00:02President Trump on Tuesday signed legislation to reopen most of the U.S. government,
00:07ending a partial shutdown that began last weekend, according to CNBC.
00:11The measure cleared the House earlier Tuesday by a 217 to 214 vote after Senate approval last week,
00:18reopening agencies shuttered since Saturday.
00:21The bill funds the Departments of Defense, Treasury, State, Health and Human Services,
00:26labor, housing and urban development, transportation and education through September 30th.
00:32It also provides two weeks of stopgap funding for the Department of Homeland Security after
00:37full-year funding was removed.
00:39Lawmakers and the White House will now negotiate new immigration enforcement guardrails tied to DHS funding.
00:45The House vote was bipartisan after a tense procedural fight led by Mike Johnson,
00:49who relied on Republican support alone to advance the measure.
