00:18The DC movies and the Harry Potter movies provided a lot of the profits for Warner Bros. over the past 25 years.
00:24Zaslav noted he'd particularly like to see more Potter films
00:28if we can do something with J.K. on Harry Potter going forward.
00:32It's worth noting that the CEO dangled the possibility of more Potter at an investors meeting
00:36for the venue suggesting it was more than just wishful thinking.
00:40Warner Bros. released eight Harry Potter films from 2001 through 2011
00:44that grossed $7.7 billion globally.
00:48It also partnered with Rowling on the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
00:51The most recent installment, Fantastic Beasts, The Secrets of Dumbledore,
00:54debuted in April and earned $405.1 million globally.
01:00It's unclear if the studio will move forward with the two planned films
01:03to round out its five-picture arc.
01:06In the years since, Potter Rowling has become a controversial figure
01:09and has been accused of transphobia.
01:11Star Daniel Radcliffe has been among those who have responded
01:14with support for the trans community in light of tweets and comments Rowling has made.
