01:08Hello. Can you believe it? We made it to the final episode of this season of Healthy Wealthy
01:16and wise and what a wild and wise ride it's been.
01:21Today we have a beauty to finish on.
01:25Now, you know me, of course, I'm Chrissie Swan
01:27and if you don't know me, I'm still Chrissie Swan, unfortunately.
01:32This show has been all about looking for smart, fun,
01:37practical ways to help life tick along.
01:41Any laughs, of course, have come from this man,
01:45the gorgeous Ash Wicks.
01:49Start of my own clap thing there.
01:51Let's kick off this finale in style.
01:55Our food adventurer, the inimitable Vincent Dim Sim Lim,
02:01is out among the vineyards, lucky for some,
02:04exploring how changing weather and conditions affect the taste of grapes
02:09and how the right food can make that wine sing like a bird.
02:15Let's take a look.
02:18Today I'm here in Negambi, two hours north of Melbourne,
02:21to check out Tyne Rose's winery.
02:23I'm a chef and I know food.
02:25These guys, they know wines.
02:26Let's see what their wines can do for my recipes.
02:29So Tyne Rose's have made some award-winning wines
02:32and I'm here to meet the woman behind it, Narelle King.
02:34Oh, this place smells incredible.
02:39Yeah, it's good, isn't it?
02:40So how did you get into winemaking?
02:41I'm an accountant by trade.
02:42I had a bit of a midlife crisis.
02:44Met a lovely lady, got me interested in wine
02:46and eventually I changed careers.
02:48Met my business partner, Don.
02:50We used to make wine for a Spanish company
02:51and one year when we came back,
02:53some friends suggested that we make Mediterranean grape varieties
02:56in central Victoria.
02:56We specialise in Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo.
03:01And you guys have an award-winning wine.
03:03Pinot Grigio won the best Pinot Grigio of the year
03:06for James Halliday's 2026 book.
03:08Oh, amazing. Congratulations.
03:09Yeah, it's been great.
03:13This is our 2025.
03:15It's fresh, it's citrusy.
03:17You can see some lovely fruit characters.
03:18I think I actually prefer this one.
03:19Yeah?
03:20Have you tried cooking with it?
03:21I've tried cooking and drinking next to it.
03:24I've got a recipe in mind that would be perfect for this wine.
03:27Me and Narelle are headed to Kennedy Vineyards in Heathcote
03:29where they source grapes for some of their wines.
03:33Chutes are looking really beautiful.
03:34The beginnings of these little bunches will flower
03:36first week of November.
03:38A couple of weeks later, the berries will start to form.
03:40After that, it's just the growing season.
03:41They'll get all those ripe characters in the beginning of March.
03:45So when will they be in bottles?
03:47After we pick them in March,
03:48they go through the fermentation process
03:50and they mature and barrel for probably 10 to 12 months.
03:54Oh, wow.
03:54So in the shops the following year.
03:56So if you buy a bottle of wine in 2027 in March,
04:01you'll be drinking from these grapes?
04:02Yeah, pretty much.
04:03Wow.
04:04That is a huge process.
04:06Luckily, we don't need to wait two years for my cooking.
04:08We can go get some now.
04:09Well, we've got a fire pit down by the sheds.
04:11Okay, perfect.
04:12Let's go then.
04:12Okay.
04:13I'm going to put an Asian twist on a barbecue favourite,
04:16guaranteed to win over guests at the next cook-up.
04:19Rolling.
04:19We'll just wait for that gust.
04:21We're cooking amongst the vines in the windiest day ever.
04:26Today, we're going to be making cumin lamb skewers.
04:29We've got beautiful wine here.
04:30Usually in Chinese cuisine, we actually use Shaoxing wine.
04:34I'm super excited to see how this compares.
04:36Garlic and ginger in the bowl.
04:39Just to get rid of the gaminess,
04:40add a splash of soy sauce into the mix.
04:45Tiny pinch of salt.
04:48Now we're going to add cumin.
04:49Cumin's going to further get rid of that gaminess from the lamb.
04:52Now we're going to hit it with meat velvet.
04:54This is going to tenderise...
04:55Oh, my gosh.
04:56Oh, that went in my eye.
04:58This is going to tenderise the lamb.
05:00It's so windy today.
05:01Just a little bit in there.
05:03Add a splash of oil.
05:04This is going to keep it nice and moist
05:05when you're cooking it over the fire.
05:07I've been out in the vines.
05:08We've just touched soil.
05:10So gloves to marinate.
05:13Massage it in.
05:15There shouldn't be any water down the bottom.
05:21Can we get that line to open for?
05:25Now, while I'm massaging,
05:27I'm going to slowly add the wine in.
05:29Because we're using cumin,
05:30I want to cut it with the fruity notes of the wine.
05:31So it's going to be nice and fresh.
05:33The meat velvet together with the wine,
05:35it's going to absorb all into the lamb.
05:38If you guys are skewering at home,
05:39you can use wooden, you can use metal,
05:40it doesn't matter.
05:41Go from the bottom up
05:42and skewer it straight through.
05:44Just like that.
05:46Super easy to whip out at a family barbecue.
05:51So hard to skewer.
05:53Just about that big.
05:54Whether you're in Turkey, Shanghai, Melbourne,
05:58almost every culture has a version of these.
06:01All right, these are looking pretty good
06:02and I can feel the fire heating up behind me.
06:04So let's get started grilling.
06:08Probably about three minutes on each side,
06:10depending on how hot the fire is.
06:12While the lamb's cooking,
06:14we're going to make the seasoning for the top.
06:16Chili flakes, cumin seeds,
06:18grind them up over the lamb.
06:21Dynasty five spice.
06:24Now we give it a flip.
06:25Woo!
06:26Woo-hoo!
06:28Oh, my eyeballs.
06:30Holy cow.
06:31A little bit of oil to give it that shine.
06:34Lamb on the plate.
06:35This is a balancing axe.
06:37We're going to top it off
06:38with a little bit more of that cumin and chilli.
06:40Looks good, huh?
06:41Oh, my stars.
06:41It looks amazing.
06:42I'll trade you one skewer for a glass.
06:44That's a deal.
06:44There you go.
06:45Smells fantastic.
06:47How do you do this?
06:55Oh, damn.
06:58Oh, yeah.
07:00You know what?
07:00This might actually be better than my original.
07:03I don't know if it's the scenery out here,
07:05wine in one hand,
07:06lamb skewer in another,
07:08in front of a fire.
07:09Yeah, yeah.
07:09It's great company.
07:10That's right.
07:12It's all the fresh air.
07:14Let's enjoy this.
07:15Thanks very much.
07:17Can I get a bit more minute?
07:27Doesn't that look like a nice way to spend an afternoon?
07:30Vincent, out there among the vines,
07:32proving, once again,
07:34he seems to get the best assignments on this show.
07:37Coming up,
07:38superannuation tips you can't afford to miss
07:41and how you could save thousands on home maintenance.
07:45Most of these tips are quick
07:47and won't cost you anything
07:49but could literally prevent a disaster in the future.
07:52So stick around,
07:52maybe pour yourself wine or a cup of tea.
07:55No judgment.
07:55Yeah, welcome back to Healthy, Healthy and Wise.
08:03It is time for one of my favourite parts of this whole show,
08:09a wardrobe makeover with our style queen, Chika Kiva.
08:12I love it when you come on because it just makes me happy.
08:18It makes everybody happy.
08:19Oh, thank you.
08:19Well, do you know what?
08:20This beautiful woman, Suze, who was just the most gorgeous woman,
08:24she's someone who has lost herself.
08:25She's got three kids, she lives on a farm
08:27and pretty much her whole life is about everybody else except herself.
08:31That's a lot of work
08:33and a lot of other people's needs being put ahead of hers.
08:37And when I went into her wardrobe,
08:39which I will say shocked me because it was jam-packed full,
08:41like you have never seen more stuff in your life,
08:43but she's not wearing any of it
08:45because A, it doesn't fit her
08:46or B, she doesn't know how to restyle it.
08:48And also too, if you walk into a room
08:49that's completely overwhelming,
08:51you just pick out the same thing every time.
08:53So that's what she was doing.
08:54So we had a lot of fun,
08:56sort of A, going through that,
08:57going through what she needed to get rid of
08:59and then doing a complete transformation on her,
09:02which was really, really special.
09:04And she's a good woman.
09:05I really adored her.
09:06I cannot wait for this.
09:09Let's enjoy it.
09:10Let's do it.
09:24Yoo-hoo!
09:25You must be Chika.
09:26I am.
09:27Hi, welcome.
09:28Now, I'm a bit excited about what we're doing today.
09:30Are you nervous?
09:31I am very nervous.
09:32What are we going to find?
09:33The wardrobe of doom.
09:35OK.
09:36Hi, I'm Suze.
09:37I'm a 47-year-old mum of three.
09:40Everything's just gone a bit haywire.
09:43Perimenopausal symptoms, body shape changes.
09:47It's been a bit hard to cope with.
09:49Doing this was to sort of embrace that new part of my life.
09:53Feel a bit more like myself again, I guess.
09:55You ready for this?
09:56Ready for it.
09:57Oh, my goodness me.
10:00Suze!
10:01Wow.
10:01Clearly, I'm not very good at getting rid of things.
10:03I love that your husband's shoved right down the end.
10:05He doesn't care.
10:05He wears the same thing all the time.
10:07I don't even know where to begin.
10:08But you're neat.
10:09I'll say that.
10:09OK, tell me, why are we doing this?
10:11Well, clearly, I have a lot of clothes, which means sometimes that you then can't put things
10:16together because you've got so much there.
10:18But it's just that letting go of those things that don't fit and narrowing down what does work for me.
10:23I've definitely found that when I throw on combinations I would normally do in the past, things just don't feel like they used to.
10:33So I don't know whether that's me mentally or whether that's because my physical body has changed as well.
10:37I want my clothes to make me feel confident, comfortable, obviously, is important.
10:43But just confident to just make me feel uplifted sort of thing and ready to take on the day and just make me feel a bit more like myself again, I guess.
10:52Our biggest challenge is to probably delete some of these things and then simplify it all and then put together great outfits that you can tie all back together and then layer up.
11:01If you're going out tonight for dinner with your husband, what would you pull out as your outfit?
11:05Probably a dress.
11:05What dress are we loving at the moment? That's very beautiful fabric.
11:08You can't know that one.
11:10You possibly know that one.
11:11It's beautiful, this one. This is one of my favourites too.
11:13It's something you can dress up and down.
11:15Absolutely. See, I love that you're even saying that. Colours? What are your favourite colours?
11:18I love blue. Pinks?
11:20Yep.
11:20My favourite colour's red, but I tend to find sometimes it can be a little bit harsh.
11:24Clean?
11:24It's not something I've sort of ventured into.
11:26Don't resonate with.
11:27Now, I can see you're wearing glasses.
11:28Yes.
11:28Do you always wear glasses? And do you like having fun glasses on your face?
11:32Do you like a bit of colour or are they the only ones you have?
11:34I must admit, glasses are what I put on to see. I don't, like, I like my glasses, but
11:41I don't think of it as a style accessory. But then I see people with really funky, cool
11:46glasses on and I think, ooh, maybe that could be something that I could explore to actually
11:51use them as an accessory or like as a pop of colour or something like that.
11:56These are the only ones I have. I don't tend to necessarily change up my glasses. I don't
12:01sort of think of them as an accessory necessarily.
12:02Okay. And I think wearing some colour on your face when you're wearing a beautiful dress
12:06is a really nice way, particularly if you're not wearing lots of jewellery and things like
12:09that, that adds some light and colour to your face. So would you be open to going down to
12:13Specsavers and having a look at a few new hairs?
12:14Yeah, it'd be a bit of fun. Let's just have some fun with it.
12:18That sounds like a great way to do it.
12:19Let's do that as our first port of call.
12:21Yes.
12:21And then we can work on the rest of this a bit later, but let's do the glasses first.
12:24That sounds good.
12:25Okay, perfect.
12:26All right.
12:26It's torture that we don't get to see the conclusion sooner, but it's also sort of delicious.
12:35You have to wait and it's definitely worth it.
12:37Not very good at waiting, are you? You have no choice, sadly. The wardrobe magic will be
12:44revealed a bit later on in the show. Coming up next, no dumb questions. This one is all
12:50about deception. How do you know if someone's lying to you? Telling porcupines we've brought
12:56in an expert to tell us. That is after the break. That's not a lie. Come back. You're
13:03going to want to know this stuff. See you then.
13:08This segment is brought to you by Bob Jane T-Mart's Best Tire Price Guarantee.
13:17Welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise. Now, we've all told a little tiny fib here and
13:24there, but what about the big ones? How can you tell if someone's bluffing, dodging, or
13:30just flat out lying to you? That is today's theme on No Dumb Questions. And I'm all ears
13:38because I can never tell when people are lying. Deception expert Stephen Van Aperen is the opposite
13:47of me. He knows exactly what to look for, and he's here to set us all straight.
13:56My name is Steve Van Aperen. I'm a deception detection expert and a behavioural analyst,
14:01and there are no dumb questions. Carlos M asks, how can you tell when someone is lying? Well, firstly,
14:09we need to break it down into three areas, verbal, nonverbal, and paralinguistic. I may be able to think
14:15of a lie, but can I effectively communicate that lie with believability and credibility?
14:19Secondly, I need to look at body language. We need to look for conflict or contradiction
14:24between what a person is saying and what their body language is displaying. Thirdly, paralinguistic.
14:29That is, tone, pitch, voice modulation, response, latency, ums and ahs are all important. So
14:35we can't just look at one area. We have to combine all three.
14:38L A asks, is there a body language tell when someone's not being genuine on a date? Masking,
14:45concealment, blocking behaviour. Blocking the mouth, knowing that those words were false,
14:49and touching the nose, which is a degree of releasing anxiety. Julia F asks, what's the
14:55most bizarre request you've ever received because of your vocation? I was once asked to polygraph
15:01test an employee as to whether or not he'd peed in his boss's cup. I did the polygraph test
15:08and the employee passed. Min JK asks, what's it like looking into a killer's eyes and knowing
15:16they're lying? I've worked on 89 homicide cases and two serial killer investigations. I remember
15:22interviewing one clinically diagnosed psychopath, and he had absolutely no empathy or remorse.
15:28He didn't care. In fact, he enjoyed playing games. I remember that night I went home and I had a
15:34massive headache.
15:36Lucia B asks, what are some signs that someone might be a manipulator or a cheater? Usually they'll be
15:42very secretive. They'll go outside to another room to answer text messages. They'll be very evasive,
15:49dismissive. You'll notice their behaviour will change from being upfront with you to making up
15:54little stories that don't add up. Oscar T asks, are you a good liar? Interesting question. I'm a terrible
16:01liar. I remember once I was doing a television interview with Burt Newton and he asked me a
16:05question and it was a little bit personal and I didn't want the world to know. So I lied. When I
16:09watched it back, I thought, oh my gosh, Steve, micro expressions, distress signals, blocking behaviours.
16:14I'm a terrible liar. But of course, I would say that if I had to lie.
16:19That's terrifying because even after all of that, I'm still going to believe anything
16:26I'm told. Are you a good liar? No, absolutely not. I do have a question though. How does
16:31one get a job title expert in deception? Good question. I bet you we lied to get that
16:36job. I can't remember a word that comes out of his mouth. You're the cutest thing ever.
16:43You're so proud of yourself. I know, I'm so proud of that lie.
16:45Up next, Rachel Cole with rapid fire money tips without the fine print, which is good
16:52because I can't read without my glasses.
16:54Hi, I'm Rachel, your money expert. Let's jump straight into it and talk about superannuation
16:59and how with a few small tweaks today, you could be hundreds of thousands of dollars better
17:03off by retirement. Now, as with everything finance related, the following is general in
17:07nature and you should consult an expert for advice on your particular situation. Now, superannuation
17:11is one of the most powerful tools we have to set ourselves up financially. But for most
17:16Australians, we get our first account when we're 18, we start working, the employer puts
17:20in 12% and we kind of just forget about it. And we get access to that money again when we
17:24turn 60. Now, statistically, it's likely an industry fund and likely a low cost balanced
17:28fund because that's the default in Australia. Now, your super fund is the group responsible
17:32for investing your money. And we have choice over who manages that money. But we also have
17:36choice over how that money is invested. Now, a balanced portfolio, which is appropriate for
17:41someone in middle life that wants to take on moderate risk, will deliver you a 6% to 7% return
17:44over time because it's part shares and part cash. But it may be more appropriate for someone with
17:48more time on their side to be in a high growth fund, which will deliver that sort of 8% to 9% return
17:53over time if we've got time in the market to ride out the associated risk. Now, a 2% return
17:58differential over time doesn't sound like a lot, but that's hundreds of thousands of dollars of
18:02difference over time. Now, if you're under 50, your biggest asset is time and we want those great
18:07returns to compound over the long term. If you're over 50, it's a great idea to see a financial planner
18:13and consider your transition to retirement and maybe making catch up contributions if that's
18:17appropriate for you. One in five Australians also have multiple super accounts, which means you're
18:21paying fees in lots of different places. And many of us don't even know those accounts exist.
18:25In fact, there's $17 billion of lost superannuation in Australia,
18:29so you need to check on MyGov or the ATO website if some of that's yours.
18:33Remember, your superannuation is for retirement. We just want it working as hard for us as possible.
18:38Still to come on Healthy, Wealthy and Wise, we dim the lights, settle the jitters and bring back,
18:43you guessed it, the Box of Deb. This week's victim is superstar fashion icon Nadia Bartel.
18:51For you, anything. I wonder what she'll choose. Find out just after the break.
19:03Welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise. It is time to head underground with our good friends
19:10at the Drain Man. Their relining crew, that's right, relining, tackles blockages like tree roots
19:18without tearing up your whole backyard. And the fun twist, the entire relining crew at the Drain Man
19:26are actually ladies. They're females. They're drain ladies. I like drain ladies. Let's meet them.
19:33As a plumber by trade for 10 years, I have seen a lot of cracked pipes in my time that can cause
19:44excessive water damage and drainage problems. If not fixed correctly, this can be a costly experience
19:51and also tear up your entire backyard. What if I told you there was a way that would save you money,
19:56be better for the environment and you don't have to tear up your whole backyard? Let's go have a look.
20:03Hello, hello. Firstly, can I say I'm so stoked to see you out there. As a fellow tradeswoman,
20:10do you get looks when you rock up on site? Yeah, we do sometimes. They do get a shock when there's
20:15a woman out there. Now, I'm excited to get into it. Can I help with this? Yeah.
20:21Can you explain what relining is? There's a lot of drains out there that has tree roots growing
20:27through it. Relining is when we kind of insert the miners through the drain. Basically, you've got,
20:32you cracked pipe and you come in, create a resin sleeve inside. So, it's a pipe on the outside and
20:38then another pipe on the inside. So, this is where we're putting the resin in. Once it's cured, it just
20:43looks like a brand new PVC pipe. Yeah. So, it kind of just blends into the existing pipe. Basically,
20:50the girls whack the resin in there, then this bladder goes in and it expands. Bob's your uncle.
20:56Yeah, pretty much. So, Rosie, once you create the resin, time is money, isn't it? Well, if we don't get
21:03it in time, it cures on the spot. Then what happens? Drilling works. Pretty much drilling works.
21:11Relining saves you from the expensive process of ripping up the ground and replacing pipes.
21:16But it's a precise job that has to happen in just a few minutes. Alright, we're using ultra-fast resin.
21:22We only have 10 minutes before it sets. So, we need to get the resin in, get it down there or else
21:28the job is ruined. We're done. Dusted. The girls have the new lining prepped and another operator is
21:34waiting further along the pipe, ready to help guide it into position. Alright, it's go time. We're going to mix
21:41in this and then the clock is ticking. Ready? And go! So, we're mixing up the resin now. Looks like a nice
21:51caramel sauce. Stuff like that's so satisfying.
22:00So, they're just wetting it now, making sure it gets an even layer. Time is ticking.
22:05They're putting the tape on, then once they get the air compressor on and inflate it, the tape will
22:13break off, turn into a nice beautiful pipe. We're on 3 minutes 44. So, now they're just positioning it,
22:21making sure it's in the exact right spot before it hardens. Alright, give me a slack, please. Bit of slack,
22:27please. You got slack. Tell them to hold tension, real tight tension. Hold your tension there,
22:33please, Greg. Really tight. Alright, going up. Don't let it bounce back. Yeah, holding tight. Going up.
22:42The tape's just popped. Yep, tell them to keep holding it. Alright, just keep holding your tight
22:49tension. So, we just hit eight minutes, literally two minutes left. It's quite a stressful thing.
22:54We are. We good. All good, Greg.
23:02The operator just confirmed it's in. It's done. We got it with a minute 30 to spare. We did it. When I say
23:08we, I mean the girls did it.
23:15We just finished the job. The girls absolutely smashed it out. And I was just talking to the
23:19homeowner and he said if he didn't do the relining, he would have had to rip up his shed,
23:24rip up the concrete and it would have cost him an absolute fortune.
23:30Once a pipe is damaged, it needs to be relined or replaced. So, how can you prevent it from getting
23:35to that stage? It's all about being proactive and there are some measures you can take to get on top
23:42of it. These are warning signs and some of those warning signs are frequently blocked toilets,
23:48slow draining water, bad smells, that gurgle noise and also tree roots. It's all about being proactive,
23:56but it doesn't end with what you do in your house. What you do in your garden as well has a huge impact.
24:04Now, let's talk landscaping and future proofing your pipes. The trees you plant have a huge impact.
24:12Some trees with more aggressive roots that might ruin your pipes in the long run are things like
24:17willow trees, fig trees and aspens. Some alternatives are your frangipanis, your ornamental pears,
24:25your bottle brush, native shrubs. They're less likely to damage your pipes.
24:32With hotter summers and heavier rainfall, climate change is literally shaping the ground beneath us.
24:38The ground shifts, pipes crack, roots come in and that's when you need to call the girls out from
24:43Drainman. Now, don't underestimate basic drain care. Avoid flushing your wipes, know your pipe layout and
24:52plant those pesky trees about six to eight metres away from your pipes. If you keep your drains happy,
24:58then they'll keep you happy.
25:03That is very cool. I actually don't need anything relined, but I might make up a problem just to get
25:08those girls over to my place. You know what time it is now? Yes, it is the part of the show where things
25:15get a little creepy crawly and a little bit uncomfortable. It's the box of death.
25:20And tonight's guest has built a fashion label out of sleek minimalism and pure class,
25:32but don't let that fool you. She's anything but minimal. I felt like I was going to say she's
25:38anything but classy. Say hello to my friend Nadia Bartel. You are a very, very brave girl to take a
25:46phone call from me that says, don't worry about anything, just turn up. For you, anything.
25:50You're very sweet. Now, normally we would just have a gas bag, find out, you know, what's cooking
25:55with you. But this is not that sort of interview. Okay. You are going to make a choice in the next
26:0360 seconds. You're going to hold something, it's going to have a pulse, and two of them are standing
26:10behind you right now. Nadia Bartel, please choose between Lara and olive python. Okay. We love olives,
26:18Nadia, we love olives. I love olives. A little bit warm, delicious. Yeah. All right. And Mike here,
26:23he's holding Henrietta. She is a golden huntsman. I hate spiders. Everybody hates spiders. You can see
26:31those choices. You can go with one that you know, or you can pick what's in the box of death.
26:40I was just thinking though, maybe that like, I don't mind that maybe that's like a mouse or
26:46rat. Well, that's the thing. Which I would die. Oh, is that worse? Oh yeah. A mouse or a rat,
26:52a rodent is worse. Yeah. That is so interesting. You've got a tough decision ahead of you whether to
26:58risk it or go with the known quantity. When we come back, we're going to find out what the outcome is.
27:04Is it a mouse? Is it a snake? Is it Nadia losing her mind? Hopefully the latter. See you soon.
27:14This segment is brought to you by the Amy driving test. Lucky you're with Amy.
27:22Welcome back. This is Healthy, Wealthy and Wise, where we are joined by the magnificent Nadia Bartel.
27:29I've given you a very, very tough choice to make here. You've got to choose between a snake,
27:34a spider, not great, and whatever is in the box of death.
27:40There is a part of you that wants to do that because like, that's pretty exciting.
27:49I'm normally a risk taker, but I just can't risk it. I'm going to go the snake. You're going to go
27:55the snake? Snake. All right. Now, do not worry. You're in very, very safe hands. Do you respond
28:02well to praise and enthusiasm and support? No, I don't really need that. Oh, well that's a shame,
28:07because I've organised a special cheerleader for you. Hi. Hi.
28:13Start now, because Nadia's scared. Come on, Nadia. You've got this. I'm going to drag
28:18it around your shoulders. Do you have any hips? Okay. Yeah. So, it's a lovely Melbourne scarf.
28:25And you get that beautiful body on your shoulders. Oh, oh, it's like sliding off me. It's sliding off me.
28:31No, she's fine. She's just on your shoulders. Look how relaxed she is, guys. I'm fine. All right.
28:36Let's start the clock. By the way, of course, the snake matches Nadia. How beautiful. Like,
28:44who does that? We first came to know you when you were a lifestyle blogger with the Chronicles
28:49of Nadia. At that time, I remember you said that your car was overflowing with makeup. Oh,
28:53really? And I've always wanted to know, is that because you love the lighting in the car? Oh,
29:00it's the best. It's the best. Yeah. Makes your skin look flawless. Do you also like to pluck a
29:04whisker or two in that? Come on. I'm Italian. What do you think? That says it all, doesn't it?
29:12You've co-founded your gorgeous fashion label, Henny, with your sister, Michelle.
29:16When you disagree on designs, do you see who can run down the hallway quickest to dob to your mum?
29:21Oh, it's definitely Michelle. Really? She calls dad. Always. Really? Yeah. She does it
29:27around the dinner table. We always do dinner at mum's on Mondays. Oh my gosh. And then she'll just,
29:31yeah. I bet you that's feisty. If I had told you. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
29:38Oh, no, no, no, no. Your fine lines campaign, the bra. Oh, yes.
29:42It was everywhere. I was in the city. You glided past me on the side of a tram and I said out loud,
29:48I'm not ashamed to say, Jesus, that is an amazing set of buzies. When you first saw the photos,
29:55did you go, whoa. Not really. Really? I wasn't that happy with it. Poor dad. He had to see the,
30:01there was a tram out the front of his house that just had my boobs in front of it every single day.
30:07It's terrible. I just thought your hair was the snake's head and I was going to go,
30:12wow, wow, wow. Ladies and gentlemen, that is Nadia Bartel. Thank you so much for your time tonight.
30:22Still Saturday night. Your hair's done. You can hit the dance floor, my girl. Exactly. Next up,
30:28Amy Stanton is on hand with the little fixes and clever tricks that can save you big headaches at home.
30:35Today, I want to show you some super useful home maintenance tips that could save you a ton of
30:42trouble. Now, I'm a tradie at heart and also expecting another little one on the way. So I'm
30:48all about safe, easy and simple. We've got four tips for you that could prevent a disaster like a fire
30:55or flood. Let's get into it. Tip number one, check your flexi hoses. They're a common cause for water
31:05damage. We're talking one in 10 insurance claims are caused by burst flexi hoses. Let's have a look
31:12at these ones. Lucky for the homeowner, these are in perfect nick. These ones, not so good. If yours
31:23is starting to look like this, it may turn into this. We even suggest getting them replaced every
31:28five to 10 years, even if they look all right. Extra tip, if you're going away on holidays,
31:36turn your water off at the mains. A burst hose can fill a pool in a day.
31:42Tip number two, let's talk lithium ion batteries and fire safety. Now, these batteries are found in
31:48everything from your phone, to your laptop, to even your power tool chargers. Always use a proper
31:55charger and cord, not the dodgy ones, and then charge your things on hard surfaces, not your couch
32:02or your bed. Now, I know we've all done it, but don't overload your power boards. This one's starting
32:09to look like an octopus and can catch fire real quick. Don't forget to check your fire alarms. Don't
32:18wait for the beep. Check the batteries at least once a year. Tip three, clean your gutters. Now,
32:27I know cleaning your gutters isn't the most glamorous task, but it has to be done. Preferably,
32:32we say about twice a year. Why? Water damage is the number one thing. If these leaves build up
32:39and water gets back into your ceiling, it can cause a lot of mould and water damage.
32:44Then, another reason, bushfire season. These leaves are the perfect fuel for embers.
32:53An ember from a bushfire or even your neighbour's fireplace can land in here and ignite your whole
32:59house. Not good. Tip number four, give your hot water unit some TLC. Now, if you have a hottie like
33:06this one, it's got a little gizmo on it called the pressure relief valve. And basically what that does,
33:12it's stopped your unit from overheating and exploding like a pressure cooker. And all we
33:18have to do is test it once every six months. Now, all we have to do to test it is pull this little lever
33:24for about five seconds and water should gush out the bottom. If water gushes out, we're all good.
33:32If it doesn't, you may need to call your local plumber and get this bad boy replaced.
33:36Most of these tips are quick and won't cost you anything, but could literally prevent a disaster
33:45in the future. So get on it now before it costs you way more time and money.
33:49Very interesting. But that whole time I was thinking if we get another season,
33:56it's going to be a baby. It's going to be two people there.
33:59Hey guys, Amy here. Now, you might have been following my pregnancy journey from all the way
34:04back on episode one where Chrissy asked me if I'd swallowed a goat.
34:08Just a few too many beers, no.
34:11But I would like to announce the safe arrival of our beautiful girl, Darcy Violet. She came so quickly,
34:19not long after we finished filming actually. And we got to the car park and she was literally born
34:25seven minutes later. And we were basically back home working in the garden a few hours after that.
34:31So all is well here. We can't wait for our next healthy, wealthy and wise adventure.
34:36It's pretty exciting. After the break, we are heading back to Bendigo.
34:41It's Sousa's big moment to shine as Chica brings her makeover to life. Trust me, do not miss this reveal.
34:52Oh, my goodness me. It's gorgeous. See you soon.
35:00Healthy, wealthy and wise is brought to you by Specsavers.
35:05Yay, welcome back to healthy, wealthy and wise. Great to see you. We have been hanging out
35:11for this reveal from the very beginning of this episode. It's Sousa's big wardrobe reset. Now,
35:18Chica, you have spent some serious time with her. This has been like a top to tail overhaul.
35:26And it was amazing. I mean, you even changed up her glasses. I know, which really made a huge difference.
35:31Where were you when I thought those little round John Lennon ones were a good idea on this giant head?
35:36I was probably with Sousa. Oh, playing favourites now, are we? Sorry.
35:40I'll see you in your best friend.
35:46Are you ready for this for Specsavers? It's going to be fun. We're going to get you some new frames and
35:50we're going to just try on some different shapes and see what works for you. That sounds good.
35:54Colour, shape, the whole thing. So the VIP service is waiting for us.
35:57All right, let's do it. Let's do it. I'm excited for you.
36:07So Sousa, how long have you been wearing glasses for?
36:09Since I was in year seven, basically full time.
36:12Well, I'm loving all these different colours and shapes. And I feel like what we need to do is just
36:16try on a variety of things and just see what works with your colouring and your hair and what you do
36:20and don't like. Look, I'm loving this blue. I do like blue. I like that. I think they're really strong.
36:25Have a little look in the mirror and see what you think. And I like the colour. I think they
36:28work beautifully. Something a bit brighter and a bit fun.
36:31Now, I'm a little bit obsessed with all kinds of caramel.
36:33Okay, let's try that.
36:37No, they're not for you. No, they're very much too big on my face.
36:39You think so? Yeah, no, they're definitely not for you. They're not the right colour at all.
36:43That's also quite a pretty colour, these sort of tortoiseshell ones. I think that'd be gorgeous.
36:47And with the gold through it, it will also lighten up your face. Yes. I like those a lot, actually.
36:52I think we probably need to get some professional help now because we could do this.
36:55I could do this all day. Absolutely.
36:59Hello, how are you? My name's Irene. I'm just here to give you some frame styling advice if
37:03you need that today. So we're trying to get Suze a couple of pairs of new glasses. We're
37:07upgrading her wardrobe. And these are a couple that we tried on that we loved, just the colouring of
37:11more than the shape. So we've got some good selections here. Are you more interested in a
37:15designer brand that probably has a bit more flair? So this frame here will probably suit your features a
37:20bit more. So it's just a darker frame. It still has a tortoiseshell. Oh, I like them a lot.
37:25They definitely feel nice on my face too. And again, that's the kind of glasses you can have
37:29trans-seasonally. Yes. You know, winter, summer, they will look beautiful. Great for the weekend
37:34sport, but going out for dinner. What's the general rule when it comes to glasses and shape for face and
37:39all the rest of it? With an oval face, we tend to do softer round ones, draw the attention to the chin a
37:44little bit more. We also have a face shape that's like our heart. So for those type of frames, we want to be looking at
37:49the ones that draw away the attention from the chin. Then we also have a face shape that is
37:54just a round face. So we're looking at more rectangular frames. Okay, well, let's see some other examples.
38:06Yep, they're perfect, look beautiful. Let's pop those through. No worries, I'll put them through now.
38:11Thank you. With Suzie's stylish specs sorted, it was time to head to Blue Illusion to complete
38:18her new look. Are you excited? I am a little bit nervous. What are you nervous about?
38:23Very overwhelming. I promise you we're going to have so much fun. We're going to rediscover
38:27who Suzie is again. And I also have your new glasses from Specsavers. Let's go shopping.
38:31Let's do this. Meet my friend Donna, who owns Blue Illusion. Welcome. Nice to see you.
38:37To Blue Illusion Bendigo. What she is needing is a new look. We've kind of lost ourselves a little
38:42bit along the way. We love colour. We want to try on some dresses, some new shapes. And I think that's
38:46what we're going to try and do is discover who you are now at this age and stage in life.
38:49That sounds lovely. Oh, I think we can play dress-ups now. I think we can.
38:56Is there anything that's jumping out here for you? I quite like the green. It's not something I'd
38:59normally wear. Beautiful. I love this one. Look at the colour on you. I know.
39:06Put on the green. How gorgeous. The green, the green. I'm not sure though if you don't need a
39:11longer dress. Down to about here is going to be more flattering. 100%. You need more length.
39:15When you're a bit taller, I think it does cut you off. Yes, it does cut you off. And that's quite
39:18beautiful too. This is beautiful too. You know what? It doesn't hurt to try them all on. See how much
39:22nicer that looks being that longer. Sometimes you have days where you want to show off a waist and sometimes
39:27there are days where you just don't. Cinch it in. Yeah. You see, it just gives you some shape.
39:31And I like these with this dress because they're a little bit lighter. Gorgeous. Okay. Absolutely gorgeous.
39:42What about over here? The tunics. Yes. They are lovely. With the great linen pants. I do like natural
39:47fibers, yeah. Especially for women who are going through menopause. Particularly at the moment when my
39:52body's doing all sorts of fun things. Oh, look at you. So this is an outfit you'll definitely wear?
39:59Yeah, definitely. These pants can go back with so many tops. Yeah, absolutely. So it's the base.
40:04We've got a great linen suit over here. I love this colour. I'm loving these pants. It's a great casual.
40:11You can wear with a sneaker or with a sandal. With a heel. Beautiful white shirt,
40:15elasticated arms, a couple of scarves to try with it and some jewellery. Are you loving yourself sick? I am.
40:20This is beautiful. See, look how great you look. Yes. The length is great. Do you think?
40:25I think a scarf would look gorgeous with that. It'd make me look like I know what I'm doing.
40:28Yeah, exactly. You look amazing. Let's take that off and get you into hair and makeup.
40:37Now the fun begins. Suze, how are you going in there? We've got your friend Jen here. She's
40:43ready to see the great reveal as well. Are you ready to come out and show us your new look? I am indeed. Come on out.
40:50Oh my goodness me. Look at you. Are you shocked? Yeah. Oh, I love you.
41:01You look absolutely beautiful, sophisticated, growing up. And it was easy to throw on.
41:06Yeah, exactly. So Suze, I think we've found you again. I know. Look out. You weren't improved.
41:11Exactly. Ready to take on the world. Your kids are not going to recognise you when you're
41:13walking the world tonight. No, they won't. I love it. Are you happy? Yeah, I really love it.
41:17You don't have to wear it all together. You can break it up and you can have fun with it.
41:20And a few pieces in, a few pieces out. Oh, I love that you said that.
41:23Yes. Champagne time. Donna, I think this is the perfect timing.
41:26Thank you, Donna. I think she looks perfect. She's absolutely stunning.
41:30Well, here's to you and here's to your new look. And thank you to Blue Illusion and Specsavers.
41:34Yes, exactly. Good girl. Well done. Well, happy shopping. Thank you so much.
41:39It's been a pleasure. It has been lovely. Suze, it's been so lovely.
41:42Thank you. Thank you so much for everything. Enjoy. Have fun. Thank you. Bye, ladies. Let's go.
41:51Chica, you have outdone yourself. She looks like a different person. Not only looks like it,
41:58she's emanating a completely different energy. She carried herself in a totally different way. It was
42:03almost like as soon as she had her hair and makeup done, her new glasses and a great outfit,
42:07she just was standing taller. I can't think of a better or more fitting way to finish our first
42:14season of Healthy Wealthy and Wise. I know. Can you believe that? It has been absolutely the
42:19most incredible experience for myself too. And I have loved every woman that I have met.
42:23I have loved every makeover. It's just been so much fun. That is it from all of us here at Healthy Wealthy
42:31and Wise. Thank you so much for joining us. We have had a ball with you. We hope you've learnt
42:40something. Taken a little nugget with you. Learn how to save some money. Maybe you're moving more.
42:45Maybe you know how to cook something delicious. Job done. Until next time, relax. You've done enough
42:52for one day. Good night and thank you again so much.
