07:03left off and i got back into the young and the rest because the storylines i was just back in
07:08my mother's show we had to watch it yeah for sure um uh let's see you also released a book
07:17right yeah it was your walk talk about your book real quick because we artists don't always you know
07:23we don't have time for a little bit yeah yeah yeah so what uh what led you to do that and
07:29what was the process for you to do that well i redid the book because i didn't like the publisher
07:35that had the book before i'm just gonna be honest and i took control over my my work again i had to
07:42wait a while to get it back got it back read my husband redid the cover for me and we re-edited i
07:49got some partners to start a book publishing company with me chinway ya publishing and my mom helped edit
07:56she's loves books that's where i get it from we went to the library every saturday library and laundromat
08:02you know so that was every saturday that was our thing and so she loves books and i created this
08:08platform for because of my mom she loved to read books and i wanted to have a platform of my own so
08:15i figured it out you know you're an arthur and so it took forever to write that book and get it done
08:22and i rewrote it added four new chapters and it's beautiful i'm very proud of it i'm working on the
08:27audio book of it so right now that's a beautiful thing y'all make sure you get that thanks for the

09:27thing out and he had a production company i studied who wrote the songs because i always want to know
09:32who wrote that song because maybe one day i'll meet them and they can write something for me so i
09:37looked it up i went whoa jordan did that you're smart you're smart look at you know what and if you
09:47watch unsung hello it'll tell oh i'm a big fan of unsung i guess i missed that in my
09:53his was one of the earlier ones i i missed the earlier one yeah unsung is definitely one of my
09:58favorite shows i mean did you see the shannon one that's out i did okay i'm sorry i'm running my
10:03mouth yeah the way they way they the way they roll it out man they just know how to tell
10:07that story um okay we got two more left two more you're three out of three right now all right two
10:14more left all right what are the real names of the sisters who perform as mary mary i know you know
10:21them a erica and tina b renee and gene c maxine and terry d trina and tawanda so before i say my answer
10:32i would like to say happy birthday to erica campbell today it is erica's birthday birthday yes yes yes
10:38and tina yes i know that was that was an easy one for you i have a song out with them right now i'm
10:47putting out a project called uh gospel according to pj well yes i know when it was coming out pre-corona
10:55but uh but we do have a single that's out right now called all in his plan and it features mary mary
11:01and lee andrea johnson whoa and it's beautiful one of my favorite gospel songs right now i didn't
11:06mean to plug myself but how come i didn't get no texts about this man i'm late i would have if you
11:11put that as a question i would have lost you know you're four out of four lead i mean come on man
11:20you're doing this you're doing okay all right one more all right no pressure here we go american idol
11:26fifth season standout paris bennett is the granddaughter of what vocal powerhouse a ann
11:35nesby b patty labelle c shirley caesar d gladys knight okay i'm gonna tell you the story i was
11:43hanging out at a grammy party before i give my answer because i know okay um and ann nesby who
11:50met my mother and they were talking and we found out we're cousins wow through a conversation
11:59wow i was like whoa that's your we're cousins so it's the answer is definitely ann nesby because
12:05oh my god five out of five y'all make some noise for legacy she came through hard on the first one
12:13let me bring uh bridget and ro back all right yeah yeah the montel one would have stopped me
12:20no three of those really i wouldn't have gotten a shalamar either i wouldn't i knew shalamar
12:26it was easy for me unsung is my source
12:32like i don't know that one well let us see if you do myself i was i would have said i would have
12:38said raphael sadique or or babyface before i didn't know i was about to say babyface yeah
12:44i didn't know that one at all you know yeah and that's the range too you know i gotta get you
12:50gotta get you okay mantel yeah that's why he appeared after that he was like i'm cool yeah yeah
12:56he got him one he got a real one he's like all right right thank y'all for your time
13:02all right so no pressure y'all but you you kind of got to score perfectly at this pressure let us
13:09see started the bar so high all right so um i'm gonna stick with the ladies bridget you're gonna
13:14stay with me all right no legacy i'll see y'all in a in a second what's up um much love you ready bridge
13:22i'm ready i'm so ready yeah all right we go way back bridget yes you know we've shared some musicians
13:30uh out here um yeah i know brian's played bass for you before brian's been with me for a long time
13:37and you so where are you now because i know you new york girl but you went to la and
13:43yeah i live in l.a i decided to stay in l.a um going back to new york but obviously the way
13:49everything kind of came together the way all this pandemic has been it just didn't make sense for me
13:53to go anywhere so i just stayed put but it's been interesting i got my little studio set up in the
13:58house so i'm able to create and able to write and kind of just you know what i mean be be free be free
14:03and it seems like um new new york and la have been kind of polar opposites in this in this situation how
14:10it's been handled i guess la was super early on with the shutting things down new york's been moving
14:16i mean i think it's easier in l.a too though because we drive we drive we're all in our own
14:19cars in new york it's tough because everybody yeah and everybody's walking in the street everyone's
14:24on the train so i think i mean my mother's in new york i feel like new yorkers are just like
14:29they just roll with the punches new yorkers are incredibly resilient in that way same same same
14:34yeah that kind of stuff you just you stay put you know you hunker down and you make it and you make
14:39it work and i feel like my mother's doing that so i'm happy i'm happy about it so have you been have
14:44you been feeling creative because i know at a moment for me in the beginning i could i couldn't
14:50really create like i just needed a second really to figure out what what was going on and then i had
14:56this uh this spurt of creativity and then my laptop crashed and and then i paused a minute but i'm back
15:04i'm back and uh but how are you like are you are you creating right now are you feeling like you need
15:09to think because i don't think there's a right answer you know it's like no i feel like i feel
15:13like i'm i kind of treated it like a like a little kid right like at first i was like oh we're going
15:17to be stuck in the house we don't have to go anywhere it's like snow days you know what i'm
15:20saying like we don't have to go anywhere we don't have to do anything for real so i was kind of excited
15:24at the beginning and then after like the first month i kind of hit that wall of like i don't want
15:28to go outside i don't want to create in my house i don't want to be i don't want to be here you
15:32know what i mean um i think more recently though i like i got up i got a whole different lamp i got like a blue
15:38light in my in my apartment moved plants around i had to just kind of change the energy because i
15:42realized like you know living in an apartment is really tough because i don't have a ton of space
15:46to just like build an entire studio it's just a really small setup so if i'm sitting right now yeah
15:53if i'm sitting in the living room my my stuff is kind of looking at me like so you gonna pick up the
15:57mic today or you know what i mean like it's kind of i feel like i'm getting more into a routine i think
16:01establishing a routine is the best has been the best for me i get up in the morning i work out
16:06have some coffee breakfast yeah and then see you know see how i feel luckily the weather the
16:12weather's really nice in la too so it's been it's been nice i feel like i'm starting to get back
16:16into that that feeling of inspiration and creating again because it's hard you know what i mean like
16:21the stuff that we're inspired by as writers is like it's life you know what i mean it's being with
16:25our friends moving around seeing things traveling it's going to different places trying new restaurants
16:30just like trying to you know kind of kind of be moved and motivated by outside forces but
16:35it's definitely been a lesson in discipline if nothing else no doubt well i i'm sure i speak for
16:41myself and everybody else we want to hear your voice you know i still listen to special delivery like
16:47i always tell you that's my that is my song man so um okay you ready to get into this uh this here game
16:54let's do it i'm ready all right all right let's play some b-side all right first question all of
17:00the members of new edition are from boston except later edition johnny gill where is johnny from a
17:08detroit b dc c chicago d philly i know i feel like all my all my friends who were in the new edition story
17:21you're gonna kill me because i feel like i didn't i didn't know this one i didn't know i didn't i didn't
17:24realize that he wasn't from boston um oh okay i knew he wasn't from boston but i didn't know where
17:30he was from so all right um can't phone a friend can't phone a friend there's no lifeline and i'll
17:37probably this is wrong but it's fine um i'm gonna go with a detroit uh it was from uh from dc actually
17:46really yeah from dc okay chocolate city oh johnny just got all that soul from from chocolate city
17:53all right that's all right all right that's okay coming back that's cool it's about how you finish
18:02all right okay this is not i'm sorry it's going to be harder than last week and i watched and i
18:09watched we were hard last week yes yes okay all right which 90s actress did not release an
18:15album a jasmine guy b tisha campbell c lisa bonnet d tatiana ali
18:28man all right i feel like i feel like i should go on shows um man if you had to guess if i had to guess
18:39i'm gonna go with jasmine guy that did not release an album that did not release an album
18:50is that wrong that's wrong it's lisa bonnet that was my second thought too and you know what what i
18:56thought was i don't remember jasmine singing but i don't either i don't remember a single but lisa bonnet i
19:02feel like if she released an album we would have like known about it you know what i'm saying like it would
19:06have been yeah maybe but see i feel like i feel like she would have done something really eclectic
19:11though that's why i was like left the center and had a guy released an album though like a whole
19:17album i guess so yeah yeah all right hey we're still moving we're having a good time we gotta we
19:25gotta make a jordan comeback we gotta all right here's one i know you know this i know you know this
19:30one right here all right the soul singer first captured the world's detention in a coca-cola
19:36commercial this soul singer a tevin campbell b tyrese c john legend d neil that is b tyrese
19:45because i remember that he was my first celebrity crush like oh word yes i remember watching that
19:51commercial and being like oh my god i could totally run into him on the bus and he'd be singing and i was
19:56king back and it would be cute yes i loved that it was definitely a real moment when we saw because
20:01he was singing for real and that was for the people who had the ear for singing like okay yeah this guy
20:06who's you know what i'm saying younger is singing like acapella yeah yeah we're good yeah all right
20:13we got one all right one it's only up from here it's only up all right oh my god i feel like i'm giving
20:20you hard questions okay all right here we go grammy award winning how can i ease the pain singer lisa
20:27fisher is featured in the movie 20 feet from stardom because of her story career as a backing vocalist
20:34who ditched who didn't she sing background for a the rolling stones b luther vandross c sting d shaka
20:44con e stevie wonder i'm sorry this is ridiculous um it's kind of hard i i watched that once i watched
20:56that 20 people started once and i know same same yeah um i'm with you man i'm lucky to be the host
21:03right now i mean i would be i would be with you this feels this feels like it's it's it's it's like a
21:09trick it's almost a trick question um i feel like luther makes sense as even even though even
21:18though sting sting was eclectic and sting but sting still makes sense shaka makes sense the rolling
21:23stones is the only one that doesn't feel like they had background singers like that so i'm gonna go with
21:28the rolling stones oh it is like a trick question though right because it was a trick question okay
21:36trying to get you be they're getting they're actually i'm getting got at the moment i'm gonna
21:42talk to them i'm gonna talk to them because they they're trying to get you you know i don't know
21:48but i do um rolling stones they were actually like some of the first singers that when rolling
21:53all started because they do that blue stuff right and they always to be honest they always
21:59seem to have like two black girls singing with them wow i had no idea see that i didn't know
22:04that i would that i wouldn't have guessed i always think of i think of rolling stones i think of them
22:08as being a band and just being and rocking new york um who did the voice sings with them like even
22:15currently when we were outside you know what i'm saying we were it's true i just saw somebody say
22:20you definitely got harder questions these are definitely harder these are top questions all right
22:27we're ending we're ending you got this b all right which r&b duo are siblings a jane b changing faces
22:38c chloe chloe and hallie d rough ends um i know them i know them personally and they are the sweetest
22:45girls in the world and i met them a long time ago and their parents are the best every time i see their
22:50mom it's literally it's like it's like running into your auntie at a family reunion so it's yeah hallie
22:55let's see yes yes despite these hard questions you are smart bk i appreciate you chloe and hallie
23:01are super sweet i met them one time they came through i used to do an open mic in new orleans
23:07and they just like pulled up you know they just pulled up and came through i could already tell
23:11their spirits were like super chill let us see on row y'all come back in oh my god
23:17y'all gave her hard questions hold on because if let us see didn't know all of those answers and i'm
23:25not i i knew them all but you know all of them all yes she was ready man that jasmine guy when i knew
23:34yeah the jasmine guy i knew yeah she had a video because i could just feel like i could see her doing
23:38some music oh yeah what's that she did sing she sang on the show and lisa bonet i've never heard
23:47her sing never sir never just acting okay fair enough but that was those were hard though i would
23:53have i would have missed a lot of those i would have guessed lisa bonet probably but um no i meant
23:59guessing i didn't know oh yeah yeah yeah not i definitely would have guessed it because i was like
24:03have i ever heard her sing anywhere right anywhere i'm thinking it's probably the only person that to
24:10me if she did put out an album we wouldn't know yeah we definitely would have known i don't think
24:15that's that's the obvious answer but right all right there's no pressure there's no pressure here man
24:22we're just having a good time yeah some hard joints though yeah listen i got i was reading i'm like
24:28oh i'm sorry all right okay brother roe my guy let's do it we're gonna do this i see lettuce in
24:36and bridget in a second uh how you feeling man man i'm great how you feeling yes sir i'm good i'm
24:43i'm good it's good to see you the music is rolling with you as well you've been pushing last time going
24:50yes sir yeah yeah touchy philly that's selfish i'm just rolling out joints you know yeah is that
24:57what a while is that what your plan is right now just to just to just i mean is there album that this
25:03is leading to um well i've made i've i've recorded three albums at this point uh wow so the quarantine
25:11kind of threw me off a little bit for my plan for rollout yeah i was supposed to shoot some visuals and
25:17you know have an actual rollout on tour it's been like let us see i took i've been quarantining for
25:23about three years so yeah yeah i know you've been a little minute to sit back i can uh feel and think
25:30yeah process you know and uh so yeah i was about to roll out and here we go so it's kind of interesting
25:36it's like do you put music out right now or don't you yeah i feel like you should because people are
25:41home but then you hear things like streaming's down and ah so right well i think this is just about
25:47feeling yeah what we're being able to roll it out when when it feels right yeah i um you know i
25:53definitely think the streaming is going to come back around it's it's big once we figure out what
25:57the new normal is because people would stream so much while they were commuting you know what i'm
26:02saying i know that's what i did while i was driving or moving around um right in your car yeah we're
26:08trying to working out we're trying to figure it figure it out now but i think you feeding them something
26:13especially since you had so much yeah it's important you know what i'm saying people people
26:19people need to eat they need they need to eat yeah sure for sure um all right man you ready to uh
26:26get into this get into this game let's get it all right for sure all right number one which producer
26:33was not mentored by teddy riley uh a timberland b pharrell c rodney jerkins dark child d the dream
26:44which was not mentored by teddy i would say d the dream correct d the dream absolutely i met the dream
26:54when i lived in atlanta when i was still in atlanta and i he he's atlanta through and through he never
27:00he's atlanta yeah i worked with the dream i worked with him too man he's super dope too he's quick
27:05super cool quick yeah ideas on ideas love it for sure all right good start man good start let's go
27:14all right we moving um this r&b singer's dad wrote the theme songs for sitcoms different strokes one day
27:22at a time and the facts of life a q parker b omarion c robin thick d john b
27:35i'm gonna say hey what was the first one oh the first is q parker from 112 say
27:43c robin thick that's correct you smart yes sir alan thick who played on growing pains
27:52wrote all of those joints i i know because i um i used to do cheers in my show all the time right i'm
27:59i learned how to play keys besides church i learned how to play keys from tv show themes word um yeah
28:06what's happening all in the family i just used to practice those joints and um so that's how i
28:12fell on on robin thick's dad i'm like oh his dad rolled all of these yeah i'm robin king speaking of
28:18dads man we're both preachers kids he case man yes both preachers kids and and both uh are we're not
28:26preachers right right right right r&b singers how was that uh how do you think that shaped you because
28:32you know i i know you as as well as me you know it is it's um it's definitely a spiritual aspect to
28:39the music but how would you say um that shaped you i mean i don't think um people who aren't preachers
28:47kids can truly understand what how what that process feels like growing up and what it means
28:53um i like to talk to other preachers kids just to just to get their aspect um but you're in my field
28:59so i really want to know for sure how how it uh shaped you um it shaped well for one my dad was a
29:06pastor and a preacher and he was a drill sergeant in the military so he was super duper with it and
29:13uh he was super strict um and he was the oldest of his brothers and sisters so he was like their
29:20father basically so i had that so it was like super it's crazy but then when he really really got
29:28into church he went all the way in and everything was over like music was different he threw away
29:34records he threw away stds you couldn't listen to anything but gospel music but i will say that it uh
29:42it gave me perspective on life it gave me perspective on love it gave me respect a perspective
29:48on spirituality um even in my writing the way that i write i always it's not the feeling off top comes
29:57from that you know what i mean i relate to that you already know so it's like i i i love the feeling
30:04of gospel music and praise and the feeling that i felt so even with the guitar chords and the drums
30:12and the the way that the song is written and the the ad-libs like all of that i feel like is just
30:17transferred i mean to be honest with you i never sung in church maybe twice yeah yeah never did i was
30:23rebellious i was the one that i didn't want to do it did you know you could sing already when you
30:28were i knew i could sing okay i knew i could sing so my dad's whole side of the family song
30:33right same yeah and to be honest man yo my your dad was one of the ones my father listened to and i
30:42didn't realize that was your dad until i pulled up to your essence show wow i knew it sounds familiar but
30:50then when i saw him i was like oh in our connection it's all it's all connected it's beautiful it's
30:58crazy my my dad was the polar opposite in the in the sense there was nine of them he was the baby
31:04the last boy so i think some of that um i tell a lot of people i think what saved me was the fact
31:10that it wasn't it wasn't crazy strict because he got to see all of it right he was the baby boy
31:17and uh but we couldn't listen we couldn't listen to anything secular on sundays you know what i'm
31:21saying yeah he shut that down but we could because my dad was from d from windsor from canada but um
31:28you know so right across the tunnel from detroit so they had motown and they had you know stevie and
