00:00Ladies and gentlemen, we're shortly beginning our descent into St. Marie, so if I could ask you to fasten your seatbelts. Thank you.
00:30We have a situation. Kevin, I can't help you if you don't talk to me. I just want this to be over. But I need to do it in my own time, alright? I can't be rushed, I won't be rushed. Alright, no one is rushing you.
01:00Kevin, where are you going? Kevin, please calm down, sweetheart. I'm worried about you. What are you going up there for?
01:11Anthony, are you here?
01:41I wasn't expecting to be picked up. Your secretary, Rosalie, thought it would be a good idea. I'm Leo. It's a pleasure to meet you, Commissioner.
02:11I've been spending some time in London with my daughter. But I very much have been looking forward to coming home again. And what about you? You're working at Government House?
02:29Interning. It's been four months now and I'm totally loving it. The job, the island.
02:36I didn't know we had interns.
02:38There's a new business and tourism department. George McCann heads it up. I'm not sure if you know of him.
02:51Rosalie.
02:52Commissioner, I am so sorry to bother you, but I think you need to come straight to Government House.
03:08Is he still up there?
03:12Yes.
03:18What are all these new people doing here?
03:20They're Government Advisors. Been bought in, you know, to oversee business.
03:23Business and tourism, I know.
03:26But why here?
03:28Kevin!
03:29Please!
03:30Look, come back and talk!
03:32Deborah?
03:33Thank goodness you're here. George is on his way over.
03:36This is Commissioner Patterson.
03:37I need you to phone the fire brigade and an ambulance just in case and alert my team.
03:43Right.
03:48Kevin!
03:49My name is Commissioner Patterson. Perhaps we could talk.
03:54He shut down a few minutes ago. Just stop talking.
03:57If you could, step aside.
04:08Kevin!
04:09To be continued…
04:10Oh no!
04:11No!
04:12No!
04:13No!
04:14No!
04:15No!
04:16No!
04:17No!
04:18What the fuck?
04:22No!
04:24No!
04:25Oh no!
04:34No!
05:06I think you should all head inside and wait for me there, please.
05:10Commissioner Paterson, George McCann, Kevin worked for me. Do we know yet why he might have...
05:15If you could just go inside and wait for the others, Mr McCann.
05:18Of course.
05:20Ah, emergency services are on their way.
05:24Paramedics are coming, and I spoke to Sergeant Fletcher at the police station.
05:28She's notifying our team.
05:30Sergeant Fletcher?
05:32Who is she?
05:36Say, is there a Sebastian Rose here?
05:51Anyone?
05:56All right.
05:58Well, I appreciate your attention.
06:09I said I am looking for a Sebastian Rose.
06:13Has anyone seen him?
06:14Yes, I.
06:16That's me.
06:16Sebastian Rose.
06:25Except for short.
06:27Well, morning, Officer Rose.
06:29Matty Fletcher, I'm your new sergeant.
06:31It's good to meet you.
06:32Nice to meet you.
06:35So you have a fun night, then?
06:37Yeah, man.
06:38Partied hard.
06:39It was late, you know?
06:40I am sorry to poop your party, but we've got a call out.
06:43Yeah?
06:45I mean, when duty calls, right?
06:47But, wait.
06:48How did you know I was here, and how did you get your uniform?
06:51I got your home address off your file.
06:53I headed over to your house.
06:54You were up, but your mom was in.
06:55So we had a quick chat while she gave your uniform and I on.
06:58She seems really cool.
06:59Anyway, she had told me that you'd been out at a beach party all night.
07:03Which means you're either going to be at Turtle Bay, or down here at Paradise Cove.
07:08And if you know anything about anything about a beach party,
07:11which I kind of just assumed you did,
07:14then you're going to be at Paradise Cove.
07:17So that's what I did, and here I am.
07:20That answer your question?
07:21I guess so.
07:22Okay.
07:33Good morning.
07:40Good morning, Sarge.
07:41Good morning.
07:42Matty, officially, welcome to the team.
07:45Sorry you landed the Sunday shift on your first day.
07:48But, I made saffron buns.
07:51Thank you so much, Sarge.
07:54Mm, amazing.
07:58So what's your inspector, lad?
08:00He's English, right?
08:03This, Harry Meal, mate, is what we call the business.
08:18Good morning, sir.
08:19Good morning, Inspector.
08:23We've got a case, I'll take it.
08:27He doesn't really do greetings.
08:30Sarge and Matty Fletcher.
08:31It's great to meet you, Inspector.
08:33I was really enjoying my Sunday morning.
08:36Full English, last night's match of the day.
08:42It's his favourite TV show.
08:44He's totally obsessed with it.
08:46Mm.
08:50Officer Rose, you're on snaps.
08:52I'll card in half.
08:53What's the story here, then?
08:54Victims, Kevin Felton, worked as a tech consultant for the business and tourism team here at Government House.
09:01Seems he took his own life.
09:04We'll need post-mortem to confirm, but paramedics say injuries are consistent with the fall.
09:09Yeah.
09:11Well, just found this in his trouser pocket.
09:15I don't know what that's for.
09:16Must be the key to the roof door.
09:19He locked himself up there, so...
09:20Commissioner, welcome back.
09:32It's good to see you both.
09:34And you, sir.
09:35We really missed you.
09:37Didn't we, Inspector?
09:38Is that the victim's bag?
09:40Yes, this is the victim's bag.
09:43There's not much in it.
09:44There's a mobile phone, a wallet, and an empty sweet packet, another empty sweet packet, and a banana uneaten.
09:58Locked.
10:00One second.
10:01Sir, where are you?
10:03He hasn't changed then, I see.
10:06Not a bit.
10:07Appreciate it.
10:18Interesting.
10:20Notification from his bank, 326 this morning.
10:23$1,200 paid to Kariba Airlines.
10:27What time did he jump?
10:284.47.
10:30In here, in his emails.
10:33Ticket for a flight to the UK, due to depart this afternoon at 5pm.
10:38So, if Kevin Felton came to this building for the sole purpose of throwing himself off it,
10:44then why, just over an hour beforehand, was he forking out for a ticket back home later this same day?
10:50You're suggesting the victim didn't take his own life?
10:55I am indeed.
10:58Which means someone else did.
11:01I was at home asleep when Kevin phoned, was just gone half past three in the morning.
11:10He sounded drunk, upset, said he was coming here, and that he had enough and he couldn't do this anymore.
11:17Couldn't do what anymore?
11:18He'd had a tough time lately.
11:20His girlfriend split up with him and flew back to the UK.
11:24He was stuck on the island, living alone.
11:26And what would you say his demeanour was when you got here?
11:30I mean, he was always a bit on edge, right?
11:34He was an anxious kid, bless him.
11:36A bit socially awkward, you know?
11:38But this felt more intense.
11:41Kept saying he wanted things to be over, but needed it to be done in his own time.
11:46Well, that's when he went up on the roof.
11:48And I was going to follow him up, but Deborah arrived.
11:50Well, Rosalie phoned me, worried, so I jumped in my car and I got here as quick as I could.
11:57But next thing, Kevin locked the roof door.
12:00And that's when Deborah said I should phone you, Commissioner.
12:04This roof door key was in Kevin's pocket.
12:09You didn't have a spare you could have used to open the door.
12:12Well, there's never been another copy.
12:14People go up there to take their breaks, so we just leave it unlocked.
12:17And where were you all when you fell?
12:21I followed Commissioner Patterson up to the roof.
12:25Rosalie and I were at the bottom of the stairs.
12:28Mr. McCann?
12:29I was just pulling up in my car.
12:33Why are you asking where we all were when it happened?
12:36Why does that matter?
12:38Because we are treating Kevin Felton's death as suspicious.
12:43I'm sorry. You think...
12:45We think there is a possibility that Kevin Felton was pushed to his death.
12:53You're having a laugh, right?
12:55No. I'm not.
12:58But how, Commissioner? Because when you broke the door down, there was no one else there, so...
13:01How could someone push Kevin when he was on his own?
13:04We're working on that.
13:10We're working on that.
13:10I told George that he needed to move officers. No, he were back.
13:12I told George that he needed to move officers
13:39knowing he were back, but he dragged his feet.
13:41But why are they even working in government house?
13:44It was Mr. McCann who moved them all here.
13:47I heard him say that he wanted to get away from the interfering busybodies at the main
13:52offices.
13:53Did he know?
13:59I'm also going to need your keys to the building as we're locking it down until further notice.
14:04Q. We've done door to door, but everywhere was closed when it happened, so no witnesses.
14:10Quarter to five Sunday morning, hardly surprising.
14:13Sergeant Fletcher, I presume?
14:16Commissioner Paterson, we met briefly when I completed my training, but I've been working
14:21back in Jamaica the last few years.
14:23Where is Officer Curtis?
14:25She's over on Montserrat looking after her auntie.
14:28Don't think she'll be back for the foreseeable.
14:29Why didn't the Chief Commissioner contact me about this?
14:32I should be across all recruitment.
14:34OK, this is awkward.
14:36Commissioner, I am so sorry if I was a surprise for you.
14:42Inspector, everything all right?
14:49Uh, yeah, it's fine.
14:52You sure?
14:53It's a text from my brother.
14:56We're meeting this evening.
14:59For the first time.

19:17sing a sing-a-ling so get up and get yourself into the swing get up in the morning right
19:26morning commissioner
19:30you're good
19:31i have some interesting information on george mccann oh yeah inspector what is that
19:44it's my uh bacon and friday body i didn't get my sunday full english yesterday so treating myself
19:51what what it smells of egg because they put an egg in it i don't want my car smelling of
20:02egg inspector
20:12i had dinner at the yacht club last night and put some feelers out about our suspect
20:18four months ago mr mccann was brought on board a saint marie's business and tourism there it's nazi title
20:25so why here apparently he got bored with his businesses back in the uk and fancied branching
20:34out abroad
20:35what what word is he accepts backhanders for companies who are keen to get their building
20:40developments greenlit any actual evidence of this no but i trust my sources if george mccann
20:48is as corrupt as people say then then it could be something to do with kevin felton's death
20:54hmm yeah yeah well we'll definitely look into that commissioner right then i better get myself back to
21:00the station we can go together i want to stay across this case that might have happened under my own
21:06nose oh right then okay sure great
21:15inspector please don't bring that eggy smell back into my car what am i supposed to do with it
21:22put it in the other hand put it out the window all right okay all right i'm holding it out the
21:27window that's very good
21:33post-mortem confirms kevin felton's injuries were sustained by a fall i spoke to his girlfriend back
21:40in the uk she video called him a couple days ago said he seemed pretty glum well he would do she dumped
21:46him actually she reckoned it was to do with something else of course she did
21:52he always like this yes apparently kevin desperately wanted to return home to england but george mccann
22:01wouldn't release him from his contract couldn't negotiate something she said kevin tried but mr mccann
22:07could be quite intimidating said he didn't like this loyalty like he was kind of punishing kevin
22:14have you searched the victim's apartment yet officer rose and i going to do that straight after this
22:18uh what have you got there is that from the crime scene oh yeah so i found it on the victim just
22:24tucked under the front of his hoodie
22:28i think it's just a piece of rubbish
22:31sagittarius what star song was kevin felton
22:35uh 23rd of april so torus
22:40so if he was a taurus why does he have a sagittarian horoscope on him
22:45like i said son maybe it's just a piece of rubbish yeah you said but what was it doing on him in the
22:51first place i mean did it just happen to be fluttering by while he was falling to his death
22:55i don't think so anything else i'm about to head over and speak with my secretary rosalie
23:01she spent the last few months working alongside our suspects good idea sir is that it one more thing
23:09actually leo quinn george mccann's intern he's on his way into the station
23:15why because sergeant fletcher and officer rose discovered that he had a big argument with our
23:21victim just a few hours before he was murdered you wanted to talk with me
23:28so we checked kevin felton's finances and we know he drank at shades bar late saturday night
23:35that's kevin our officers also spoke to the barman and he says he saw kevin having a very
23:42heated conversation with a man matching your description and if i'm not mistaken i believe
23:47that's you there i wouldn't say it got that heated between us
23:56um i mean i can see how that appears but i can promise you it really was all chill between us
24:03oh um that's you being chill
24:11okay look leo i'm gonna tell you something and i want you to listen carefully before you respond
24:16because right now you're in danger of looking like a bit of an idiot now the lip reader hasn't had a
24:21chance to examine this properly yet but when they do they'll know exactly what was being said there
24:26we were arguing about something kevin knew i had found out about my dad who's your dad george mccann
24:35he didn't want people knowing about it he didn't want people thinking he took me on just because
24:42i'm his son all right and what had kevin found out about your dad was it something about him being
24:50corrupt taking payments what kevin was threatening to reveal this is that what he was referring to when
24:58he told rosalie he wants it over kevin said dad had it coming and that's why i lost it like i did and
25:07then you followed him to government house because you're worried about what he's going to say to the
25:10police i mean that's a pretty strong motive right oh no look i was angry and i was worried i'll admit that but
25:20not so much that i'd go and kill him and i was nowhere near that roof so i couldn't have done it
25:30why kevin felt and sure liked his pizza i reckon he was lonely you know had no friends here
25:38just stayed in all day playing games eating pizza
25:41i mean i think about it i could get used to that you know
25:51so sarge i have to know what was it like being an officer in jamaica huh must have been full on right
26:01like some real bad man huh big island like that
26:04well kingston town definitely has a life about it you know there's always something going down you
26:12got to keep your eye out for what made you come back oh i i don't know i it just felt like the right time
26:23i guess
26:31there's nothing in the bin he must have recently emptied that can you go check the garbage outside
26:35gotcha that's some super smart jamaican kind of thinking going on huh
26:40well thanks for talking with me
26:54that was leo quinn's mother angela back in the uk thought i'd see if she could tell us anything about
26:59leon his father and her and george have been estranged a long time he wasn't really a big part
27:07of leo's life growing up so why did george end up giving him a job out here it wasn't george's choice
27:13sounds like leo always wanted to follow in his father's footsteps maybe idolized him a bit
27:20what have you got suspect's phone records and a fair bit of activity the night of the murder first
27:26leo calls george at 309 presumably to let him know that kevin was threatening to expose his corruption
27:31then george gets straight onto the blower to deborah we have a situation
27:35and again 40 minutes later i mean there's definitely something dodgy going on between
27:40them but which one pushed kevin off the roof and how they managed to do it when none of them were
27:45anywhere near him and got a scooby hang on looks like the search of kevin felton's apartment has proved
27:52fruitful here we have bag number one and you're probably thinking why i'm gonna call it bag number one
28:00that's because inside of it is bag number two we checked is the same confidential waste acts as
28:08the one that they use in the government house you're probably wondering what's inside bag number two
28:13you know you're gonna have to clean all this up obviously rose yeah i know but it was worth it
28:28okay so why did our victim take this confidential shredded waste to his house and then bin it my
28:36thinking is that kevin felton was looking for something a document that had been shredded but the
28:41fact that he then put all of this back into the rubbish bin could suggest that maybe he found
28:46what he was looking for it's possible so then where is it if kevin felton did piece together some sort
28:54of documents what he do with it unless he had it on him when he went to government house yesterday but
29:01it wasn't about his person and all the suspects were searched before they left government house
29:06so no one took it with them then it could still be there right first thing in the morning we need
29:13to search that building
29:14let it go with the police i think they're on to you
29:34katherine meets mattie fletcher she's our new sergeant she just transferred from jamaica
29:40lovely to meet you mattie but i feel we've met before i actually grew up here in saint marie and i
29:50might have come here a couple of times when i was a teenager and you you might have kicked me out a
29:56couple of times for not being old enough i remember you and your friends would drive me crazy i am so
30:05sorry i promise i'm so much better behave now excuse me one moment
30:13hello stranger welcome home
30:26it's so good to see you i'm so happy you're back on saint marie where you belong
30:33it's not been the same without you i've missed it here and your job too
30:38i don't regret having had some time away spending it with andrina but i realized there's more i have
30:47to give to this island but maybe not the return that you quite envisaged no
30:56i've had dealings with george mccann as mayor he's what the english would call a bad egg
31:05i don't know all he's been up to yet but i know enough and the fact that he's been conducting his
31:12nefarious business in one of this island's most respected buildings it's not right
31:20i want this case solved and i want him and his team out that building this island deserve better
31:34it's not something they are not happening to them and the money has to be working with him
31:38so they are the only part of them to even consider doing the bethel
31:44should never have been a label on this do you think
31:46it's vintage you never get a label with a proper oil stuff
31:50oh well if you say so
31:51here you go well this is a sweet little place you've got i know right came with the job
32:06and how'd you end up being a detective was it always what you wanted to do
32:10well kinda i really liked um solving things when i was a kid moving around foster families
32:21and care homes there'd always be some fight breaking out or things going missing or kids
32:27running away but i'd always be the one to sort things out and put things right you know
32:32yeah you've done well man you should be proud thank you i am
32:39so uh what about you mate what's your line of work
32:54oh you know this and that with the buying and selling
32:57but i've not really found my thing yet not like you have
33:01well finding your thing can take time can't it
33:05listen man i'm sorry things were so hectic last night
33:10but i'm glad we're doing this straight up
33:14me too sol man me too
33:17call me sol yeah
33:19so
33:21morning naomi morning sir how are you doing uh good yeah really good actually things went better with your brother last night yeah definitely
33:50definitely i mean i mean it was really good to have some proper time together you know
33:55and we uh we just talked a lot mostly about dawna i mean our mum
34:03yeah it was just really nice to hear what she was like as a as a mother you know
34:10i'm pleased for you sir
34:14so
34:17uh we've got the transcript through from the lip reader
34:20oh right yeah and
34:22it's pretty much as leo said apart from one thing
34:25mention at one point of a title deed for a property that was being developed
34:29but kevin turns his back as soon as he says it so
34:32that's all i got
34:33i just wondered if that's the document kevin was looking for in the confidential waste
34:38i've
34:40asked matian said to keep an eye out when searching government house
34:43good work
34:44ah
34:46morning commissioner
34:47rosalie and i have something of use to the investigation
34:50there's a homeless guy who often sleeps in the town square outside government house
34:59his name is lloyd and i saw him there when i arrived the night it all happened
35:05so he's a possible witness
35:06we went to visit him
35:08he clearly come into some money recently he was wearing new clothes

35:38does she make that problem disappear as well
35:41this is ridiculous
35:45i admit i gave the man a few quid
35:47a few quid
35:48you gave him five hundred dollars miss shellman

36:47george it's me
36:58the police are getting warmer
37:00much warmer
37:01there's nothing here that we could find us like a title deed or any other documents that have been shredded
37:08but the only thing of interest was this
37:11these are the ground plans for a boutique hotel development
37:15they have a swimming pool

37:30no address
37:31name of developer
37:32and all the other projects here have those details
37:36except for this
37:38it just makes me think that there's something they're trying to hide
37:42so who was at the door earlier
37:54just some guy
37:56wanting me to move the bike
37:57was blocking him in
37:59something wrong sarge

39:18Sergeant Fretton, you can stand down now. Over.
39:35What the hell is she doing?
39:42Mr. McCann, I need you to step out of the vehicle, please.
39:48Sergeant Fletcher, you all right?
39:55Sergeant Fletcher.
39:57Yeah, no, yeah, I'm okay, I'm fine.
40:01That really wasn't cool.
40:03I was just trying to...
40:03Not now.
40:05Inspector!
40:07We'll do this later.
40:12I think this is what Kevin Felton had found.
40:15It's a title deed, but look where it's for.
40:19Government house.
40:21No architect mentioned, no address, name of developer.
40:25You're going to tear it down, or as good as?
40:28Turn it into a hotel?
40:34Commissioner?
40:36There's a development you need to know about.
40:38As I'm sure you're aware, Mr. McCann, I have a detective and two uniformed officers at your solicitor's office with a search warrant.
40:48They have already uncovered further evidence confirming our suspicions.
40:53All right.
40:54Well, hit me with what you've got, and I'll tell you if you're close.
40:58You and your team were of the belief that the land government house sits on wasn't actually owned by the government.
41:06The only title deed in existence showed it belonged to a farmer who passed away in the early 1900s.
41:15With questionable maneuverings, you attempted to make a land grab.
41:21There was nothing questionable about it.
41:24It was all within the boundaries of the law, but let's not split hairs, as you were.
41:29A lost title deed that superseded the one you had.
41:32It showed the land was legally acquired by the St. Marie government in 1929, which is why you proceeded to destroy it.
41:45Unfortunately for you, Kevin Felton had suspicions.
41:50He retrieved the document, pieced it together, and worked out what you were up to.
41:55That is why you murdered him before he could reveal the truth.
42:00You're 99% right.
42:03I admit I had big plans for that old relic of a building.
42:07Would have been a gold mine.
42:09And yeah, maybe I played a bit fast and loose with the planning laws here.
42:13So go ahead and charge me with whatever.
42:17I'll let my solicitor work his magic.
42:18Because, and you should know this, he's good at that.
42:22Very good.
42:23Now, let's get on to the 1% you're wrong about.
42:28Kevin Felton's death.
42:30As you know, Commissioner Patterson, me, Debs, Leo, none of us were on that rooftop when it happened.
42:36So how, in any way, could it be murder?
42:45He's right.
42:45All our suspects have the perfect alibi.
42:49Me.
42:50We're farther away from solving this murder as we were at the start of the case.
42:57What?
42:57There's a man with a flamingo strapped to the back of his mouth.
43:02Ah, yeah, that's, um, my brother.
43:06My half-brother.
43:07Um, I'll give you a little knife.
43:13Right.
43:16Brother Vien, my man.
43:18How's things?
43:19It was a fine old night we had last night.
43:21Yeah, yeah, it really was.
43:22We should do it again sometime soon.
43:25Let's keep the dialogue going, yeah?
43:26No question.
43:28So, what are you doing here?
43:30Uh, I, uh, I wanted to talk to you about something.
43:33A kind of fever.
43:34Yep, okay.
43:35I was wondering, you couldn't loan me a little money?
43:39Just temporary-like?
43:42Um, yeah, sure.
43:44So, what is it, 50, 100?
43:47Two.
43:48Thousand.
43:50Two thousand dollars.
43:54So, that's not a little, that's...
43:57Hey, the thing is, there's a couple of business opportunities right for investment coming my way,
44:02and I'll have it back to you in no time.
44:05I don't think I've got that kind of money to lend.
44:08I know, we're brothers, but...
44:10Hey!
44:10I've only...
44:11No worries, man, it's cool.
44:13Always worth to ask, right?
44:20Is that what all this is about?
44:22Me and you?
44:23You just needed some money.
44:25What?
44:26No, car's not.
44:27I want to do this, for real.
44:28I just thought...
44:30I'm sorry.
44:37I, uh, better shoot.
44:40Yeah.
44:43Nearly forgot.
44:47Is it all right if I nip by your place and pick up that flamingo you've been looking after?
44:53Isn't that it?
44:54No, man, that's the other one.
44:56They're a matching pair.
44:58That's why I have to bring this one here.
44:59I'm reuniting them.
45:00Oh, yeah, I see.
45:02Um, yeah, help yourself.
45:04How's it going, you boy?
45:17Honestly?
45:19I don't know.
45:21I mean, right now, it feels like we're both coming at this brother thing from completely different directions.
45:27Well, that doesn't mean it isn't worth sticking at him.
45:38The flamingo.
45:40Flamingo?
45:41The flamingo.
45:43Well, that's it, isn't it?
45:44That's how.
45:46That's how the victim could have been pushed off the rooftop without anyone being there.
45:50How could someone push Kevin off the roof when he was on his own?
45:54Rosalie phoned me worried, so I jumped in my car and I got here as quick as I could, but Kevin...
45:59Kevin!
46:00Locked the roof door.
46:01Is he still up there?
46:02Yes.
46:05Like I said, sir, it's probably just a piece of rubbish.
46:08And that explains the horoscope.
46:10The horoscope.
46:11The horoscope.
46:12And the flamingo.
46:13The horoscope and the flamingo, that explains everything.
46:16Well, almost.
46:18I need to check a couple of things first.
46:19The GPS tracker on the car that picked you up, and I need to take a look outside government house.
46:33So, what's he looking for?
46:38I have no idea.
46:46But whatever it is, I think he found it.
46:56This case, I'll be honest, it's been tough.
47:01Our victim falls to his death from a roof.
47:05Our three suspects all have solid alibis.
47:08Because you could all be accounted for at the time it happened.
47:13The only explanation that makes sense is that Kevin Felton jumped of his own accord.
47:18That's what we've been saying from the start.
47:20It was suicide.
47:21Except it wasn't.
47:23It was murder.
47:24And we now know that it was you, Leo Quinn, who did it.
47:28I was with everyone else when it happened, like you said.
47:32Well, yeah.
47:33Except that's not when it happened.
47:37Or indeed where it happened.
47:38Because at the point where Kevin Felton was heard falling onto that car, it was already dead.
47:46And to make it look like that's when, and indeed how it happened, you, and your father, and Miss Shellman, constructed a very clever plan that nearly had us all fooled.
47:59You see, it was something I saw just this afternoon.
48:03Someone was transporting something on the back of their car.
48:06And it got me to thinking how you could have made it look like Kevin fell on that car when he didn't.
48:12Then I remembered this.
48:14It's a horoscope.
48:16It's all from a newspaper.
48:17Found tucked inside Kevin's hoodie.
48:19And that's when I started to wonder if Kevin didn't fall where we thought he did.
48:28Mr. Quinn, we know the night of his murder.
48:32Kevin told you he was going to reveal the truth about Mr. McCann making an illegal land grab on that building.
48:42And so, you phoned your father, and you both headed off the government house, where Kevin phoned Rosalie.
48:53No, I didn't.
48:54I didn't follow Kevin.
48:56Oh, but you did, Leo.
48:57You see, I checked the GPS tracking on your car, and it shows that you arrived at government house at 3.44 a.m.
49:05and parked around the back for 26 minutes.
49:09It was a big deal for Kevin what he was going to do that night.
49:13We know he felt intimidated by you, Mr. McCann.
49:17So, calling the police, revealing your corruption, I think that weighed heavy on him.
49:24But I need to do it in my own time, all right?
49:26It's maybe why he went to the bar first and had a couple of drinks that evening.
49:31To steal his nerves, because he discovered a crime was being committed by you, his boss.
49:39And he wanted the truth to come out.
49:41And doing so would also mean he could finally leave his lonely life here and fly back home to England.
49:49Feeling anxious, he went up onto the roof to get some air.
49:52And when Rosalie went downstairs to see Michelle Mann, Mr. Quinn, you also headed up to the roof.
50:01We'll never know what happened up there that night.
50:04We assume you...
50:06You can't do this to us.
50:07...pleaded with him, but he refused...
50:10He will destroy us.
50:11...to listen to you.
50:12Everything my father's built up, his reputation.
50:15Who go to prison for fraud?
50:16And in the heat of the moment, you ran at Kevin with some force.
50:22And you pushed him.
50:28Miss McKen, I believe you arrived at Government House around the same time that happened.
50:34We understand you never had much involvement in your son's life.
50:38So, why not just let the police deal with his actions?
50:43Why risk getting involved yourself?
50:45Well, we think after seeing what Leo had done, realizing the loyalty he'd shown in trying to protect you, you decided to help him.
50:57Phone records show that you made your second call to me, Shellman, that night at 4.04 in the morning.
51:04To A, bring her in on your plan.
51:07And B, to tell her to keep Rosalie distracted downstairs while Leo exited the roof.
51:13So, as instructed, Leo recovered the title deed from Kevin's back and came off the roof, locking the door with the only key and taking it with him.
51:23You then told Leo to go and collect the commissioner from the airport as it was supposed to at 4.30am, while you remained in the alley with Kevin's body.
51:31It was 4 in the morning, so unlikely anyone would appear.
51:34But in case someone did, you knew you could deal with it.
51:37I mean, we know you're no stranger to chucking money at a problem to make it go away.
51:43And Deborah, you tasked Rosalie with getting hold of the commissioner once he landed, while you went and dealt with Kevin, pretending he was still alive behind the door.
51:54Kevin!
51:55Kevin!
51:56When I arrived at the government house with Mr. Quinn, Rosalie took me upstairs, believing Kevin was on the roof.
52:06We had no reason to think you didn't follow us inside.
52:10But you didn't.
52:11You turned, got in your car, and drove round to the alley at the back of the building.
52:17As the GPS also proves.
52:19Once there, you knew you had to make some kind of dent in the roof to make it look as though Kevin had fallen in it.
52:30I imagine you would just jump up and down on it, and you and your father, George McCann, moved Kevin's body onto the car roof, remembering to put the roof dorky in his pocket.
52:42Unfortunately for you, there were bins out back, overflowing.
52:48And this unassuming piece of rubbish must have been lying on the ground.
52:54And as you moved, Kevin's body got stuck under his hoodie.
52:58You see, it was always bugging me why this was inside Kevin's clothing.
53:02But if he fell at the rear of the building and not at the front, then this little horoscope starts to make sense.
53:11He got sold out from a piece of paper.
53:14Oh.
53:15Mr. Quinn, you then drove round to the front of the building and parked the vehicle exactly where you had previously, before heading inside.
53:25Mr. McCann, you also drove round to the front of the building and proceeded to create a loud bang.
53:32Hearing that noise from outside was Leo's cue to set off his car along.
53:43While you got back into your car, giving the impression you'd just arrived.
53:48It was certainly a convincing show you put on, and you very nearly got away with it.
53:52Mr. McCann, you tried to take from this island, somewhere that stands for all that is good and right.
54:01But, much like myself, that building isn't going anywhere.
54:08George McCann, stand up.
54:11Stand up!
54:11I'm arresting you for perverting the course of justice, fraud, and theft, and for assisting in the cover-up of a murder.
54:32Deborah Sheldman, you are also under arrest.
54:56You want her to see me, Commissioner?
54:59Come.
55:04You've done some good work, Sergeant Fletcher, during this case.
55:13And you seem to have settled in well with your colleagues.
55:17But after hearing what happened this afternoon,
55:21your reckless behavior,
55:24I am concerned.
55:26I am sorry, sir.
55:28I just wanted to get us a result, and...
55:31I know it was a stupid thing to do.
55:37How do I know it won't happen again?
55:41Because I won't let it.
55:44I just lost myself for a moment.
55:49It isn't the first time, though, is it,
55:52that you have lost yourself?
55:55Your employment file from Jamaica,
56:00and I've spoken to the Chief Commissioner.
56:04So...
56:05I know what happened there before you left.
56:12That's all in the past now, sir.
56:15It's behind me.
56:16I promise you, there will be no more mistakes.
56:25Okay.
56:27Whoa.
56:28I'm sorry about your brother, sir,
56:42that he made things awkward for you.
56:44Maybe the Commissioner was right.
56:46The world was always going to be bumpy,
56:48so perhaps it's worth sticking with.
56:49I mean, his family, right?
56:57So, whatever curveballs are thrown...
56:59I want it to work.
57:03Anyway, serious talk over.
57:06It is officially beer o'clock.
57:07Come on.
57:13Sir, where are all your clothes?
57:15Sir, you've had a break-in.
57:25No.
57:27He's cleared the place out.
