00:00The one thing Megan needs to be good is God.
00:11To have my own cover is like bucket list.
00:15It's something that I've wanted for a really, really long time.
00:18It's something that I've dreamed about.
00:19It's something that I've prayed about.
00:21And like, I'm not even going to lie.
00:24When my publicist told me that I got the cover, I started crying.
00:27I was like in Atlanta and I was like, what?
00:29Because it was really important to me.
00:32Like what this magazine means to black people, but especially black women.
00:36The way that it empowers us.
00:38The way that it shows us that we are worthy and capable and beautiful.
00:43The way that it allows us to share with each other and pour into each other.
00:48To unify, to feel connected.
00:51It's just really a blessing and something beautiful.
00:54And something that I've been watching and seeing since I was a child.
00:58I've always had Essence magazine.
01:00Like always.
01:00And I've always wanted to be on the cover.
01:02So for me, it is a huge deal.
01:04I remember that shoot was a lot of fun.
01:08We were all being silly.
01:09Lots of laughing.
01:10Lots of playing jokes.
01:12Also lots of just supporting each other and being really excited that we got to do it together.
01:16That movie was like definitely a staple in my life for just moving into the comedy space.
01:22Something comfortable with that and it's always wonderful to do that with other women who are supportive and loving.
01:27And yeah, we just had a lot of good times.
01:30My favorite look today, I think it's in between the two looks, which is like the rocker look, which was like, you know, the tube top kind of like skirt, bang, bang.
01:46Like the really cool boots and like the rocker jewelry and the big jacket.
01:49And then also I really, really love the green, you know, that's a black designer that I was like, okay, yes, let's do it.
01:56And like a cute little vintagey top and like a great jacket.
02:00So for me, I love those ones.
02:02The one thing Megan needs to be good is God.
02:07That's the one thing I need to be good.
02:08And after that, to authentically live in my skin unapologetically, probably before that, my family to be well and somewhere in between that to be a positive influence and to encourage women to walk in their authenticity and to own every part of who they are from the inside out and to love them and to love their skin then.
02:38That's the one thing I need to be good.
