00:00What's up Essence.com? I'm Dana Blair. This is 7 Things We're Talking About and I'm just
00:11going to jump right into it with number one. Streaming service Tidal and the artists who've
00:15invested in it have promised exclusive material to fans willing to pay. That promise bore fruit
00:20for fans of Beyonce and Nicki Minaj as the artists released their video for Feeling Myself on the
00:26platform on the heels of Jay-Z subscribers only concert over the weekend. The video for a
00:31collaboration on Minaj's 2014 album The Pink Print depicts the most fun weekend any two friends have
00:36ever had at Coachella with water pistols, burgers and fries, time spent relaxing in a kiddie pool,
00:42you know the usual stuff. Given the two stars at the center of the video though no one should be
00:47surprised to know there's some fairly committed dancing too. The video is creating quite a buzz
00:51and will be more than likely the jam of the summer. And some more Beyonce news. Beyonce was in Haiti
00:56recently to check out some of the progress made since the 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the
01:01country five years ago. The pop queen was able to meet with some of the people who were affected by
01:05the devastating earthquake that claimed as many as 300,000 lives. Beyonce was accompanied by Valerie Amos,
01:11the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Chief and Emergency Relief Coordinator. Though the dates of
01:16the trip were not disclosed, the 20-time Grammy winner posted photos from her visit on social media
01:21alongside the caption, Haiti humanitarian mission in hashtag Baygood. The black and white and color
01:27photographs showed the singer wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the name of her charity, Baygood,
01:32while meeting with doctors and patients at a hospital touring communities and passing out
01:35coloring books to children. The Billboard Music Awards took place and I must say it was a pretty
01:40interesting night. Chris Brown walked the carpet with his daughter. Iggy got backlash as best new rap
01:45song and Kanye was censored for over a minute as pyrotechnics hid him from view. Nicki Minaj performed
01:51her hits and Mariah Carey to many was amiss as her voice was not necessarily on point as she recovers
01:56from bronchitis. Catch pics from the red carpet and our top highlights right here on essence.com.
02:03A job seeking mom arrested last year after leaving her children in her vehicle while she had a job
02:08interview was sentenced Friday to 18 years supervised probation and allowed to apply for interstate travel.
02:14Jenisha Taylor, age 35, of Phoenix previously had pleaded guilty to one count of child abuse in an
02:19effort to resolve a case that garnered national attention in part because of her teary mugshot.
02:24Taylor attracted sympathy around the nation after her tear-stained mugshot went viral on the internet.
02:29Her story of trying to get a job but not being able to find child care resonated with the public
02:34and she received more than $114,000 in donations through an online site, but she became the target of
02:40backlash after she missed deadlines to fund a trust for her children and questions arose about where
02:45the money went. We hope that Taylor is able to get her life back on track. The Dior Secret Garden
02:51campaign starring Rihanna is out. She's in a beautiful palace with gowns and I must say it is quite
02:56magical. More important to note, a previously unheard song in the background titled Only a Foreign Night
03:02is Rihanna's. According to Dior's website, the track was produced by Midas and will serve as the
03:06opener on her upcoming album R8. Riri is the first woman of color to represent the Dior house.
03:12Blue singer, guitarist, songwriter, and icon B.B. King passed away at the age of 89 after a series of
03:17strokes. The legend will be buried at the B.B. King Museum in Mississippi. The museum, which welcomes
03:22visitors from around the globe, will host the 35th annual B.B. King Homecoming Festival, a tribute to
03:27the King. The concert will be headlined by the North Mississippi All-Stars. And last but certainly not least,
03:34Janet Jackson fans' wishes have been answered. Just weeks after a mock missing poster asking for
03:39her to return went viral, the singer has revealed some big news. According to E! News, Jackson has
03:45officially announced via a video posted on Twitter that she's back. I promise you'd hear it from my
03:50lips and now you will, she says in the videos. This year, new music, new world tour, a new movement,
03:56says Jackson. Jackson has kept a low profile since marrying with Sam Almana in 2012. Solo that the mock
04:02poster calling for her return read, Seriously, Janet, where the hell are you? We need you back.
04:07We miss you. Your fans miss you. The music industry needs you. Come back and show these young
04:12whippersnappers how it's done, the poster read. We're not asking, we're begging. There's no word
04:18yet on when fans can expect a new album or tour, but Jackson made it clear that it's on the way.
04:22You can watch the announcement video right here on Essence.com. And nope, there you have it.
