
01:24curl heaven and hair we also have a really great styling cream which is the
01:30curl junkie curls in a bottle we another fave is confident coils by Jesse curl and a
01:41biggest tip too is using a microfiber towel so a favorite for us is diva curl but if
01:47you have any other brand of your favorite that works for you find a microfiber towel
01:52y'all it makes such a huge difference and also to finding a finishing oil what
01:58that's like your cocktail oil that you're using but one of my favorites is the
02:02Jane Carter curls on the go it's a shine elixir and it's really great for just
02:08adding that shine and moisture to your hair once you're done styling so let's see
02:15another question I recently got a haircut and started wearing my hair curly it's
02:20three a three B what I've been noticing it's not holding definition and it's
02:25just frizzy after my cut she's asking for any recommendations so I would
02:30definitely say the biggest thing for three A's and three B's like we are
02:38really trying to get those defined popping frizz free curls and it's really all
02:43about the technique so the biggest thing I would say is really starting to style
02:48your hair in the shower once you're done washing like you are ready your hair is
02:52soaking wet and that's when you actually start scrunching using a primer such as
02:59let's see I have one of my one of my three A three B writers names Lindsay and
03:04she's sharing some techniques I'm gonna go her and her primer she likes to use the
03:11what is it so a primer such as the diva curl so I'm sorry a primer then a leave-in
03:22conditioner and then a gel and I would definitely say I just usually I just
03:26recently started using gels and gels and mousses are probably like one of like
03:30the most underrated stylers they actually really combat a lot of frizz but it is a
03:36process though so like first really finding out what your hair needs and it
03:41also depends on the season so like like like I said a primer a leave-in and then a
03:48custard or a gel depending on your hair time do you want to reiterate for people
03:52just joining what we're talking about hey naturally curly girl for those of y'all
03:56who just joined the fun so we are doing a live Q&A and this will be every Monday and
04:02we're answering any question that you have about curly hair transitioning how
04:07to style your curls product recommendations for your curl type anything
04:13any struggles a girl let us know in the comments below and we will answer them
04:17right here and right now so I was just sharing we had a question about someone
04:25with 3A 3B curls and really just trying to help them with some recommendations and I
04:30was just sharing really about the technique and the products so I was referring to one
04:37of my writers who is Lindsay she's a contributor for us and she uses a 3B curly and she has
04:42a great styling and drying process and she first uses a primer and all of this is like when her
04:48hair is soaking wet she's still in the shower a primer a leave-in conditioner and then a gel or a
04:55custard just depending on your hair type and like I said doing all that when your hair is soaking
05:00wet using the praying head praying hands method when you're really you know going from root to tip
05:06and then wrecking it through with your leave-in conditioner and then scrunching with that gel and
05:12really getting it in once it's dry get your pick pick out the roots and you're good to go so if y'all
05:20have any questions feel free to comment below whether it's about you just now starting your curly hair
05:27journey transitioning how often to get trims clarifying shampoos whatever it is let us know and we'll
05:34answer right now I'm not seeing any questions right now but 19 people are watching okay hey guys we're
05:46still here so if y'all have any urging urgent questions you're just like girl this is my struggle right now
05:53it is so real I have not figured it out oh yeah I have curly hair but I'm afraid to wear it to school
05:58because I don't want people to tell me that my hair is frizzy or puffy girl please you better rock that
06:04hair seriously like I feel like first off don't don't be self-focused on what people would think
06:10about you definitely like try your best just to be confident in your most natural state but I totally
06:16feel your struggle it took me a long time to embrace my curls and I would say the biggest challenge
06:22is finding products can you tell me what is your curl pattern like or like do you know what what curl
06:29type you are and maybe I can help with some product recommendations let's see if she says anything
06:35what are ways to prevent knotting in type four curls so definitely finding a good detangler so I
06:58actually have two really good detanglers that I like that work for my 3c hair but also I know
07:05Jerilyn is our type four editor and she likes these as well and one of them is the Oyen Oh My Glide
07:13that detangler is everything but also too like of course getting your hair wet so refreshing it with
07:20the water bottle and then adding a detangler and then of course a wide tooth comb do not detangle
07:27your hair when it's dry like that's just the first tip just don't even try to at home sis it ain't it
07:32um so Oyen Oh My Glide is one of the detanglers and another one is the satanicals um I'm going blank on it
07:41well of course it's so kinky curly knot today is another one but let me look up the satanicals one too
07:47because that's also my fave someone asked um what are ways to prevent like hand in hair
07:54syndrome for type three and four yeah and then I got that girl and then another one is um
08:00oh people are really asking uh what uh oh god um you're like no one's here oh my god what yeah
08:07uh someone asked tips for transitioning hair okay okay so first I want to talk about the detangling for
08:15the type four hair so I said kinky curly knot today that is like holy grail since forever ever
08:20um and then we have the Oyen Oh My Glide and then there's also a satanicals also has a really good
08:29one but I can't think of like the actual name for it but satanicals kink curly knot today and Oyen
08:33and then um what about transitioning um oh hand in hair okay syndrome um so it's actually interesting I
08:43recently did some research and find out and found out that by you constantly putting your hand in
08:49your hair that can lead to breakage um so definitely for those type three curlies once you have your
08:55hair set and ready like me my finger coils are there I don't want to keep being like playing with
09:00it all day um because that could lead to breakage so I would just say it's just a habit that you have
09:06to really work on personally and like once you know that your hair is good to go you have the fluff
09:10down the volume is there like really leave it alone because also your hands are really dirty
09:14and you're getting dirt in your hair so just definitely stay away from that tips for transitioning
09:20hair um oh so I big chopped almost three years ago which is kind of crazy to believe now um but
09:30that first year girl you're gonna have to embrace that struggle life like seriously it's not gonna be
09:35easy um you're still like unless you truly go for a big chop um you'll have some you know you'll have
09:42some dead ends or whatever some straight ends and curly um but really just finding products that work
09:47for you and techniques like for me the finger coil method works the best because I do have some looser
09:51curls that I want more to find in the back and the sides so just finding um finding methods that work
09:58for you whether it's finger coil or it's a braid out a twist out finding things that work for you for
10:02sure um people are asking like what you tell your stylist when you go for a haircut or a trim
10:09so definitely do your first thing first do your research on the on the stylist and really understand
10:18like what her expertise is um and check out her instagram and her website and really get a clear vision
10:25on what you want to wait before you start talking to her make sure that you have that vision that
10:29very clear vision of like what you're going for here's the length because it's been too many times
10:34for me too or like take a little bit off and then she's like okay and then I look up and I'm like
10:38bald so um just really being clear and like finding a lot of inspiration of what you're looking for
10:45um and having as many examples with a stylist like in your consultation wait before you make your
10:51appointment that's my biggest thing for sure um someone is asking about so they I think big
11:00chopped and they're having trouble growing hair at the nape of their neck yeah asking for tips about
11:06that growing hair um I would say really for hair growth in general really just finding a good scalp oil
11:13um because I feel like the more that your scalp is moisturized and healthy overall that will increase
11:19your hair growth um now for the neck the neck I'm not too familiar on that one but I can definitely
11:24do some research and come back to you for that um but overall I would really just say like a black
11:30a black castor oil some type of really good oil to cleanse your scalp regularly or moisturize your scalp
11:37regularly I like to say um a couple people have said that they have protein sensitive hair
11:43and they're asking for like product recommendations for low protein products and you know that's
11:49interesting because I feel like we're starting to hear that more um and I don't have an answer for
11:58that but I am totally about to look up some for y'all because I feel like that is a reoccurring
12:02question that we're getting more often so let me look that up for you so I can give y'all the best
12:07answer because that is not my expertise for protein sensitivity
12:11protein rich products but if you're protein sensitive
12:17we can always answer it next week yeah I think I'm sure I'll come back to the protein sensitive
12:27products I'll write that down so I can be sure to get that answer for y'all
12:31any other questions y'all had um someone said that they have three c hair similar to yours and
12:40it's frizzy no matter how much product they put in it and they end up putting it up every day
12:45do you have any uh advice for them so I will definitely say when I when I heard putting as
12:52much product what what did you just say it's they said that no matter how much product they put in
12:58it's still frizzy yeah and see I think what I've learned too is that like less is more with
13:03products um but I I'm gonna share my routine just because we do have similar hair types um so what
13:10my routine is is I refresh in the morning with the water bottle and then I add a mousse so I have
13:18learned y'all that like mousse mousses are like the key like they're really really under um undervalued
13:26really but I feel like they are truly like that frizz free combat product um so finding a mousse that
13:32really works and my favorite is the design essentials almond avocado mousse and then raking that through
13:39my hair and then um and then applying a gel so then my favorite one of my favorite gels is the
13:46camille rose curl maker so then I apply the gel and then I do my finger coils and then once my hair is dry
13:54I add an oil like a spray oil which is um I would like the weed add mongogo oil and then I fluff um but
14:04then I think earlier I was saying too but it's not touching it I think more the more that you touch it
14:08the frizzier it becomes um so yeah I would really just say finding a routine that works for you and
14:14then really sticking to it and really trying to figure out what product and like what and what
14:18technique works best for you
14:24y'all have any more questions we are about to sign off y'all
