Transcript
00:00He really is. Speaking of a young dope talent. A dope talent you guys. Marse Martin in the building. Thank you so much. How are you? Congratulations on everything. Yes. And we are also joined by Regine Moore, the Director of Multicultural Diversity.
00:19We are just so happy that you are here, just making this special moment available to us. We have a really special moment on the red carpet for Walmart. To celebrate Black History Month, Walmart is doing something super special. Regine, tell us what you guys have for Marseille.
00:35From entrepreneurship to activism, they truly encourage all of us to reign on. And I'm so happy to bring the Reign On campaign to life with Essence.
00:43I love that. And that's so amazing. And it's dope because Miss Marseille Martin is getting the award, which is incredible. They created an award for you, especially. Isn't that crazy?
00:53That's so crazy. And I'm so beyond grateful.
00:55And so you're getting, because you're a fierce young woman. Oh, my mic isn't working? Because you're such a fierce young woman who's doing so many incredible things. What does it feel like to be honored by Walmart, by such an incredible campaign?
01:07Hey, I mean, I'm just so grateful just to be here and just to be honored. It's such a great group of people and being with my peers. It's just amazing. And I just want to keep on inspiring young black girls.
01:20And so, Regine, I believe you want to present Marseille with something super special. So please take it away.
01:24Yes. Well, Marseille, you truly exemplify all that it means to reign on. With your passionate spirit, undeniable talent, and keen sense of self, you propelled yourself into making history, not only as an actress, but as the youngest executive producer in Hollywood.
01:41And that's nothing to be ashamed of. You're amazing. In addition, your efforts in anti-bullying have really encouraged people to learn how to tackle bullying and to deal with social isolation.
01:52And you truly deserve this reign on award for all that you've accomplished. It's so pretty!
02:04Speech! Speech! How do you feel right now, Marseille?
02:07Wait, okay. Well, first of all, I didn't even know this was happening. Yes. Thank you so much. This is definitely an honor.
02:14Of course, I wanted to thank God, my parents, my family, and, of course, the young black girls that are just inspiring me to keep on continuing doing what I love.
02:24And thank you so much. Like, for real. This is dope. Thank you.
02:28Thank you, Marseille.
02:29And shout-out to Walmart for caring about young black talent in Hollywood, like Marseille Martin.
02:34And, Marseille, you are executive producing your very first film, Little, that we are all excited to see.
02:39What can you tell us about Little?
02:41Oh, well, I can't say a lot because, you know, I don't want to spoil anything.
02:46But, of course, it's about, like, a tech mogul that is rich, doing her thing, feeling herself.
02:50But, of course, the people that work with her don't really like her.
02:54You know, she's kind of mean at that point.
02:55You know, she can get a little crazy sometimes.
02:57So, one day, someone turns her the wrong way, which happens to be a young girl that wishes her little,
03:04and turns her to me, and she has to go back to school and do all these things that she wished she couldn't do.
03:09And she has to just figure out how to turn to her regular Jordan self again.
03:15Good. I'm so happy for you.
03:16And I've seen the trailer, and I posted it, like, 27 times on my Insta stories,
03:21because it's going to be so good, and I'm so excited that you are leading the film and the EP.
03:27That pressure, is it making you nervous, or how are you feeling?
03:31Um, no, no pressure at all.
03:33Just great.
03:34No, I'm chilling, you know what I mean?
03:35Real boss moves, you know what I'm saying?
03:37And still sleeping.
03:39That's all that matters to me, you know what I mean?
03:42But, no, just having positive energy around keeps me in a good mood.
03:46So, I'm pretty good.
03:47Thank you so much.
03:48And thank you again to Walmart for honoring you and black talent everywhere.
03:52Thank you so much, you guys.
03:53Enjoy, yes, enjoy your award, and enjoy the afternoon.
03:55We're going to help you down because you look amazing.
03:58See you inside.
03:59See you inside.
