00:00Hi, I'm Octavia Spencer, and I'm partnering with Child Mind Institute, and I wanted to share some of the things that I'm doing to stay mentally healthy during this time of self-isolation and quarantine.
00:20I'm listening to a lot of music. I find that very therapeutic. I'm reaching out to family and friends to stay socially connected while we are physically distancing.
00:34I am meditating a lot, actually, and I am trying to learn one new thing that I carry throughout this whole ordeal, and that is I'm trying to learn to cook.
00:53Now, one would think that, you know, I probably would have ventured down that road a long time ago, but no.
01:01But I've made progress with, you know, boiling eggs and trying to bake. Don't start out baking. Baking is a science and a real skill.
01:14But if you're anxious, please reach out and talk to someone, and it's okay to be anxious.
01:25This is a very traumatic thing that we're all experiencing, and we're doing that together.
01:31So, it's also very good to go on walks. Remain physically distant, but getting a little exercise and vitamin D will also release endorphins, and you feel a lot better.
01:51And journaling. Journaling is also good. By the time we come out of this, you'll be able to see what your thought process was throughout the whole ordeal, and hopefully we will all come out on the other side.
02:07Actually, I know we'll come out on the other side of this. Okay. But reach out, and it's okay. It's okay to be anxious.
