The supermodel dishes on her BlackGirlMagic moments.
Transcript
00:00Black girl magic means to me the support of one another. The support, the respect,
00:08the admiration, the elegance, the gracefulness, the honesty and really
00:14supporting of one another. It's very important. I've been very very lucky to
00:18say that I have experienced that type of black girl magic in my life and blessed
00:22to have been brought in under a wing and so I think you have to share and give
00:26that back. The best was being with my colleagues, walking on the runway
00:31together, unified. Why do I think fashion has a problem with diversity? I think it's
00:36just more about educating one's mind and being open and not having a color code
00:42and just picking a girl because she's beautiful. My books are the beginning of
00:48the legacy that I want to leave behind. I'm very open and candid about most
00:52things about myself. I don't believe in being dishonest. There's no reason to be.
00:56It always comes out anyway when you tell something that's not true. So why?
01:01Working hard is what my family's about. My family's a middle-class family that
01:05work very hard. My mother's not into someone that listens to excuses. That is
01:08not working in her books. And I don't make excuses for things. I just try and find
01:13another way to get what I want, how I want.
