00:00Muhyiddin Yassin's resignation as Perikatan National Chairman is not yet official,

00:05according to the coalition's election director, Sanusi Noor.

00:09Sanusi said the PN constitution required any resignation to be discussed and accepted

00:14during a meeting of the coalition's leadership, Sinar Haryan reported.

00:19Sanusi said PN was expected to hold its meeting within a week to finalize the matter.

00:25Muhyiddin stepped down as PN chairman effective January 1st,

00:28following a political upheaval in Perlis,

00:31which saw a change of Menteri Besar between PAS and Versatu.

00:35Subsequently, PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang indicated that his party was ready to take over the coalition,

00:41noting that several names, including his own, were under consideration to replace Muhyiddin.

00:47Muhyiddin met casually yesterday with PAS Vice President and Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsri Mokhtar,

00:53fueling further rumors that Samsri would become the next PN chairman.
