00:00Now, with the tragic murder of 26 people, many of whom were family members, at a church
00:10in Texas, it has us all mourning and grasping yet again to a solution to gun violence and
00:15mass shootings.
00:16Like, seriously?
00:17Seriously?
00:18What do we do?
00:19Is the answer better gun control laws, mental health screenings, or even arming more people,
00:24particularly those gathered in large numbers in public places like churches?
00:28Well, the Texas Attorney General thinks so.
00:31Ken Paxton recently told Fox News, we need in churches at least arming of some of the
00:36parishioners or the congregation so that they can respond when something like this happens
00:41again.
00:42But many in the faith community disagree, saying that using violence to fight violence is not
00:46only unchristian, but it'll also just lead to more people being killed.
00:50Would you be comfortable attending church when the members or staff carry guns?
00:53Yes, even churches need protection.
00:55No, churches should be sanctuaries from violence.
00:57So, a couple people said no, a couple.
00:59O'Shane O'Hart, more guns in the place of worship.
01:02Yeah, that'll solve the problem, sarcastically.
01:04Boyenko says, this is a sad state of affairs if people have to be packing when they go to
01:08church.
01:09But the scales are tipping.
01:10So, a lot of people said, no, we need protection in the church, which I was surprised by.
01:13Is that right?
01:14Wow, 67% said yes, churches need protection, and 33% said no.
01:19I'm with the 33%.
01:20You can carry your gun, but does it need to be an AR-15?
01:23Does it need to be, if you're not serving in war, why do you need a gun like that?
01:27It's not the solution.
01:28It's not the solution.
