00:05a lot happens in a day before big events like this. On busy days, I set the tone by lighting a
00:10candle before hydrating with smart water and doing yoga. Then I reached for my journal to
00:15write out my to-dos and morning thoughts before grabbing some tea. After showering, brushing my
00:20teeth, and doing my skincare routine, I put on some makeup. Today I was super excited to try this
00:26new lip liner my favorite makeup artist Harold James showed me yesterday. Then I did a little
00:31fit check after meeting with a hair care brand I'm super excited about. Then I walked to do an
00:35interview with one of my favorite celebs who will also be at Essence Fest. I stuck around the hotel
00:41where we did the interview to answer some emails, write a couple stories, and edit a few as well.
00:46One of the stories was protective hairstyle recommendations for Essence Fest. Then it was
00:51time to head to the Road to Essence Fest party. Here I am on the step and repeat. I of course had
00:57to bring my smart water with me because a girl's gotta stay hydrated, especially in busy times like
01:02these, okay? Then I took a little selfie in the beauty product lounge. I made my way into the DJ room
01:08where everyone was mingling and dancing and having a great time, myself included. I got my shimmy on.
01:15I ended the evening in the photo booth. And I've never been to Essence Fest before, so if this was a
01:20preview, I'm even more excited now.
