00:00The hairstyle that makes me feel the most beautiful is my big curls.
00:09I'm a free spirit and I love when my looks kind of reflect that.
00:19My relationship with my hair has continually evolved.
00:23I grew up around a lot of white girls and I didn't really have a reference for curly hair around me.
00:28So I kind of wanted to just fit in.
00:30And then as I started to grow more, I experimented with weaves and clip-ins and braids and everything just to try to figure out what felt the most me.
00:40You know, I changed the color of my hair and kind of when I did that, my whole life transformed as well.
00:44I just felt that it was the right color for me.
00:46I felt that my little lioness was coming out to play.
00:54I think anyone can wear their hair whatever way they want.
00:57I think there's so many ways to express yourself.
01:00I've never really been shy about admitting that I do wear wigs and stuff.
01:05I think it's performative.
01:07It's a way to express yourself.
01:08I just think people should embrace whatever looks they want to do.
01:11And no one should judge each other about it because, you know, that doesn't get anyone anywhere.
01:16Black is beautiful means really everything to me.
01:23It has transformed my life.
01:25I think as soon as I embraced what that is, it connected me to just the community of beautiful women and men around me.
01:33To know that there are so many people like me that share my story.
01:38It's just inspiring.
01:39It makes you feel confident and also makes you feel that you're doing this for more than just yourself.
01:43And also to never give up because there's never been a time in history where black people have given up.
01:48And I don't think there ever will be a time where we give up.
