Transcript
00:00Hey everybody, Janelle Snowden here with the lady whose name I don't really need to tell you.
00:05Hey Essence, it's Essence.
00:07Hello Essence.
00:09I grew up with Essence.
00:10I was named after the magazine.
00:12Were you really named after the magazine?
00:14My mother used to work for the magazine back in 1973.
00:17So you are part of my legacy.
00:19When you think of those words, Essence Festival, tell me what comes to mind.
00:23What feelings does it evoke?
00:24So 25 years of Essence Festival is the largest gathering of African-American women ever in the country every year.
00:33And it's a wonderful time, not just for commerce, not just for curators of content, but also for us to just gather, to celebrate each other, to uplift each other, to hug each other.
00:44If you haven't done 23andMe or you haven't done Ancestry.com, you can find your roots and find your family at Essence Fest.
00:51And the music, oh my God, the music.
00:55You're going to make babies.
00:56No, but seriously, there should be a study done about how many babies are made at the Essence Festival.
01:01Seriously, so what's nine months from July?
01:03Whoever is born, whatever is nine months from July, you might have been made at the Essence Festival.
01:07That's very possible.
01:09Proceed with caution.
01:10For more info, go to EssenceFestival.com.
