00:00Hi guys, my name is Lacey Redway. I'm a celebrity hairstylist. I was the girl in middle school
00:14doing everybody's hair. I was that girl. So it's always been a part of my identity. I think it's
00:19important when you want to work in this industry to have a clear, concise vision of what you want
00:25and where you want the end result to go. There's so many different defining moments in my career.
00:30It's really, really difficult to name just one. But I would say one of my favorite moments was
00:36Oscar 2015 with Carmine Jogo, who's in a movie Selma. If you haven't seen it, it's an amazing movie.
00:43But I would say my favorite moment is my first Essence cover. Black women in Hollywood, I did
00:49Nicole Bahari, who's one of my favorite clients. She's such a chill person, and I love her.
00:55As a woman of color, there's really not any other magazine out there that, to me, of that standard
01:02that, you know, my mom could be like, oh my God, you did Essence? You know, so proud. Like, wow,
01:09you know, you made it because you did Essence.
