00:00can you each sum up season two in one word you feel is appropriate temptation everybody is tempted
00:06in some way i would say roller coaster it's just a roller coaster of emotions i would say adventure
00:12it's definitely adventurous bmf they were so big they were so loud they used their money to help
00:20fund artists a legacy a legendary family they were the biggest ballers who ever did it
00:26black mafia family
00:30just starting with da vinci and sydney um your characters have done a lot of maturing and life
00:46changes from season one to season two what do you feel like is different and in store for your
00:52characters this year that maybe you know they wouldn't have experienced in the first season
00:56love triangle for starters you know he's definitely experiencing a more grown and sexy side to him
01:05that is not very terry flinnery like um so that's definitely something new for season two that he's
01:12gonna explore he's definitely gonna start being a little more independent season two so that's gonna
01:18be interesting yeah i think for my character in season one um she's kind of more innocent just
01:25like staying at home with the kids i think in this season she's you know starting to change a little
01:32bit and she's not going to continue to be as loyal and just kind of sit around and let him treat her
01:38however so toward the end of the season you kind of start seeing a different side of lawanda so she's she's
01:43growing and changing a lot
01:45now lala we saw your character very briefly um last season but um you have a much more expanded
01:53role this year what were you excited about expanding your role in season two i was excited during season
01:58one i was shooting the shy so i was out in chicago so it was nice you know with these characters it's
02:05nice to be able to dive fully and not just pop up for episode here then pop up for episode there it really
02:11gave me the time to grow the character and grow this relationship between markeisha and and terry
02:17which you know takes on a lot of different twists and turns so also just being back in my stars family
02:23coming from power to now be on bmf i was really happy to i guess kind of come back home in a sense
02:29and it's it's been an incredible experience and mf is such an incredible show and so many people love it
02:35so to go from iconic show like power and then be over here on bmf is is absolutely incredible
02:42now lala and sydney as well um both of you have these like amazing wigs and these amazing like
02:50late 80s early 90s hairstyles what do you feel like is so much fun about changing your look
02:55this way to kind of service the characters that you're playing in the show it definitely puts you
02:59in in in the in the mode that you need to be in even the set whether it's the makeup the hair just
03:05the environment all of a sudden you're like you feel like that's who you are and it helps the work
03:11that you're already doing to prepare for the character just as that extra like i guess sauce
03:15sauce on top so to speak so i love it and just as as a female to be able to play around with different
03:21looks and hairstyles and and and fashions from that era is uh really cool and i just think it gives
03:27the audience something else to kind of look at and say like we love these stories but damn look
03:32at what she got on look at her hair look at this like it just gives an extra something to everybody
03:36that's watching right right exactly yeah and i feel like um you know lawanda in real life from what i
03:43was told is known for her hairstyles and for changing it up and so that was cool because i feel
03:48like they're like eras of lawanda like you know the blonde lawanda was more naive you know that this
03:55lawanda was kind of when you know she started acting this way this season's lawanda is acting
04:02a whole different way so um so yeah it was fun and like lala said it's fun to be able to get into
04:07character with the looks with all the 80s hair and makeup and jewelry and it helps you dive in and
04:13actually you know helps you play the character better absolutely now da vinci um you're relatively new
04:22season one um and ever since then you know you've done what i think a broadway show and you know you've
04:28done a lot of different acting and now you're a little bit more well-versed in it what was the
04:32approach coming into season two now that you're a little bit more seasoned i just you know want to
04:38just explore the character more make different choices um you know and just grow more with the
04:46character the dopest part about season two is that i feel like terry and me as a person was both
04:53growing at the same time because he was doing things that he's never done before and i was doing
04:58things as a person on screen that i've never done before so it was really dope that we were both going
05:04through the same thing so we were feeling the same nerves in some of the scenes so it was kind of cool
05:11to play off of that you know now what do you feel like terry's metamorphosis has been like he's you
05:17know settling more into fatherhood now he survived a deadly incident you know he's starting a business
05:23it's like so many different life changes what do you feel like in season two his general metamorphosis
05:28is that he's you know i mean still a kid but becoming a man i think i think his whole goal is emma
05:34over season two is just to become a man and become independent and make his own bread and do his own
05:40thing and become you know the boss of his own world that's his whole agenda season two
05:46now do any of you have like a favorite uh shooting day on set like was there as much as you can get
05:53into because i know there's a lot of spoilers for this season that you can't delve deeply into
05:57but do you all have like a shoot day that was particularly fun on set i think i try to make all my
06:03days on set fun i mean some of the stuff might be heavy but i try to make all my days you know fun
06:10and coming off of how we really built like a family dynamic i see the same thing kind of happening
06:15here where you do you spend so much time with each other you do become friends you know about each
06:20other's lives you know about each other's families or whatever like it's it just happens so it's nice
06:25to be able to come to work and just be amongst friends and then do incredible work together so
06:31i don't know i like to make every day fun
06:33i think a fun day for me was when we first got back on set just because you know season one we
06:41had kind of built that family dynamic so to see like mccall and russell and layla da vinci and meech
06:48i feel like that was probably my favorite scene because it felt like we were really jumping back into
06:53it and we already knew each other and you know it was good energy and we like transferred that onto the
06:59screen yeah i got i got a kick out of uh when markeisha and lana was in the same room
07:04i thought that was just funny that was another good one that was that cracked me
07:09so how is it bringing this uh this new aspect of the show this love triangle to life on screen
07:21it's interesting
07:23yeah it's it's one of those things that is like i don't remember for the rest of my life
07:36sure it's it's fun it's it's like oh at the same time it's like whoa like this is this is a lot but
07:43it's like it's entertaining and i think the audience is really gonna love it and the love
07:48triangle makes sense so more importantly like it like i think a lot of people watching this story
07:53they're gonna be like damn i can't blame him like oh like like this guy guy he got it tough like this
08:01is tough you know like they're gonna you know so it's gonna be cool to see the audience response
08:06to it and i'm looking forward to it right and we're looking forward to it as well and again since
08:14we can't give me any spoilers we're very early into it um can you each sum up season two in one
08:20word you feel is appropriate temptation for me
08:23everybody is tempted in some way like down to people you don't even think would be um everybody
08:33i feel like everybody's dealing with this dilemma and um but like you said davinci i feel like
08:41what i love about it is the audience can see both sides you know they can see i understand why he
08:47feels like that so um i think people are gonna love it i would say roller coaster it's just a
08:52roller coaster of emotions a roller coaster of different things happening as soon as you think
08:56you have a certain character figured out something that happened and you're like oh i might
09:01have been wrong about that that one so i would say roller coaster that's a good one i would say
09:05adventure it's definitely adventurous like it's it's an adventure you're gonna go on a you're gonna go
09:11on a trip for this one and you might not come back
09:15awesome well thank you all so much for your time today truly appreciate it thank you
09:22appreciate it
