00:16Very, very excited to be here. There's a lot of life in here, and you know, we're telling the story.
00:26It's really lovely to see everyone collaborating. It's one of my favorite things, so I'm excited.
00:34This is Monet Everett right here. I love everything she does. I love the creativity. I love the vision.
00:40And we, you know, we have a lot of fun together.
00:43I certainly have changed a lot with my hair over the years.
00:47I remember the moment I decided to be completely authentic with my hair, which was a huge decision as an actor in this industry
00:55that oftentimes goes by a European standard, let's be real.
00:59So it was big. It was big. Suddenly I was making, you know, socio-political commentary with my hair,
01:06which all of us black women do when we choose to wear our hair natural.
01:09It's a political statement. And so I was very happy to do that, and it took some time.
01:14But I'm very proud of where things have been shifting, where the industry is now, you know, how people are embracing black women
01:24and how their hair grows out of their scalp more than ever before.
01:27Because it's all about how we were really, you know, meant to be. We have to celebrate that.
01:32So I had such a good time with the shoot today. Now that my hair is natural, being able to change it up, but stay in that natural realm is really, really exciting.
01:43I love whenever I get to work with Sonequa. She is gorgeous, and I can pull off like any style.
01:49And I love that Sonequa's like, braid it up, bring it down, smooth it around.
01:53Yeah. All of that.
01:54Make it short, coily twisted. We have so much fun. And Sonequa is such an inspiration for our natural and textured sisters.

02:04And I love my makeup artist as well, Jessica Smalls. You know, she's somebody that I look to.
02:09And she did her thing today. There's so much color here. There's a wash of color.
02:15It's a very unique look that she was able to put together today as well. So it's exciting.
