00:26How would we describe the music?
00:28Basically it's eclectic and imaginative and playful
00:35and so we like to come up with genres to kind of accommodate to that.
00:47Our relationship that's developed with Remy came about with René and Prusper
00:56and it's pretty insane that he has just begun, you know, he's just started his label Flying Buddha
01:03and that he respects our music enough to want us to be the arrowhead of that movement.
01:12At the end of the day the reason why I feel like people resonate with it, I mean, and predominantly like in the US, is because it's very emotive and sincere and soul.
01:34Yeah, and you can relate to, I guess, anyone with a soul and that can feel music, you know, for the true essence of music.
01:45I guess that's what we're trying to do and that's why it's easier to label it as soul music, I guess.
01:51It's totally an honour, you know, to be associated and to be invited to play on films with, you know, acts like Erykah Badu and D'Angelo,
02:06and just total idols to us. You know, they've totally been, you know, massively influential in the music that we make and the music that inspires us and the message that they put out.
02:35they put out through their music. So, yeah, I mean, to come from sort of obscurity and just be doing this thing in Melbourne for ourselves and then such a short time later,
02:48to be on bills with, you know, Erykah and, you know, people like Busta Rhymes and Carmen and, you know, like, yeah, to be embraced by that community is,
03:04it's, it's totally mind-blowing.
03:182014? I mean, we're all just really excited to get in the studio, right?
03:22Absolutely, yeah.
03:23We've opened another record.
03:24Yeah.
03:25Just get my back home and, and creating more music. Same thing we've been doing for the last couple of years. Just really pushing our creative boundaries, I guess.
03:39And we've just done, um, a two-month tour, so a month in Europe and a month in New Orleans. And, um, so yeah, it's kind of split up in blocks of, like, time to record, time to, um, for touring. And we only really just finished a home studio, like, a week, two weeks before we left, so it's kind of like, it's ready and it's like, all right, you gotta go. So, we're all really excited, um, to get back and work on that.
04:07And it's gonna be, yeah, it's gonna be interesting, because I think, like, when we've made Talk Film Hoc, we weren't getting, um, you know, any funds or anything from anywhere, so, um, you know, we're all trying to fit everything else in around us, so now we can actually get back, and as Nate said, now the studio's finished, we can really just focus on getting this album.
