00:00Super Bowl 60. What an absolutely spectacular event this is going to be, in my opinion.
00:09What I love about this year with these two football teams, Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots,
00:16what you have is massive storylines here. Here, let me give you a spin here first with the Seahawks here.
00:23I think Sam Darnold could change the entire landscape of how you look at quarterbacks
00:28and how you look at reclamation projects moving forward.
00:31I make this contention to you that if you look at all the $50 million quarterbacks
00:37that the National Football League has given these crazy contracts to, look how many have actually panned out.
00:44Not very many of them. Not very many have even gone to the game.
00:49Very few have even gone to a conference championship game.
00:52Then you take a look at a guy like Sam Darnold, who's making $30 million.
00:56The general manager in Minnesota just got fired because he finally, and they finally admitted that,
01:03hey, landing on J.J. McCarthy was not going to get it done.
01:07And the general manager and the analytics department, the head of their analytics department,
01:12were blown out on Friday. Why? Because of the mistakes they made at the quarterback position.
01:18J.J. McCarthy was almost on the brink of being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.
01:26And here's Sam Darnold sitting in Seattle right now, 60 minutes away from winning a Super Bowl.
01:32Ask yourself this. If you're building a football team moving forward,
01:37are you going with the elite quarterback or are you going to try to build the elite roster?
01:45What's cheaper to do? I'd rather go and find the elite quarterback because why?
01:52I could build a substandard roster like you see in Buffalo.
01:58That's one of the things that I have against Brandon being the general manager of the Buffalo Bills.
02:04These people haven't gotten off their ass in Buffalo and built a roster around Josh Allen,
02:09who played the last four games of the year with a broken foot.
02:13But there's nobody on that football team.
02:16You take a look at Seattle, what have they done?
02:19They have built a great roster around Sam Darnold.
02:24Look at the roster. Defense, offense.
02:27He can throw four interceptions in a game and still almost beat the Rams like he did at SoFi Stadium.
02:33You bring in a guy like JSN.
02:38You're good in special teams.
02:41You're phenomenal on your defense.
02:43You got a head coach who's a defensive guru in Mike McDaniel.
02:47Mike McDonald.
02:48Mike McDonald is one of the best young coaches in all of pro football.
02:52Then on the other side, how about Mike Vrabel?
02:55He can become the only coach in pro football history to have, what, a ring with a team that he won a Super Bowl with
03:06and then to be the head football coach with the same team.
03:12No player or coach has ever done that in the history of the league.
03:16I am such a New England Patriot fan of, and I love Bob Craft.
03:22Whatever you think of Bob Craft as an owner, let's look at his resume.
03:2811 times when he goes next Sunday and his team tees it up, we'll play for the Super Bowl.
03:36He did it with Parcells.
03:38He did it with Bledsoe.
03:40He did it with Belichick and Brady, obviously.
03:43And now he's in that game again with Mike Vrabel and Drake May.
