Essence TV talks to Music World Gospel artists, Trin-i-tee 5:7
Transcript
00:00We went to high school together and we used to kind of share music in the gym.
00:12When we were supposed to be in class.
00:15But I ran into Chanel. We had graduated recently and she told me that her manager was putting together a group for a record label.
00:25And do you want to be a part? I'm like, yeah. And so we kind of went on from there.
00:30I think after like six months, we were signed in a year. God's grace was on the radio.
00:36One of the messages that's always been important to us is that, you know, God is love.
00:41And being a Christian is so much simpler, I think, than people make it out to be.
00:46We tend to put all these rules and limitations on one another that God has not put on us.
00:53It's just really important to remain authentic in your message.
00:57Not to project this superhero, this super spiritual hero like we're not flawed because we are.
01:05Some people have a desire to sing and minister to the people in the church.
01:09And I think our desire is more to talk to the people of the world.
01:14You know, we kind of we consider ourselves women of the world.
01:17We fight to make sure that just as big as God is because he's inside of us, we're going to stay that way, too.
01:23XM Series is so important to has been very instrumental in our career.
01:28Millions and millions of people get to simultaneously hear and hear our hearts.
01:38We don't take that for granted. We're not perfect. God is.
01:44And if you can just remain true to yourself and love you for who you are and where you are,
01:50I think that's such a powerful message to get out on, you know, stations like this.
01:56Matthew Knowles is very excited about Music World Gospel and that just encourages us.
02:04It motivates us to see him pumped up and he's all, you know, smiling from ear to ear.
02:08He came to rehearsal last night. It's just, you know, it's just I think that's one of the important things
02:13to kind of feel like you're a part of something because we've always stood out and been like the odd man out in the gospel industry.
02:19But we got a bunch of people like us now. Yeah. Matthew will not quit until he gets the appropriate people in place to execute.
02:28It's a good merge. As it relates to the digital age for gospel, man, that's it's been a huge help.
02:36It's not so much that other church going people are online so much.
02:42So now you have people who never heard of gospel that may have made a mistake and clicked on something.
02:48Right by accident. And they're like, oh, I never heard of this before. This is refreshing.
02:53Right. I think it makes it more accessible. Yeah. Yeah.
02:57We're working on our seventh album, A New Day, and we are so excited about it.
03:03We're writing and we're working with like incredible producers and the sound is new and it's fresh and it's us.
03:12You know, so we're just really excited and ready to kind of pour our hearts out to our fans.
03:17We've had people supporting us for so long and we just want to give back to them and give them us.
03:23Our best. Yeah. We care about giving our best.
03:26Hi, we're Trinity Five Seven and you're watching Essence TV.
