00:00So let's move on to Hebrews. It says Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
00:10So again we're talking about who Jesus is. I did a couple of studies recently on the nature of Jesus
00:15as the son of God, son of man. And that we saw that Jesus is much more than a prophet, he's much
00:21more than a great man or a great moral teacher. He's God, Emmanuel, become man to dwell amongst us
00:26and revealed to us the way to God. He also is pre-existent, he's existed from eternity
00:31to eternity. John 1 says, in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and
00:39the word was God and all things were created through him and the word was made flesh and
00:44God amongst us. So he's saying that God has existed from eternity to eternity and in the
00:48person of Jesus he has always existed and he had been made flesh and God amongst us.
00:52He says, before Abraham was, I am. He came from heaven to earth to lift us up out of our
01:01sin to give us eternal life. Revelation tells us he's the lamb of God slain from the foundation
01:07of the world. Otherwise even the crucifixion was known to God before it happened from eternity
01:12to eternity. And he's the unique saviour, he's the only way to God. He's the only one who can
01:17remove the barrier of sin which separates us from God and bring us into a relationship with
01:21God. Revelation also tells us in chapter 5 that he's worshipped in heaven as alongside
01:30with God the Father. So we see in Revelation 5 that Jesus is worshipped in heaven as God.
01:36So you have Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever. He doesn't change. And 1 John 2
01:42actually tells us that any attempt to change the nature of Jesus is of the spirit of Antichrist.
01:47If you change his relationship between the Father and the Son, that means you are working
01:53under the spirit of Antichrist. What did Islam do? Change the relationship between the Father
01:59and the Son. It says that Jesus is just a prophet and it puts a curse actually on anyone who believes
02:04that Jesus is the Son of God. Spirit of Antichrist, changing the nature of the Lord Jesus.
02:11Jesus. You also have liberal theology, the Jehovah's Witnesses, New Age, Jesus. And Jesus himself
02:19warned us that false Christs and false prophets would come. So we have to come back to the original
02:25and Jesus the Messiah.
