00:07And I was like, the queen needs her knight.
00:10I am there.
00:14So we know this collection's all about love.
00:17Self-love is full of all these reds and pinks
00:20and all these lush fabrics.
00:21Do you have a personal favorite piece from it?
00:24I like the top I'm wearing and also the sweatpants.
00:29And I just, and then she sent me the hat,
00:31which I like too, which is cool.
00:33My mom has already put dibs on half of my box already.
00:38So, you know, it's gonna transcend
00:41because every time she says she goes online,
00:43you know, at these drops to try to get
00:45some of the Ivy Park stuff is gone.
00:47So I told her, I said, look, you got,
00:50you don't have to worry, you got my box.
00:52You got some of my box, some of my box,
00:54not all of it, but some of it.
00:56Now, Little Birdie told me that you actually got to do
00:59some of your shots with Beyonce in person.
01:02What was that experience like?
01:04No, I didn't get to, I mean, I wish I would have.
01:07I thought I was gonna get to chew with her, but no,
01:09I was amongst like, I had the twins
01:14and a few other people were there as well
01:17because how they had it set up was everyone was shooting.
01:21So one room did video, one room did stills
01:25and there were three people, three sets
01:28of different people shooting
01:29and we would pass each other in the hallway.
01:31The only people I got to meet were the twins, you know,
01:35and they were, oh man, they were so inspiring.
01:37Those two young guys, it was a lot going on.
01:40It was like a movie set we were on.
01:41It was the same feeling as, you know,
01:45you're, you know, you're shooting something exciting.
01:48You just don't know what the outcome will be.
01:50And, you know, we were able to see some of the clips
01:52of what was going on and what we were doing.
01:54And it was just so fast paced.
01:57We were just all running around.
01:58It was amazing though, you know?
02:00And I was hoping that the queen will come through,
02:02but no, not on this one.
02:04She was there the day before I was told.
02:06So some people got to shoot with it, I didn't.
02:08Now, being that you are the model icon,
02:11you've been on episodes a number of times
02:15and a veteran in the game,
02:16were you able to impart some of your knowledge
02:18while you were on set to some of the other people
02:20who may maybe not have as much experience modeling as you do?
02:24Yeah, I was able to talk to the twins
02:26and, you know, they were like in awe
02:29and they just were like, look,
02:31we've been looking up to you since we were babies.
02:33And for me, I forget who I am in the world.
02:37You know, I'm just going about doing whatever I do,
02:40going to the supermarket, you know,
02:41go wherever I go, the gas station,
02:44doing regular stuff, you know?
02:45Cause you know, I just,
02:47I always remain humble from just being myself.
02:50I don't have an entourage.
02:51I don't have bodyguards.
02:52I only came with my manager.
02:54I didn't come with it, you know, a whole team.
02:56So I've never really had a team to roll with like that.
02:59So I've always been, you know, self-sufficient travel by myself.
03:04So it, for me, it was just,
03:06it was just humbling just to be, you know,
03:09thought of to even come back
03:11because I had originally retired in 2008.
03:16I just felt like at that time in 2008,
03:18there was nothing for me left to shoot.
03:20So I just said, okay, well,
03:21I'm just going to go into the acting and the producing.
03:25So that's what I've been doing since 2008.
03:27So when I got this phone call, it was just like,
03:30you want my old ass to shoot?
03:33I said, well, okay, if you say so.
03:36So then I just, you know, I got my plane ticket.
03:39I literally had to run out of the house.
03:41Cause you know, the ticket came like that quick
03:44and they were like, okay,
03:45you're on nine o'clock out of Miami to Los Angeles.
03:49So you got to go.
03:49So I was, you know, I only got the call
03:52at 3 p.m. East coast time.
03:54So, you know, I got myself ready.
03:56And that particular day I had to speak
03:58at the city council here in Miami on,
04:01you know, a project they working on
04:04and it needed a certain amount of votes
04:06and it needed some voices.
04:07So before going to the airport,
04:09I had to go speak at the city council, you know
04:12and then run to the airport.
04:14So the thing got approved, which was good.
04:17So, you know, it made me feel good
04:18that I'm part of my community and trying to help out.
04:20And then, you know, went off to work.
04:22I was like, excuse me.
04:23Oh, I got to go.
04:23Beyonce needs me and I was out.
04:26So it was, it was truly amazing
04:28to be a part of this campaign.
04:30Well, this is a pretty big way to kick off 2022
04:33as you know, the second month, February is getting started.
04:36What are your other big plans for the year?
04:39Right now I own half of a soccer team.
04:42So it's, it's something that the women's division
04:47of the, of, of the club, cause we have men and women.
04:51So we have two, the women won their championship.
04:54So I'm really proud of them.
04:55And then two of the players, the female players
04:58went to their national team for El Salvador.
05:01So that's very, you know, that's, that makes me very happy.
05:05And I also designed the, the kits for the, for the, for the season.
05:11Other than that, I mean, you know, celebrating Black History Month,
05:14you know, I heard Ralph Warren wants to honor me as well.
05:17So I want to, I want to take my flowers while I'm here, you know,
05:21and it's, it's rare that we get them.
05:23You know, usually people don't get their flowers until they're passed,
05:26you know, so I'm very honored to be getting mine as I'm here,
05:29you know, living, living and breathing well.
05:32So, you know, the rest of the year is just get back
05:35to producing and get back to acting stuff.
05:37You know, I got a, I got a film coming out this year.
05:41You know, it's called Singleholic, myself, Rotimi, Erica, Erica Ashe,
05:45and, you know, Adrian Martinez.
05:48So we're looking forward to that, you know, so it's a,
05:52it's a, it's a busy month for me, for sure.
