00:00Today has been my first Essence cover shoot.
00:21It's been lots of fun.
00:24I've been working with people I've been working with for a while,
00:27Michaela Erlanger and Nick Burroughs and Larry Simms,
00:30and we did a very Metallica look inspired by Star Wars,
00:34and it was great working with Greg Lewis as the photographer.
00:37He's fast and fun.
00:42I'm learning a lot about my hair.
00:44I'm not the best at taking care of my hair.
00:47I'm learning that natural oils are very good for it.
00:51I use a mix that I actually got on the set of Star Wars.
00:55I can't remember all the goodness in it,
00:57but it's keeping my hair really healthy.
00:59I call it the Boyega mix.
01:04I mean, my brother has his own light,
01:06and I'm so proud of him.
01:08He's just such a charming, infectious human being,
01:13and I'm just encouraging him to be himself, you know?
01:17I think that's the best thing in the business,
01:20to lead with yourself before you take on character.
01:24And the perfect character!
