00:00We now have a new 45th president that's been declared and the Black Lives Matter movement
00:09has faced criticism for not having clear demands from government. What do you say to that and what
00:14do you now want Trump to do? It's unbelievable. I honestly have no set thing for President Trump
00:25right now because he literally is a candidate that has not engaged young Black voters, movement,
00:34protesters, none of us. Literally not one thing, not one piece of policy. The only thing that Trump
00:43offers for Black people is, you know, he assumes we all live in the inner cities. So it's truly at
00:50ground zero. Like there is, I don't even know where to start. If Trump were to reach out to you
00:55and ask for advice, would you work with him? No. You would not work with him. So if you wouldn't
01:01work with him, then how do we expect things to get moving? Because we have to work with some of
01:04the powers that be or is what is the plan B if we don't work with with him? So me saying personally
01:12that I would not work with Donald Trump is me speaking for me. The movement is not a monolith.
01:19There are thousands of individuals in this movement and there might be some young Black people
01:24who are in places of leadership who would work with Donald Trump. Me, myself personally, I will not.
01:30So then how do we move the ball forward? It's the morning after. What are our next steps? How do we
01:36move the ball forward? And what specific legislation do we want to see now in place now that he's in
01:41office?
01:42I honestly, I do not have like a coherent answer. I just, I feel like I'm just in a state of shock
01:54really that America did this to itself, that this happened the way that a lot of my friends believe
02:02that this would happen. So again, I really don't even have an answer.
02:07Do you have any advice for the, for young millennials out there who are now feeling maybe a little
02:12defeated and who are in shock, just like some of the rest of us on how they can affect change
02:17in their cities and districts?
02:19I do believe that local elections matter. I voted yesterday specifically because I was concerned
02:26about certain propositions and amendments that were on the ballot in St. Louis locally.
02:30Um, so I suggest that we all get really into our local elections, um, be familiar with local
02:40officials, be familiar with the politicians and where they stand on issues that affect black
02:45communities. Um, that's really my only advice is to just get into the local politics.
