00:00Ladies and gentlemen, we're shortly beginning our descent into St. Marie, so if I could ask you to fasten your seatbelts. Thank you.
00:30We have a situation. Kevin, I can't help you if you don't talk to me. I just want this to be over. But I need to do it in my own time, alright? I can't be rushed, I won't be rushed. Alright, no one is rushing you.
01:00Kevin, where are you going? Kevin, please calm down, sweetheart. I'm worried about you. What are you going up there for?
01:11Anthony, are you here?
01:41I wasn't expecting to be picked up. Your secretary, Rosalie, thought it would be a good idea. I'm Leo. It's a pleasure to meet you, Commissioner.
02:11I've been spending some time in London with my daughter. But I very much have been looking forward to coming home again. And what about you? You're working at Government House?
02:29Interning. It's been four months now and I'm totally loving it. The job, the island.
02:36I didn't know we had interns.
02:38There's a new business and tourism department. George McCann heads it up. I'm not sure if you know of him.
02:51Rosalie.
02:52Commissioner, I am so sorry to bother you, but I think you need to come straight to Government House.
03:08Is he still up there?
03:12Yes.
03:18What are all these new people doing here?
03:20They're Government Advisors. Been bought in, you know, to oversee business.
03:23Business and tourism, I know.
03:26But why here?
03:28Kevin!
03:29Please!
03:30Look, come back and talk!
03:32Deborah?
03:33Thank goodness you're here. George is on his way over.
03:36This is Commissioner Patterson.
03:37I need you to phone the fire brigade and an ambulance just in case and alert my team.
03:43Right.
03:48Kevin!
03:49My name is Commissioner Patterson. Perhaps we could talk.
03:54He shut down a few minutes ago. Just stop talking.
03:57If you could, step aside.
04:08Kevin!
04:09Kevin!
04:10Kevin!
04:11Kevin!
04:12Oh no!
04:22Kevin!
04:23Oh no!
04:24No!
04:26Kevin!
04:27What's that?
04:28Kevin!
04:29Oh no!
04:30Kevin!
04:32Oh no!
04:33No!
04:34No!
04:36Oh no!
04:37Let's go!
05:08I think you should all head inside and wait for me there, please.
05:10Commissioner Paterson, George McCann, Kevin worked for me. Do we know yet why he might have...
05:15If you could just go inside and wait for the others, Mr McCann.
05:18Of course.
05:20Ah, emergency services are on their way.
05:24Paramedics are coming, and I spoke to Sergeant Fletcher at the police station.
05:28She's notifying our team.
05:30Sergeant Fletcher?
05:32Who is she?
05:38Say, is there a Sebastian Rose here?
05:52Anyone?
05:57All right.
05:58Well, I appreciate your attention.
06:09I said I am looking for a Sebastian Rose.
06:13Has anyone seen him?
06:14Yes, sir.
06:16That's me.
06:16Sebastian Rose.
06:25Except for short.
06:27Well, morning, Officer Rose.
06:29Matty Fletcher, I'm your new sergeant.
06:31It's good to meet you.
06:32Nice to meet you.
06:35So you have a fun night, then?
06:37Yeah, man.
06:38Partied hard.
06:39It was late, you know?
06:40I am sorry to poop your party, but we've got a call out.
06:43Yeah?
06:44I mean, you went duty cars, right?
06:47But wait, how did you know I was here, and how did you get your uniform?
06:51I got your home address off your file.
06:53I headed over to your house.
06:54You were up, but your mom was in.
06:55So we had a quick chat while she gave your uniform an eye on.
06:58She seems really cool.
06:59Anyway, she had told me that you'd been out at a beach party all night,
07:03which means you're either going to be at Turtle Bay or down here at Paradise Court.
07:07And if you know anything about anything about a beach party,
07:11which I kind of just assumed you did,
07:14then you're going to be at Paradise Court.
07:17So that's what I did, and here I am.
07:20That answer your question?
07:21I guess so.
07:22Good morning.
07:40Good morning, Sarge.
07:41Good morning.
07:42Matty, officially, welcome to the team.
07:45Sorry you landed the Sunday shift on your first day.
07:48But I made saffron buns.
07:51Thank you so much, Sarge.
07:54Mm, amazing.
07:58So what's your inspector learn?
08:00He's English, right?
08:01This, Harry, me old mate, is what we call the business.
08:18Good morning, sir.
08:19Good morning, Inspector.
08:23We've got a case, I'll take it.
08:27He doesn't really do greetings.
08:28Sgt. Matty Fletcher, it's great to meet you, Inspector.
08:33I was really enjoying my Sunday morning.
08:36Full English, last night's match of the day.
08:42It's his favourite TV show.
08:44He's totally obsessed with it.
08:50Officer Rose, you're on snaps.
08:52I'll card in half.
08:53What's the story here, then?
08:55Victims, Kevin Felton.
08:56Worked as a tech consultant for the business and tourism team here at Government House.
09:01Seems he took his own life.
09:03We'll need post-mortem to confirm, but paramedics say injuries are consistent with the fall.
09:11Yeah.
09:12Well, just found this in his trouser pocket.
09:15I wonder what that's for.
09:16Must be the key to the roof door.
09:19He locked himself up there, so...
09:20Commissioner, welcome back.
09:32It's good to see you both.
09:34And you, sir.
09:35We really missed you.
09:37Didn't we, Inspector?
09:38Is that the victim's bag?
09:39Yes, this is the victim's bag.
09:43There's not much in it.
09:45A mobile phone.
09:47A wallet.
09:49And an empty sweet packet.
09:51Another empty sweet packet.
09:53And a banana.
09:56Uneaten.
09:58Locked.
10:00One second.
10:01Sir, where are you?
10:03He hasn't changed then, I see.
10:06Not a bit.
10:07Appreciate it.
10:18Interesting.
10:20Notification from his bank, 326 this morning.
10:23$1,200 paid to Kariba Airlines.
10:27What time did he jump?
10:284.47.
10:30In here, in his emails.
10:33Ticket for a flight to the UK due to depart this afternoon at 5pm.
10:38So, if Kevin Felton came to this building for the sole purpose of throwing himself off it,
10:44then why, just over an hour beforehand, was he forking out for a ticket back home later this same day?
10:50You're suggesting the victim didn't take his own life?
10:54I am indeed.
10:58Which means, someone else did.
11:01I was at home asleep when Kevin phoned, was just gone half past three in the morning.
11:10He sounded drunk, upset.
11:13Said he was coming here, and that he had enough and he couldn't do this anymore.
11:17Couldn't do what anymore?
11:18He'd had a tough time lately.
11:20His girlfriend split up with him and flew back to the UK.
11:24He was stuck on the island, living alone.
11:26And what would you say his demeanour was when you got here?
11:30I mean, he was always a bit on edge, right?
11:34He was an anxious kid, bless him.
11:36A bit socially awkward, you know?
11:38But this felt more intense.
11:41Kept saying he wanted things to be over, but needed it to be done in his own time.
11:46Well, that's when he went up on the roof.
11:48And I was going to follow him up, but Deborah arrived.
11:50And Rosalie phoned me, worried, so I jumped in my car and got here as quick as I could.
11:57But next thing, Kevin locked the roof door.
12:00And that's when Deborah said I should phone you, Commissioner.
12:04This roof door key was in Kevin's pocket.
12:09You didn't have a spare you could have used to open the door.
12:12Well, there's never been another copy.
12:14People go up there to take their breaks, so we just leave it unlocked.
12:17And where were you all when you fell?
12:21I followed Commissioner Patterson up to the roof.
12:25Rosalie and I were at the bottom of the stairs.
12:28Mr. McCann?
12:29I was just pulling up in my car.
12:33Why are you asking where we all were when it happened?
12:36Why does that matter?
12:38Because we are treating Kevin Felton's death as suspicious.
12:43I'm sorry. You think...
12:45We think there is a possibility that Kevin Felton was pushed to his death.
12:53You're having a laugh, right?
12:55No. I'm not.
12:58But how, Commissioner? Because when you broke the door down, there was no one else there, so...
13:01How could someone push Kevin when he was on his own?
13:04We're working on that.
13:10We're working on that.
13:10I told George that he needed to move officers, knowing you were back.
13:40But he dragged his feet.
13:42But why are they even working in government house?
13:44It was Mr. McCann who moved them all here.
13:47I heard him say that he wanted to get away from the interfering busybodies at the main offices.
13:53Did he know?
13:59I'm also going to need your keys to the building as we're locking it down until further notice.
14:04Q.
14:06We've done door to door, but everywhere was closed when it happened, so...
14:09No witnesses.
14:11Quarter to five Sunday morning. Hardly surprising.
14:14Sergeant Fletcher, I presume?
14:17Commissioner Patterson, we met briefly when I completed my training, but I've been working back in Jamaica the last few years.
14:23Where is Officer Curtis?
14:25She's over on Montserrat, looking after her auntie.
14:28Don't think she'll be back for the foreseeable.
14:30Why didn't the Chief Commissioner contact me about this? I should be across all recruitment.
14:34Okay, this is awkward.
14:36Uh, Commissioner, I am so sorry if I was a surprise for you.
14:47Inspector?
14:48Everything all right?
14:50Er, yeah, it's fine.
14:53You sure?
14:54It's a text from my brother.
14:57We're meeting this evening.
15:00For the first time.
15:02He got in touch with you, after all.
15:05Yeah, he did.

18:55so get up and get yourself into the swing get up in the morning right
19:00morning commissioner
19:27you're good i have some interesting information on george mccann
19:36oh yeah
19:36inspector what is that
19:42it's my uh bacon and friday body
19:46i didn't get my sunday full english yesterday so treating myself
19:51what
19:53it smells
19:55of egg
19:56because they put an egg in it
19:59i don't want my car smelling of egg inspector
20:03i had dinner at the yacht club last night and put some feelers out about our suspect
20:18four months ago mr mccann was brought on board a saint marie's business and tourism leader
20:25snazzy title so why here apparently he got bored with his businesses back in the uk and fancied branching
20:34out abroad
20:35what word is he accepts backhanders for companies who are keen to get their building developments
20:41greenlit
20:43any actual evidence of this
20:44no
20:45but i trust my sources if george mccann is as corrupt as people say then
20:52it could be something to do with kevin felton's death
20:55yeah yeah well we'll definitely look into that commissioner
20:58right then i better get myself back to the station
21:01we can go together i want to stay across this case that might have happened under my own nose
21:07uh right then okay sure great
21:11inspector please don't bring that eggy smell back into my car
21:20what am i supposed to do with it
21:22put it in your other hand put it out the window
21:25all right okay all right i'm holding it out the window
21:28that's very good
21:29post-mortem confirms kevin felton's injuries were sustained by a fall
21:38cold i spoke to his girlfriend back in the uk she video called him a couple days ago
21:43said he seemed pretty clung well he would do she dumped him
21:46actually she reckoned it was to do with something else
21:50of course she did
21:51he always liked this
21:54yes
21:55apparently kevin desperately wanted to return home to england but george mccann wouldn't release him from his contract
22:04she said kevin tried but mr mccann could be quite intimidating said he didn't like disloyalty like he was kind of punishing kevin
22:13kevin have you searched the victim's apartment yet
22:16officer rose and i are going to do that straight after this
22:18uh what have you got there is that from the crime scene oh yeah so
22:22i found it on the victim just tucked under the front of his hoodie
22:28i think it's just a piece of rubbish
22:32what star song was kevin felton uh 23rd of april so
22:39taurus so if he was a taurus why does he have a sagittarian horoscope on him
22:43uh like i said son maybe it's just a piece of rubbish
22:48yeah you said but what was it doing on him in the first place
22:52i mean did it just happen to be fluttering by while he was falling to his death
22:55i don't think so
22:56anything else
22:58i'm about to head over and speak with my secretary rosalie
23:01she spent the last few months working alongside our suspects
23:04good idea sir is that it one more thing actually leo quinn george mccann's intern
23:13he's on his way into the station why because sergeant fletcher and officer
23:18rose discovered that he had a big argument with our victim
23:22just a few hours before he was murdered you wanted to talk with me
23:28so we checked kevin felton's finances and we know
23:32he drank at shades bar late saturday night
23:35that's kevin our officers also spoke to the barman and he says
23:40he saw kevin having a very heated conversation with a man matching your description and if i'm
23:46not mistaken i believe that's you there i wouldn't say it got that heated between us
23:56um i mean i can see how that appears but
23:58i can promise you it really was all chill between us
24:03oh um
24:06that's you being chill
24:11okay look leo i'm going to tell you something and i want you to listen carefully before you respond
24:16because right now you're in danger of looking like a bit of an idiot
24:19now the lip reader hasn't had a chance to examine this properly yet but when they do
24:23they'll know exactly what was being said there we were arguing about something kevin knew
24:29i had found out about my dad who's your dad george mccann
24:37he didn't want people knowing about it he didn't want people thinking he took me on just because i'm his
24:42son all right and what had kevin found out about your dad was it something about him being corrupt
24:51taking payments what kevin was threatening to reveal this
24:56is that what he was referring to when he told rosalie he wants it over kevin said dad had it coming
25:02and that's why i lost it like i did and then you followed him to government house because you're
25:09worried about what he's going to say to the police i mean that's a pretty strong motive right oh
25:16no look i was angry and i was worried i'll admit that but
25:22not so much that i'd go and kill him and i was nowhere near that roof so i couldn't have done it
25:27why kevin first can sure like his pizza i reckon he was lonely you know had no friends here just
25:38stayed in all day playing games eating pizza i mean i think about it i could get used to that you know
25:48so sarge i have to know what was it like being an office here in jamaica huh must have been full
26:00on right like some real bad man huh big island like that well kingston town definitely has a life about
26:09it you know there's always something going down you got to keep your eye out for what made you come back
26:16oh uh i don't know i it just felt like the right time i guess
26:31there's nothing in the bin he must have recently emptied that can you go check the garbage outside
26:35gotcha that's some super smart jamaican kind of thinking going on huh
26:40okay well thanks for talking with me
26:54that was leo quinn's mother angela back in the uk thought i'd see if she could tell us anything about
26:59leo and his father and her and george have been estranged a long time he wasn't really a big part
27:07of leo's life growing up so why did george end up giving him a job out here it wasn't george's choice
27:13sounds like leo always wanted to follow in his father's footsteps maybe idolized him a bit
27:20what have you got suspect's phone records and a fair bit of activity the night of the murder first
27:26leo calls george at 309 presumably to let him know that kevin was threatening to expose his corruption
27:31then george gets straight onto the blower to deborah we have a situation and again 40 minutes later i
27:38mean there's definitely something dodgy going on between them but which one pushed kevin off the roof
27:43and how they managed to do it when none of them were anywhere near him and got a scooby
27:48hang on looks like the search of kevin felton's apartment has proved fruitful
27:52here we have bag number one and you're probably thinking why i'm gonna call it bag number one
28:00that's because inside of it is bag number two we checked is the same confidential waste acts as
28:08the one that they use in the government house you're probably wondering what's inside bag number two
28:23you know you're gonna have to clean all this up obviously rose yeah i know but it was worth it
28:28okay so why did our victim take this confidential shredded waste to his house and then bin it my
28:36thinking is that kevin felton was looking for something a document that had been shredded but the
28:41fact that he then put all of this back into the rubbish bin could suggest that maybe he found what he was
28:46looking for it it's possible so then where is it if kevin felton did piece together some sort of
28:54documents what he do with it unless he had it on him when he went to government house yesterday but
29:01it wasn't about his person and all the suspects were searched before they left government house
29:06so no one took it with them then it could still be there right first thing in the morning we need
29:13to search that building
29:14let it go with the police i think they're on to you
29:30katherine meets mattie fletcher she's her new sergeant she just transferred from jamaica
29:41lovely to meet you mattie but i feel we've met before i actually grew up here in saint marie
29:50and i might have come here a couple of times when i was a teenager and you you might have kicked me out a
29:57lot of times for not being old enough i remember you and your friends would drive me crazy i am so
30:05sorry i promise i'm so much better behave now excuse me one moment
30:14hello stranger welcome home
30:26it's so good to see you i'm so happy you're back on saint marie where you belong
30:33it's not been the same without you i've missed it here and your job too
30:38i don't regret having had some time away spending it with andrina but i realized there's more i have
30:47to give to this island but maybe not the return that you quite envisaged no
30:56i've had dealings with george mccann as mayor
30:59he's what the english would call a bad egg i don't know all he's been up to
31:07yet but i know enough and the fact that he's been conducting his nefarious business
31:13in one of this island's most respected buildings it's not right
31:18i want this case solved and i want him and his team out that building this island deserve better
31:35solomon welcome come in man a little something for us to band over you'll kill devil
31:41shouldn't there have been a label on this do you think it's vintage you never get a label with a
31:48proper old stuff oh well if you say so here you go well this is a sweet little place you've got i know
32:03right came with the job and how did you end up being a detective was it always what you wanted to do
32:12well kind of i really liked um solving things when i was a kid moving around foster families and care
32:22homes there'd always be some fight breaking out or things going missing or kids running away
32:28but i'd always be the one to sort things out and put things right you know yeah you've done well man
32:35you should be proud thank you i am oh wow
32:43so uh what about you mate um what's your line of work oh you know this and that with the buying and
32:57selling but i've not really found my thing yet not like you have well finding your thing can take time
33:04can't it listen man i'm sorry things were so hectic last night but i'm glad we're doing this straight up
33:14me too me too me too call miss sal yeah so
33:30morning naomi morning sir how are you doing uh good yeah really good actually things went better
33:48with your brother last night yeah definitely i mean it was really good to have some proper time
33:54together you know and we uh we just talked a lot mostly about dawna i mean our mum yeah it was just
34:06really nice to hear what she was like as a mother you know i'm pleased for you sir
34:16so uh we've got the transcripts through from the lip reader oh right yeah and it's pretty much as leo
34:24said apart from one thing mention at one point of a title deed for a property that was being developed
34:29but kevin turns his back as soon as he says it so that's all i got i just wondered if that's the
34:36documents kevin was looking for in the confidential waste i've asked mattian said to keep an eye out
34:42when searching government house good work ah morning commissioner rosalie and i have something of use to
34:49the investigation there's a homeless guy who often sleeps in the town square outside government house
35:00his name is lloyd and i saw him there when i arrived the night it all happened
35:05so he's a possible witness we went to visit him he clearly come into some money recently he was
35:11wearing new clothes he said two nights ago he'd been given 500 to go and sleep somewhere else by a woman
35:20matching deborah shellman's description she paid him off so he wasn't there to witness whatever was
35:28about to happen that's what deborah does she makes problems disappear so as kevin was proving to be a
35:37threat to george did she make that problem disappear as well
35:44this is ridiculous i admit i gave the man a few quid a few quid you gave him 500
35:50dollars miss sheldman but only because i felt bad for him i never said he had to move somewhere else
35:55what he says you did all i said was i hope he can find somewhere more comfortable to sleep with the
36:00money i gave him he must have misunderstood and your role is well remunerated right oh we checked the
36:07company's finances you seem to get a lot of bonuses it matters to him people are loyal and he rewards them for
36:15it okay so what is your official job title miss shillman i'm george's operations manager operations
36:24manager and what does that entail exactly anything and everything but not because i think this is where
36:29you're heading pushing a man off a roof you're right that george pays me well but it's not enough for
36:35me to kill for him if there's nothing else let's see what the search is showing up
36:57george it's me the police are getting warmer much warmer
37:01there's nothing here that we could find us like a title deed or any other documents that have been
37:08shredded but the only thing of interest was this these are the ground plans for a boutique hotel
37:15development they have a swimming pool spa restaurant nice very bougie i'll get it
37:24it's just there are no details on it no architect mentioned no address name of developer and all the
37:34other projects here have those details except for this it just makes me think that there's something
37:41that there's something that's happening they're trying to hide
37:53so who was at the door earlier just some guy wanted me to move the bike was blocking him in
38:02something wrong sarge maybe
38:11that guy was distracting you so someone could sleep inside and hide while you moved the bike
38:29i knew something wasn't right you know why all right i'll check over here
38:41i knew it
38:45d.i.wilson from sergeant fletcher george mccan just broke it's a government house
38:51seen exit through the railfire escape he's in a gray convertible license number
38:55charlie zulu 217 folks to his hotel heading east along main road we'll pursue warm-up
39:01okay
39:11good morning mate you can stand down over
39:15sergeant fletcher do you receive over
39:18sergeant fletcher you can stand down now over
39:30what the hell is she doing
39:42mr mccan i need you to step out of the vehicle please
39:51sergeant fletcher you all right sergeant fletcher
39:56yeah no yeah i'm okay i'm i'm fine that really wasn't cool i was just trying not now
40:05inspector we'll do this later
40:12i think this is what kevin felton had found it's a title date but look where it's for
40:19government house no architect mentioned no address name of developer you're gonna tear it down
40:26or as good as turn it into a hotel
40:34commissioner there's a development you need to know about as i'm sure you're aware mr mccan i have
40:41a detective and two uniformed officers at your solicitor's office with a search warrant they have
40:48already uncovered further evidence confirming our suspicions all right well hit me with what you've
40:56got and i'll tell you if you're close you and your team were of the belief that the land government house
41:03sits on wasn't actually owned by the government the only title deed in existence showed it belonged to a
41:11farmer who passed away in the early 1900s with questionable maneuverings you attempted to make a
41:20land grab there was nothing questionable about it it's all within the boundaries of the law but let's
41:27not split hairs as you were a lost title deed that superseded the one you had it showed the land was
41:36legally acquired by the saint marie government in 1929 which is why you proceeded to destroy it
41:45unfortunately for you kevin felton had suspicions he retrieved the document pieced it together and worked
41:52out what you were up to that is why you murdered him before he could reveal the truth you're 99 right
42:02i admit i had big plans for that whole relic of a building would have been a gold mine
42:10and yeah maybe i played a bit fast and loose with the planning laws here so go ahead and charge me with
42:16whatever i'll let my solicitor work his magic because and you should know this he's good at that very good
42:23now let's get on to the one percent you're wrong about kevin felton's death as you know commissioner
42:31paterson me debz leo none of us were on that rooftop when it happened so how in any way could it be murder
42:45he's right all our suspects have the perfect alibi me we're farther away from solving this murder as we
42:52where we were at the start of the case
42:57what there's a man with a flamingo strapped to the back of his car
43:03yeah that's um my brother my half brother
43:06um i'll give you a little knife
43:16my man how's things it was a fine old night we had last night yeah yeah it really was we should do it
43:23again sometime soon let's keep the dialogue going yeah no question so so what are you doing here
43:29uh i uh i wanted to talk to you about something a kind of fever yeah okay i was wondering you couldn't
43:38loan me a little money just temporary like um yeah sure what is it 50 100 two thousand two thousand dollars
43:51so that's not a little that's hey the thing is there's a couple of business opportunities right
44:00for investment coming my way and i have it back to you in no time i don't think i've got that kind of
44:06money to lend i know we're brothers but hey i've only no worries man it's cool always worth to ask right
44:15is that what all this is about me and you you just needed some money what no car's not i want to do
44:28this for real i just thought
44:32i'm sorry
44:37i uh better shoot yeah
44:40i nearly forgot is it all right if i nip by your place and pick up that flamingo you've been looking
44:51after isn't that it no man that's the other one they're a matching pair that's why i have to bring
44:58this one here i'm reuniting them oh yeah i see um yeah help yourself
45:10how's it going you walk honestly
45:20i don't know i mean right now it feels like we're both coming at this
45:25brother thing from completely different directions well that doesn't mean it isn't worth sticking at him
45:31the flamingo
45:40flamingo the flamingo well that's it isn't it that's how that's how the victim could have been pushed
45:48off the rooftop without anyone being there how could someone push kevin off the roof when he was on his
45:53zone rosalie phoned me worried so i jumped in my car and i got here as quick as i could but kevin
45:59kevin locked the roof door is she still up there yes
46:05like i said sir it's probably just a piece of rubbish
46:09and that explains the horoscope the horoscope horoscope and the flamingo the horoscope and the
46:14flamingo that explains everything well almost i need to check a couple of things first the gps
46:20tracker on the car that picked you up and i need to take a look outside government house
46:33so what's he looking for
46:39i have no idea
46:41but whatever it is i think he found it
46:56this case i'll be honest it's been tough our victim falls to his death from a roof our three suspects
47:06all have solid alibis because you could all be accounted for at the time it happened the only
47:13explanation that makes sense is that kevin felton jumped to his own accord that's what we've been
47:19saying from the start it was suicide except it wasn't it was murder and we now know that it was you leo quinn who did it
47:28i was with everyone else when it happened like you said well yeah except that's not when it happened
47:37or indeed where it happened because at the point where kevin felton was heard falling onto that car
47:45it was already dead and to make it look like that's when and indeed how it happened you and your father
47:53and miss shellman constructed a very clever plan that nearly had us all fooled you see it was something
48:01i saw just this afternoon someone was transporting something on the back of their car and it got me to
48:07thinking how you could have made it look like kevin fell on that car when he didn't then i remembered
48:13this it's a horoscope it's all from a newspaper found tucked inside kevin's hoodie and that's when i
48:20started to wonder if kevin didn't fall where we thought he did mr quinn we know the night of his
48:31murder kevin told you he was going to reveal the truth about mr mccann making an illegal land grab on
48:41that building and so you phoned your father and you both headed off the government hall
48:51where kevin fooled was only no i didn't i didn't follow kevin oh but you did leo you see i checked
48:58the gps tracking on your car and it shows that you arrived at government house at 3 44 a.m and parked
49:07around the back for 26 minutes it was a big deal for kevin what he was going to do that night
49:13we know he felt intimidated by you mr mccann so calling the police revealing your corruption
49:22i think that weighed heavy on him but i need to do it in my own time right it's maybe why he went to
49:28the bar first and had a couple of drinks that evening to steal his nerves because he discovered
49:34a crime was being committed by you his boss and he wanted the truth to come out and doing so would
49:42also mean he could finally leave his lonely life here and fly back home to england feeling anxious
49:50he went up onto the roof to get some air and when rosalie went downstairs to see michelle man mr quinn
49:59you also headed up to the roof we'll never know what happened up there that night we assume you
50:06you can't do this to us pleaded with him but he refused he will destroy us to listen to you
50:12everything my father's built up his reputation who's going to prison for fraud and in the heat
50:19of the moment you ran at kevin with some force and you pushed him
50:28miss mccann i believe you arrived at government house around the same time that happened
50:35we understand you never had much involvement in your son's life so why not just let the police deal
50:41with his actions why risk getting involved yourself well we think after seeing what leo had done
50:51realizing the loyalty he'd shown in trying to protect you you decided to help him phone records show
50:58that you made your second call to me shelman that night at 4 4 in the morning to a bring her in on your
51:06plan and b to tell her to keep rosalie distracted downstairs while leo exited the roof so as
51:14instructed leo recovered the title date from kevin's back and came off the roof locking the door with
51:20the only key and taking it with him you then told leo to go and collect the commissioner from the airport
51:26as it was supposed to at 4 30 a.m while you remained in the alley with kevin's body
51:31it was four in the morning so unlikely anyone would appear but in case someone did you knew you could
51:36deal with it i mean we know you're no stranger to chucking money at a problem to make it go away
51:43and deborah you tasked rosalie with getting hold of the commissioner once he landed
51:48while you went and dealt with kevin pretending he was still alive behind the door
51:53kevin kevin when i arrived at government house with mr queen rosalie took me upstairs believing kevin
52:04was on the roof we had no reason to think you didn't follow us inside but you didn't you turned
52:12got in your car and drove round to the alley at the back of the building as the gps also proves once there
52:20you knew you had to make some kind of dent in the roof to make it look as though kevin had fallen in
52:26it i imagine you would just jump up and down on it and you and your father george mccann
52:35moved kevin's body onto the car roof remembering to put the roof doggy in his pocket unfortunately for
52:44you there were bins out back overflowing and this unassuming piece of rubbish must have been lying
52:53on the ground and as you move kevin's body got stuck under his hoodie you see it was always bugging me
53:00why this was inside kevin's clothing but if he fell at the rear of the building and not at the front
53:08then this little horoscope starts to make sense he gets out of from a piece of paper
53:15mr quinn you then drove around to the front of the building and parked the vehicle exactly where you had
53:22previously before heading inside mr mccann you also drove around to the front of the building
53:29and proceeded to create a loud bang
53:37hearing that noise from outside was leo's cue to set off his car along while you got back into your car
53:45giving the impression you just arrived it was certainly a convincing show you put on and you very
53:51nearly got away with it you tried to take from this island somewhere that stands for all that is good
53:59and right but much like myself that building isn't going anywhere george mccann stand up stand up
54:11i'm arresting you for perverting the course of justice fraud and theft and for assisting in the cover
54:24for all that is the problem of a murder
54:32Deborah Sheldman you are also on your arrest
54:56You want her to see me, Commissioner?
54:59Come.
55:04You've done some good work, Sergeant Fletcher, during this case, and you seem to have settled
55:15in well with your colleagues.
55:17But after hearing what happened this afternoon, your reckless behavior, I am concerned.
55:26I am sorry, sir.
55:28I just wanted to get us a result, and...
55:32I knew it was a stupid thing to do.
55:37How do I know it won't happen again?
55:41Because I won't let it.
55:44I just lost myself for a moment.
55:46It isn't the first time, though, is it, that you have lost yourself?
55:57Your employment file from Jamaica, and I've spoken to the Chief Commissioner.
56:02Now, so, I know what happened there before you left.
56:12That's all in the past now, sir.
56:15It's behind me.
56:17I promise you there will be no more mistakes.
56:20I'm sorry about your brother, sir, that he made things awkward for you.
56:43Maybe the Commissioner was right.
56:46The road was always going to be bumpy, so perhaps it's worth sticking with.
56:52I mean, his family, right?
56:57So, whatever curveballs are thrown...
56:59I want it to work.
57:03Anyway, serious talk over.
57:05It is officially beer o'clock.
57:07Come on.
57:13Sir, where are all your clothes?
57:16And...
57:16And the record player, and all the records.
57:22Sir, you all had a break-in.
57:25No.
57:27He's cleared the place out.
57:35He's cleared the place out.
57:45He's cleared the place out.
57:51He's cleared the place out.
58:06Couples therapy, not my cup of tea.
58:08You don't think it could be good for a relationship?
58:10Turn left! Wait! No, sorry!
58:12For God's sake, Alistair!
58:14Nah.
58:15Each of them had opportunity to kill the victim during the dinner.
58:19Except no one leaves the table for more than two to three minutes.
58:22This island petitioned to get you your job back,
58:25and you walked away like you didn't care.
58:28Solomon, you get me my things now, or I arrest you.
58:32It's your choice.
58:35Chalk and cheese.
58:42But as the boss says, they get results.
58:44Our new detective duo on the case, Lin Lee, is on BBC iPlayer now.
58:48Press red.
