00:00Hey, I'm Remy Ma, and a problem that I see has to do with women who want to or trying
00:09to or either cannot conceive.
00:13And this is something that was brought to my attention due to my own situation.
00:18You know, I had a child when I was very young, I was a teenager, and I didn't even consider
00:24having any more children until I was married with my husband.
00:28And we got pregnant, and we were very excited, we were very happy about it, and didn't find
00:34out until it was too late that it was an ectopic pregnancy, which means that the baby is actually
00:39growing inside of your fallopian tubes, which aren't designed to stretch as opposed to your
00:44uterus.
00:45So it had got past the point where, you know, they could probably give me a medication or
00:50something to save my fallopian tubes.
00:53So at this point, the doctor told me, you know, you would not be able to have children naturally.
00:58You can definitely have children because your eggs are fine, your uterus is fine, it's just
01:02your fallopian tubes are damaged.
01:05And I was like, first I was distraught, I was embarrassed, I was ashamed, like I felt less
01:09than a woman.
01:11And he assured me that, you know, that was no way to feel and that, you know, for a certain
01:16amount of thousands of dollars, it could be fixed.
01:19And because I have the finances, I never even thought twice about it.
01:22I was like, all right, how many thousand, okay, no problem, we'll start doing it now.
01:26But it wasn't until that I publicly spoke about it that I realized how many women are in the
01:33same predicament as me, where they actually can have children, they just need an assist
01:37from, you know, medical procedures, and they can't because they are not financially stable
01:43enough to do it.
01:45And I think the percentage is actually 80% of women who can't have children.
01:50It's not because they can't physically have children, it's because they can't afford to
01:53physically have children.
01:55And it was just weird to me that if you wanted to terminate a pregnancy, you could use your
02:03health insurance.
02:04However, if you wanted to conceive, health insurance didn't cover that.
02:11So I'm looking at all of these politicians that claim they're pro-life, and they want
02:15to eradicate, you know, women having the choice to terminate their pregnancies.
02:20But if you're pro-life, why would you not set up something so women who can conceive and
02:24women who want to be mothers and women who want to have children can do so?
02:28So that's something that since I heard about and since I found out the details about it
02:33that I have been so passionate about and adamant about, I'm trying to start my own fund right
02:39now so that women who are like me or have similar situations to me but they can't afford
02:45it, they can possibly, you know, get these procedures done and have children.
02:49Because as a woman, that's one of the things that you can do that no other being can do.
02:57Like, you're a man, I don't care what you, a tomboy.
02:59If you could be a tomboy, you're a woman, you can have children.
03:03But it's like, when that's taken away from you, I don't feel like it should be taken
03:07away from you because of money.
03:10Like, people put too much of a value on money as opposed to the value on life.
03:15And that's something that I'm very passionate about.
03:18I'm Remy Ma, and I'm a citizen of Woke Wonderland.
03:27I'm Remy Ma.
