00:00In an increasingly skills-driven economy, questions are often raised about the future of young Hufas, those who memorize the Quran.
00:08Can religious education keep pace with the demands of modern employment?
00:13Malaysia's TechnoHufas program offers a compelling answer.
00:17Launched in 2017, the initiative integrates staff-based education with technical and vocational training,
00:23enabling students to pursue diploma-level studies alongside Quran memorization.
00:28Operating under the Polytechnic and Community College Education Department,
00:33the program is supported by the Higher Education Ministry and aligned with the National Tafis Education Policy 2016.
00:40The program was introduced to address a key gap, limited technical exposure among Tafis students.
00:48By offering courses in engineering and business, TechnoHufas expands career pathways while preserving religious grounding.
00:55Muhammad Luqman, a lecturer at Polytechnic Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah,
01:01said the program's focus is to cultivate both technical competence and Quran memorization to produce capable and employable graduates.
01:09He added that the program continues to make progress despite existing challenges.
01:14For students like Noor Ilham Sabrina and Noor Hanbali, mastering both disciplines means versatility and dignity.
01:44in both worlds.
02:16Hanbali expressed hope that TechnoHufas students could be given broader opportunities without being underestimated.
02:44As Malaysia strengthens its skilled workforce, programs like TechnoHufas show that faith and modern skills need not exist apart.
02:53Together, they are shaping a generation grounded in values and equipped for the future.
02:59Natasha Bust and Khadija Juno, FMT.
