00:00I don't know if you heard who the host is this year, but you're certainly about to find out.
00:06So, this is the man who needs zero introduction, but I'm going to do it anyway.
00:12Our fantastic host, Damson Idris, everybody.
00:16You heard it. Fantastic.
00:17Fantastic.
00:18You guys look amazing.
00:20That's you.
00:20What you got going on?
00:21What you wearing today?
00:22What are you wearing?
00:22Prada.
00:23Prada.
00:24He said that fast.
00:26Prada.
00:26In the accent, so one more time.
00:28Prada.
00:30Oh, man.
00:31And for you, as a black man in Hollywood, how have black women in Hollywood impacted your journey and your success?
00:39Wow, in every way.
00:41They teach me how to be a gentleman, teach me how to focus on prestige, and as my platform rises and as this brand rises, black women I know are always going to be people that I look out for.
00:54So, yeah, that's what they've taught me, man.
00:56You know, it's all about community, togetherness.
00:58That's great.
00:59And that's what tonight is about, too.
01:00That's amazing.
01:01So, I have a question.
01:02When you go into these auditions, are you using your American accent?
01:06Yeah.
01:06Because you be stealing the jobs for these American men.
01:08I know they sick out here.
01:09I go in as the character.
01:11But, fortunately, I don't audition anymore.
01:15Oh.
01:15Well, slight flex.
01:17Oh, that was a slight flex.
01:18Prada.
01:18That was a slight flex.
01:19He wearing Prada.
01:19He don't audition no more.
01:22It's just accepting and denying, huh?
01:24That's your life now?
01:25Okay.
01:25Exactly.
01:25Some of us have to audition.
01:26But, no, it's fun what we do, you know?
01:30We're in a business of imagination, and I'm really fortunate to be connecting to so many
01:35people around the world from so many different backgrounds.
01:38Yeah.
01:38Yeah.
01:38What's your dream role, if you could do any role, that you wouldn't audition for?
01:42I'd love to play Nia Long in a biopic.
01:45That would be cool.
01:48Don't play.
01:50I mean, method acting, we could see.
01:53I'd pull up Nia Long.
01:53Method acting, I'm like, take you down a few inches, but I think it could work.
01:58You love it.
01:59No, I'd love to play Nia Long.
02:01I'd love to play Sidney Poitier, Eddie Murphy, and Fela Kuti.
02:07Oh, wow.
02:07Yeah, those are the three people.
02:09That's powerful.
02:09Okay, what are you going to be giving us on the stage?
02:12How are you going to keep the...
02:13Energy.
02:14Energy.
02:14That African...
02:15You're giving me mysterious.
02:16You keep staring off in the distance.
02:17I'm like, who's there?
02:17I know, because I can see people in the corner like this.
02:20But you're, like, staring so mysteriously.
02:22I'm so curious.
02:24Yeah, no, it's going to be an amazing night.
02:26You know, we have amazing people coming out.
02:29This is what it's about.
02:30You know, this is my second time being here.
02:32The first time I was a guest, and now I'm hosting, and it's an absolute pleasure.
02:36And I just hope everyone has fun today.
02:39Okay, I do have a final question.
02:42Franklin as a father, what can we expect?
02:45A sweet aside to Franklin.
02:47Okay.
02:48He's been kind of mean this season.
02:50Just a little bit.
02:51A little bit.
02:51Just a little bit.
02:52A little bit.
02:53Just a little bit.
02:53But, no, I think it's going to be a side to Franklin that many people in that game are going to relate to.
03:00You know, having something to truly lose when your life is always on the line.
03:04I think this season is going to make a lot of people reflect on this time period and the happenings of this time.
03:11And hopefully, you know, we can teach people why we entertain them.
03:14I love it.
03:15I love it.
03:15Well, we'll let you get inside and prepare to host the 15th annual Black Women in Hollywood Awards.
03:21Dancing Idris, everybody.
03:23Wearing Prada.
03:23Wearing Prada.
03:24Okay.
03:24And not auditioning.
03:25No more for roles.
