00:00Crazy white boy saves your alleged gun jamming ass and just bounce with your paper and drugs
00:09like cast with a ghost.
00:15Well as you both know joining the power franchise is a huge phenomenon with fans it's been super
00:21popular for years now. How does it feel to be joining such a big franchise as two new
00:27characters to the storyline? Amazing. It feels amazing to be joining this universe. Everyone on
00:35the cast knows that I'm a diehard power fan like I'm the guy that remembers things that Tommy said
00:41episode six season four type thing I'm like remember when you said this like you know because
00:46now this the I don't think this will make sense if we because yeah so I'm that guy so for me to be a
00:51new character I feel like there's a little bit of nerves in there but I feel like the nerves are
00:56good because that means I'm invested then if to have a little bit of nervousness means that you're
01:01invested to a certain extent so they're the nervousness of okay we're new characters we
01:06can't ruin our favorite universe and and I feel that and I take pride in that and I worked hard
01:12to make sure that that doesn't happen because the integrity of this show means so much to me I know
01:17what Courtney and 50 created and I just want to live up to it. Yeah I think for me I just wanted to
01:23bring value I want to make sure I brought value and brought you know brought this character to
01:27life because one thing that we me and Chris even talked about when we were talking about our
01:31characters and our dynamics as brothers is that you know it's just finding where we can start and not
01:35to overshoot it like we wanted to be part of this this universe but make sure that we have room to
01:40continue to grow as the dynamic grows and we you know we have you know start to you know evolve as
01:46characters and I think what happens is that with power book you know with power book for forces like
01:51you're going to see all this kind of movements it's a whole lot of things moving and going on and
01:56you're going to start attaching yourself to the fans and I think with the power universe it's just
01:59it's important that we fit right into there but take it to the next level we can't stay standing we
02:04got to take to the next level so then I think the fans are going to love it and I think they're
02:07going to be attracted to it. 100% agreed and I also think it's interesting that you guys are kind of
02:13telling a story that it seems at least from episode one is often told in a different type of way
02:18somebody who is coming out of incarceration and it seems at least on some level is coming out a
02:26change man versus oftentimes with shows like this trying to get right back to business as usual as
02:31things were before. What do you feel like the importance is of the spin that you guys are putting
02:36on this story about so many people's experiences? Yeah I think that it's important to show the other side
02:44of it because I've said this before too when someone gets incarcerated they become what we
02:49call institutionalized but I also think that that there's something that no one really looks at and
02:56it's the people that are in their lives their brothers their mothers their girlfriends their their kids
03:01you know things like that they have to figure out how to now welcome them back into their lives
03:07because especially depending on how many times how long has went by 15 years is a long time
03:13that's enough time for you to forget about somebody especially if you were a child if you
03:17were maybe absolutely or when they went in you can forget so I think that this show will show that
03:23dynamic on both sides for the person getting released and for the people in their lives welcoming it all
03:30in because I think that's going to be hard for Jannard and and to welcome them in and Diamond being
03:35Diamond he's fierce he's very powerful no pun intended but he has a presence about himself Isaac the
03:41the person as well as Diamond the person he has a presence that's very strong and it's a presence
03:47that you kind of don't want to say no to you know God has to have that battle with okay I might have
03:53to say no but I think it's going to be interesting I think the fans will love probably for a force
03:57yeah I think with Diamond I want to tap in what Chris is saying is also from the perspective of
04:02Diamond is that yes he goes in as one type of person he goes in as Diamond but as 15 years go by
04:09there's growth there's evolution and it's like there's a place and it's hard for him to to chime
04:15in to the adjustment of what other people are doing outside because he's worried about what's going on
04:18with his own life for 15 years in a prison and trying to make sure he stays alive but you know he's also
04:23wants to evolve into a different type of person and because he's not living that same life out on
04:27the outside he has to he evolves in doing things and I think that it's important for him to you know
04:33I wanted to really make sure that I tapped into you know people that have been incarcerated so they
04:38could kind of you know be related I wanted to come out in a way that people like oh okay yeah I kind
04:42of felt that I want to make sure I tapped into my senses being different I've talked to different
04:45people who were incarcerated so I could really kind of really gravitate to what they're what they
04:50experience coming out and I tried to you know make sure I could convey that in the scene and
04:54especially with the love with my brother and still like seeing him it's like that's the only thing that
04:58I feel like I can I can count on at the time as Diamond comes out absolutely thank you both so much
05:03for your time this morning thank you so much
