00:00Cleanup is underway here in Charlotte, North Carolina, where up to a foot of
00:03snow fell over the weekend from the major winter storm that affected the
00:07Carolinas due to a bomb cyclone off the coast. While we're moving snow and ice
00:11from the sidewalks and roadways, cleanup crews have been battling below freezing
00:15temperatures in the wake of the storm. But plenty of snow and ice remains and
00:19while temperatures get above freezing during the day and refreeze at night,
00:23they're making difficult driving and walking conditions while residents of
00:27Charlotte, North Carolina try to get back to normal daily life. And despite the
00:31beautiful blue sky and sunshine, it is still quite dangerous to be out
00:35walking around on the sidewalks and even driving around in some locations due to
00:40black ice that forms. A thaw and refreeze cycle will persist for several days this
00:45week as temperatures continue to drop near or below freezing at night. So that
00:49means residents of Charlotte will get to enjoy the wintry scene for several more
00:53days here. While most of the primary roadways have been cleared, there are
00:57still plenty of secondary roadways that are either partially or fully covered
01:01with snow and many vehicles that will need to be dug out. Fortunately for air
01:05travelers flying in and out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, delays and
01:09cancellations are limited and air traffic seems to be flowing very well here. It
01:13has been a long couple of weeks here for the folks of Charlotte dealing with
01:16multiple winter storms and I'm sure they cannot wait to get to summer. Reporting for
01:21AccuWeather from Charlotte, North Carolina, I'm Aaron Jajak.
