00:00Coach, what makes Arizona so good?
00:02You know, Coach, to me, when I watch Arizona play,
00:05you know, they look like they're using, you know, physicality,
00:10and they're a big team.
00:11Look, as you told me in the past, Coach, because you educated me on it,
00:15you have to have a backcourt if you're going to win a national title,
00:18if you're going to advance in the tournament.
00:20But the one thing that I'm seeing with Arizona,
00:23Arizona has big people.
00:25I mean, I watch them, like I said.
00:27They're just big everywhere.
00:29Are you seeing the same thing with them
00:31and why they're so dominant this year?
00:32Yeah, I think they're the best team,
00:35but the youth might hurt them a little bit.
00:38I like to have a pure point guy.
00:40I like to have two or three guys that can pass the ball.
00:44Arizona, they're really good.
00:48But I'm going to throw something in here, and I love Mike to death.
00:52He's one of my best friends, Mike Krzyzewski.
00:54But the defense right now looks like Duke's defense 15 years ago.
01:01They're terrific in defense, and they're a relative young team.
01:05I see Carlos there with his sons, and he's a great player.
01:09His other brother is really a good player.
01:11Carlos Ortiz was a terrific player himself.
01:13Duke is another team you've got to be careful of
01:18because they win in tough places, and everybody wants to beat Duke,
01:22so don't pass on them.
01:24Michigan.
01:25I didn't see the Michigan-Michigan State game last night,
01:28but Michigan is one of the best teams in the country, no question.
01:33The thing I like, jumping now back to Arizona,
01:35the coach who was at Gonzaga, remember, for 15 years, 16 years,
01:42and they're coached up quite a bit.
01:45And when you get quite a bit of talent being coached up,
01:48you're tough to play.
01:49I really like you, like them.
01:52I'm not picking them.
01:54Because of all the mixture, for example,
01:57Rick Pitino's team is starting to get going at St. John's.
02:00Why?
02:01Because they have 10 new players?
02:03That's why.
02:04And you just don't know where UConn has four veterans.
02:09See, I think that's a big difference that people aren't seeing.
02:12Why is there kind of a, yes, the great teams are still winning.
02:16Yes, there are certain names.
02:18And the teams with the most money are getting the best players.
02:20Okay, fine.
02:21But I think being a together kind of thing is incredibly important.
02:27And I don't know if we truly know yet, you know,
02:30is an Illinois going to get better than what it has been?
02:34They're good.
02:35But I'm saying, is Gonzaga going to be back in the picture?
02:39As these teams, they're taking longer to integrate.
02:42So, for us to look at, yes, for us to look at in early February,
02:46may be the end of February when we truly find out who is the, you know,
02:51the class, who are the teams that can get and win six games.
02:58Coach, 30 seconds here.
03:00Am I seeing something here with young players, Coach?
03:03You see Boozer at Duke.
03:05You see Peterson at Kansas.
03:07There's a lot of young talent in the game of college basketball right now,
03:11no?
03:12Oh, no question.
03:14I really believe that if you let these kids all grow a year,
03:18it would be back to being, you know, special.
03:22Now it's very good.
03:23But we're seeing the development, not yet the production.
03:26I'd like to see.
03:27The games are still good, except at times I go crazy with too many threes.
03:31Maybe that's because our guy in Boston, Celtics, who's doing a great job.
03:36Yeah.
03:36But shooting 43 threes is a lot for me to see.
03:40I'd like to see a little more basketball and not a shooting contest.
03:43But I think you're 100% right.
03:45I mean, there are probably 10 teams that are loaded, what we used to call,
03:50and everybody else did too, by the way, five stars.
03:53I mean, loaded with talent.
03:55Absolutely, Coach.
03:56Yep, teams that emerge through that will be able to win their conference title
04:01and then maybe go on and win a national championship.
