00:00Joining me now we have Shawn Thompson of the Lincoln Motor Company. She is Multicultural
00:08Marketing Manager. How are you doing this evening? Great, thank you. How are you enjoying
00:12this chilly L.A. night thus far? Are you kidding me? I'm here from Detroit where it was 18
00:17degrees and snow up to here, so this is wonderful. That's how I feel about being here from Brooklyn.
00:22I'm like, this is vacation. This feels wonderful. So tell me, why is this evening Black Women
00:27in Music so important to the Lincoln Motor Company? Well, it's very important, so much
00:30so that this is our sixth year returning as the presenting sponsor, and this is just our
00:35way of showing how Lincoln supports African American women, how we support the arts, especially
00:40music, and just a wonderful partnership we have with Essence Communications. Yes, it
00:45has been an absolutely amazing partnership, and thank you so very much for that. But now
00:48I've got to get to the good stuff here. Who are you looking forward to seeing tonight?
00:52I'm looking forward to seeing Jill Scott. You know, I recently got married a couple of
00:56years ago, and because of her song, it was the only one my husband has ever danced with
01:02me, and so we practiced and listened to that song, So In Love, for two months in a row, so
01:07I want to hear it live, and I hope she sings it tonight. I hope she does, too. I love that
01:11story. That's a great story. Thank you so very much, Shawn, and I'll see you inside.
01:14Thank you. Bye-bye.
