00:00I truly feel like the universe and God or whatever gave me the Lion King so I could
00:04finally learn how to embrace my own blackness and not only my blackness to marry that with
00:09my Congolese heritage because that was an experience of itself feeling not black not
00:14Congolese not African and living in that space so that's kind of how that came about and then
00:19color purple I feel like I was healing things around my beauty and what it meant to be dark
00:26skinned being black you know I just was seeing friends that were lighter that had different
00:30experiences than me so it was like once I owned the blackness I had to own this other piece of it
00:34um so I feel like they truly came to me and I tell this story um I was actually burying my
00:40grandmother back home in the democratic republic of Congo like in the in a village she grew up in
00:45when I swear I heard her voice just like google the color purple auditions and that's how I found
00:51yes yes I wish I was lying I really do because it sounds crazy the ancestors grandma was always
00:57looking out always like she was when she was around she felt like a living ancestor and just
01:02being rooted in her and so when she passed I knew that something big was going to happen that she
01:07was going to open some kind of door um for me and it was this
01:10time where she was living I liked it there but she looks like another step maybe
01:26maybe I could go in she took never even look like it's all evolutionary for me and really
01:29like with her as a lot of friends and friends in WOW and social meals it técnico
