00:03The two of you guys have created this space where I didn't think y'all can get more violent.
00:09I said, you know what, after season two, ain't too much nowhere for them to go, man.
00:13What would you say that you like about each other's character throughout all the seasons?
00:19You know, I'm a fan, so I got excited when he said that.
00:22What Joseph has been able to do with this character for so many seasons has just been,
00:27like, there's no words for it in a sense, but I'm going to give you the best I can.
00:30I've seen the work that he's put in, and I've seen that the behind the scenes and in front of the camera,
00:34and I've been in awe of just watching him and imagining that he does.
00:39He's created a character that the world knows.
00:41I've been blessed to be able to be in the rooms and be in the, we call like the octagon on these scenes
00:46and be able to learn to do these gymnastics of just being there, but you got to come in prepared.
00:51You come in prepared, you come in and do the work, and we challenge each other.
00:54And he's made me a better actor and a better person in these rooms.
00:58I'd be remiss if I didn't say that.
01:00It's just amazing working with Joseph and being able to be a part of that character.
01:04The first time I remember we had that scene, season two, he gave me the Tommy eyebrow, and I almost lost it.
01:09I almost lost the scene.
01:11I had to hold on everything I had to be able to stay in character.
01:14I said, God, I'm in power, and Tommy just gave me the eyebrow.
01:19I can echo a lot of that.
01:20Isaac has truly made me a better actor.
01:22Isaac has a wonderful, subtle quality.
01:24He's very cerebral, and he's always thinking in it.
01:27One of the things that I love he has brought to the Diamond character and the entire world of power
01:32is there is no other character that I can think of in the entire power universe that is, like, so gangster and could be anybody.
01:41Isaac is truly a gentle giant, but he brings this true humanity, everyman quality that I think Tommy reverberates with everyman.
01:50Like, you know what I mean?
01:50Tommy is much bigger with the UPS driver than he is with the CEO.
01:54What Isaac has done with Diamond is allowed this true kind of Chicago accessibility, city of big shoulders.
02:02He is grounded.
02:04He is loyal.
02:05He is all of these things that Tommy wishes he would maintain, and that one of those things is being a great brother.
02:11I think that Tommy struggles with being a great brother, whether that's to Ghost or that we think of even in season one, him challenging.
02:18Ghost being honest about his biggest dreams of getting out the game and being a club promoter and being this guy, owning this club, and Tommy laughing at that.
02:26Isaac does, as an actor, so effortlessly.
02:29He shows us the love between brothers and the love of family and commitment of family.
02:35So he adds a wonderful subtlety and dynamicism that really speaks to the human condition, and I think that expands our audience in a way.
02:43I would say 95% of power you don't see on screen.
02:46We're watching the 5% that's exciting.
02:48You know what I mean?
02:48And I think that Isaac lets you in on a very special peek onto the other 95% by being present in real time but bringing his past with him.
