00:00Craig, you got to start it out with you, man, this Belichick stuff, man.
00:03Let me start it out here with you.
00:05I know you being the ultimate Jets fan.
00:07You may like this here.
00:08I don't know, man.
00:09What's your takeaway on what you saw this week shake out with Belichick not being a first ballot guy?
00:16Look, he's obviously a first ballot Hall of Famer.
00:19I did appreciate the couple of voters that came out and said, let me walk you through why I didn't vote for him.
00:25Some guys are more player-oriented than coach or owner-oriented.
00:29So at least I appreciated and respected those guys for putting their name to it and explaining the thought process of, hey, these three guys, Elsie Greenwood and the other two guys.
00:39Roger Craig.
00:41Yeah, Roger Craig and, of course, Kenny Anderson from the Bengals.
00:44This might be the last shot they ever have to get in.
00:46If I think those three guys are worthy of the Hall of Fame, I get the mindset.
00:50I do, and I respect it.
00:51I don't like the guys that hide behind it and say, you don't need to know who I voted for.
00:55It's not national security.
00:57Like, I'd like to know who you voted for.
00:59Not that we're going to take your vote away.
01:00You can vote for whoever you want.
01:02But it just seems a little ridiculous and almost a little MLB-ish when you have a guy that is undisputedly the greatest coach the NFL has ever had, more Super Bowls than anyone else, more Super Bowl appearances than anybody else, and on and on and on.
01:17I just don't understand how a guy like that does not get in on the first ballot.
01:21And I am one of those guys that thinks there is a difference between a first ballot Hall of Famer and a guy that gets in in any other year.
01:30Now, the Hall doesn't differentiate.
01:32Fans don't differentiate.
01:33When you go to visit, you know, the Hall of Fame, they're all there together.
01:36But I think it's special.
01:38And I think, you know, look, I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
01:41I don't personally like Bill Belichick.
01:43But I can't deny the fact that he is the greatest coach of all time.
01:47And it's kind of silly, like Major League Baseball, the guy with the most hits, home runs, doubles, triples, and runs scored, and Cy Youngs, none of those guys are in the Hall of Fame.
01:58That's a miscarriage of justice.
02:00Bill Belichick getting in next year is not a miscarriage of justice.
02:03It just pointed out the kind of the ludicrously of the rules they've created that prevents a guy from getting in.
02:11That's all.
