00:30chicken. My wok style fish and chips. Unforgettable guests. Oh in your eyes. Hey Chrissy this doesn't feel
00:38healthy wealthy or was. Hey look relaxed you're on national television show. And your chance to win the
00:46trip of a lifetime. And it's my mission to find as many ways to relax as possible and I
00:51take my job very seriously. You never know what you're gonna get. But what you get you'll never forget.
00:59Oh my god.
01:01Hello and welcome to Healthy, Healthy and Wise. The show where we find smart, fun and practical ways to make life run just a little bit smoother. And give my researcher Ash Wicks yet another reason to make life run just a little bit smoother.
01:31And to deeply regret agreeing to work with me. Today we are heading out on the high seas with Princess Cruises.
01:39Taking on the tough job of exploring life on board. What a dream. And believe it or not the lucky soul who scored that gig is this guy.
01:52Me? Yes. What do you mean? Am I going on a cruise? Yeah. Right now I'm serious. Yes. Go. Scoot. I'm taking this.
02:01To say leave the money behind. Oh god who cares. Alright what could possibly go wrong? We're about to find out. Let's see how our adventurous cruiser goes.
02:11Well that was a surprise. But I'm never one to shy away from a challenge. If Chrissie needs someone to explore this ship from top to bottom then I'm all aboard. Let's go.
02:22Crown Princess is going all the way around Australia over 28 days. But I'm just here for two nights. Sydney to Brisbane. Plenty of time to put together a full report for Chrissie. Spilling the tea on what luxury cruising is really all about.
02:37Someone's waving. Is that Chrissie? See you Chrissie? Chrissie! Oh that's not her. I'll do you proud I promise.
02:50The Crown Princess is about three footy fields long and has 19 decks. I need to get my bearings so my first stop is to chat with the captain.
02:58I'm looking for who's in charge. Please join me on the chair.
03:04So currently we are going from Sydney to Brisbane. Where else do you go?
03:08When we leave Brisbane we're doing an Australian circumnavigation. But our other itineraries we're pretty much all over the world.
03:14We have ships based in the Caribbean, in the Mediterranean and based out of the UK. Going all around Europe and up and down the east and west coast of the States.
03:22And we also have a ship that goes to Antarctica. So pretty much worldwide.
03:27Here's a question for you. What's the most unexpected thing you've ever seen from the bridge?
03:31A submarine periscope.
03:33No way. 100%.
03:35Do you know where the submarine was from or anything?
03:37No we can just see the periscope but it was following us for quite a while.
03:41What does that mean?
03:43I've no idea. But no we're just moving too quickly so it's obviously not too serious.
03:50I am fueled with the captain's knowledge of this ship. My mission is to see how luxury looks on the high seas. And I take my job very seriously.
03:59It's thirsty work all this research. Might get a drink.
04:04Ah, well this place has drinks sorted. Now who do I talk to about food around here?
04:25Marius, Ash. How are you?
04:27I'm starving actually. We are in the right place.
04:29How much food do you have to carry to feed all of the guests?
04:32Normally we do loading every 14 days. On the last one we load over 200 tons of food.
04:37Tons?
04:38Tons.
04:39Oh my goodness. I'm always carb loading. I love bread. How do I make sure you're not going to run out of it?
04:43We always make bread from scratch.
04:45Really?
04:46We make everything on board.
04:47Alright, you've made me extra hungry. Do you have a table for me?
04:50Absolutely.
04:51When it comes to food, I know luxury comes in many flavours. So I figured, why not try them all?
04:57Sweet.
04:58Hello sir, good evening. Welcome to the Crown Wheel.
04:59May I take your order?
05:00Yes, I'm here doing research for my close and personal friend, Chrissie Spohn.
05:04Yes.
05:05Can I just get one of everything please?
05:06Why not sir?
05:07Delicious.
05:08Yes, that's definitely everything. First things first. Oh my God. Marios did say they bake all their bread fresh here. I believe him. How good's a bacon be it? Let's be honest. Whoa. I've never had lobster before. I'd like a big prawn. Took zero effort to cut through.
05:14Mmm. Alright, it's dessert. I'm going to test everything. I'm going, oh my God it cracked.
05:20Cheers. Cheers.
05:21Cheers.
05:22Mmm.
05:23Mmm.
05:24Mmm.
05:25Mmm.
05:26Mmm.
05:27Pound of all that food.
05:28Pound of all that food.
05:30Time to check out the night life.
05:31It's time to check out the night life.
05:32I'm...
05:34Oh my God.
05:41everything. I'm going, oh my god, it cracked. Cheers.
05:54Pound of all that food. It's time to check out the nightlife.
06:11I've had a swim, I'm well fed, a couple of cocktails, a few other activities. Pretty
06:21luxurious, I'd say. Time to take a well-earned break before continuing my intense research
06:26for Chrissy tomorrow. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to do what dads do best and fall
06:32asleep in front of this big TV. Oh, that makes me so jealous. Are you happy that I recommended
06:44you for that job? That looks so fun. Chrissy, I can't thank you enough. I got to go on a
06:49holiday without my kids. So it was a holiday on holiday. And I can see you've taken advantage
06:55of the drinks package. Yeah, bring a heap home with me. Only the best for my boy. Coming
07:00up, we're going to see how Ash's ocean adventure wrapped up. It's like so much fun. And later,
07:05information overload Adam and Rachel with fast facts. And that's what we call the loyalty
07:09tax. And then Joel Creasy is in the building for the box of death. I'm feeling in safe hands,
07:15real safe hands.
07:20Welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise. We are halfway through Ash's surprise high-sea
07:27adventure. And it's not even his birthday. You still happy, Ash?
07:32Over the moon, Chrissy. Free ride on a floating city. What could be better? And my favourite
07:38part...
07:38No, don't spoil it. We're about to watch it all unfold. Let's do it now.
07:44Nothing like sleeping on the waves, especially on someone else's diet.
08:02I'm into my second day of researching what luxury cruising is all about. With so much
08:07to see and do, I thought it's best to catch up with someone in the know. The activities director.
08:22Hey, mate, Ash.
08:23Hello, hello.
08:24Now, Chrissy has tasked me to find out everything there is to do on this ship.
08:28And I have to report back to her.
08:30My role here on the ship is taking care of more than 100 activities that we are having
08:34running every single day.
08:35Wow. 100?
08:36Yes, more than 100.
08:41Staggered by the sheer volume of things to do, I thought it's best to get a massage and
08:46retire to the spa.
08:51So nice of you to garnish me.
08:54I hope that's salad dressing.
09:00Namaste. I am in a state of complete relaxation. That's why I've come to the sanctuary where
09:13it's kid-free. Thank you!
09:18Well, I've been fed, I'm hydrated, I've been pampered, and I'm pretty relaxed. I've got
09:31to find someone to thank now.
09:34Hello, Xander. How are you?
09:36I'm well. How are you?
09:37Good, thank you. I'm coming to the end of my trip, actually. This whole trip, I've been
09:41using this little thing. Can you tell me a little bit about it?
09:44The medallion. Well, it's a way that we can personalise your experience. We can find out
09:47what your favourite drinks are, anniversaries, birthdays. We can really make that special
09:51for you.
09:52Okay, pop quiz. What's my favourite drink?
09:53Beer drinker.
09:55How did you know?
09:56It's all on the app.
09:57I've had an amazing time, and I appreciate you and all your staff here, and everything
10:02they've done for us while we've been here. It's time for a cocktail. I'm going to watch
10:05the sunset go down.
10:06Well, enjoy. Thank you so much for coming with us.
10:08There you go, Chrissy. I've learned everything I could about cruise ship living. Luxury lifestyle
10:13achievement officially unlocked.
10:15Mission successful, I'd say. And now that I'm a man of the sea, I don't know if I'll
10:19ever make it on dry land. Next time, hopefully, my family can join me. But until then, I might
10:25need a couple more weeks on this ship just to make sure they'll love it.
10:29Ah.
10:29What a dream. And welcome back to dry land. Hey, great news. Thanks to Princess Cruises,
10:43you are being given the chance to win your very own luxury cruise adventure. Can you imagine?
10:48No need to. Let's have a look.
10:51You could win the ultimate escape thanks to Princess Cruises. Imagine making memories on
10:56a 15-night cruise for two around the stunning South Pacific and New Zealand. There's plenty
11:01of time to relax on the elegant crown princess. Every day brings something new from tropical
11:06islands to world-class dining and entertainment. This incredible opportunity is just a few clicks
11:12away. Don't miss your chance to win. Terms and conditions apply.
11:17Don't forget to enter. You're going to love it. Now, we talk a lot about keeping ourselves healthy
11:25on this show. But what about our pets? We all want our furry friends to live long, happy
11:31lives. The thought of that not happening? Horrific. But let's be honest, those vet bills can really
11:38stack up. Here is how to keep your pets healthy while keeping you wealthy.
11:44Walking your dog every day is fundamental to their physical and mental health. But my number
11:54one pet health tip for dogs and cats takes almost no time and may save you thousands across their
12:00lifetime. It's this, the finger toothbrush. Freddie's just a few months old, which is the perfect time
12:09to get him comfortable with a daily tooth clean. As we know, cleaning your dog's teeth is gold standard
12:15medicine for achieving adequate dental hygiene. The bacterial and calculus buildup on the teeth
12:21has direct access to the bloodstream and in turn, the kidneys, the liver and the heart.
12:28Using a back and forth motion, and he thinks it's a game and a toy.
12:31Freddie, come here, come here. I'm just at the back of his mouth.
12:39This is Kaya, my beautiful eight-year-old golden retriever. And as you can see, she's very well
12:44versed in cleaning her teeth daily. It sounds so simple, but cleaning your dog's teeth daily can save
12:50large amounts of money later in life. Because as we know, a dental scale and polish has to be performed
12:56under a general anaesthetic, which is not only stressful for pets and owners, but they do tend
13:01to cost a lot. So a few other tips. Number two is feeding fresh food because kibble, those brown
13:07pellets, majority of Australians feed is full of carbs and starch. And that buildup of starch sticks to
13:13the teeth. And my third is introduce raw meaty bones for that abrasive force against the teeth to
13:19remove the bacteria.
13:20Caring for a pet is a huge commitment. But there's another, perhaps surprising,
13:26way to keep costs down. And the answer's right here. Vinnies.
13:32Most of us know Vinnies for their second-hand treasures and vintage finds. But to a lot of
13:37families, it's a lifeline. Somewhere that they can pick up those everyday essentials for a fraction of
13:42the price. Something regular op shoppers might not know is Vinnies have their own range. Brand new
13:50products under the name Vinnies own range. Very affordable from bedding to homewares.
13:58And for pet lovers, this section's a hidden gem. Hello, Liz. Hello. I've been using these finger
14:03wipes on my five dogs for the last few months. What are some of the best sellers here? Of course,
14:09you can't go past the doggy poo bags. Literally sell thousands of those a week. We've got the pet glove
14:15wipes and the pet hair removers. Everyone loves those around the house. Amazing. I'm very
14:20impressed. It's an extensive range. Why did Vinnies go into pets? Well, you know what? To be honest,
14:26the customers asked us if we could. We started off with the doggy poo bags and 15 items later,
14:32we've got a fantastic range. And money spent here is important for the whole Vinnies Foundation.
14:37Yeah, so while you're buying for your pet, all the money helps contribute to all the good work of this
14:41society. It just goes to show Vinnies truly has something for everyone, even our four-legged best
14:50friends. After the break, we join my one true love, Brendan the drain man, for some insight on what is
15:00lurking below us. God, no. It's a recipe for disaster. And dive into whether it is worth springing for an
15:07electric vehicle, an EV. If something were to go wrong, it can get very expensive very fast. See you then.
15:13Welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise. Now, here's something you might not know. Cars are my thing.
15:31My dad was a mechanic and I grew up around them and now I drive a hybrid myself because they're the
15:37sexiest cars on the road. But even I have questions about where we're headed. Are the plug-in EVs worth
15:46that? Should I stick with my hybrid? So we've called in our motoring expert, Adam Morris, to break it all
15:52down short, sharp and to the point. G'day, I'm Adam and I am your motoring expert. And you know what?
15:59To EV or not to EV is the big question I get hit with all the time lately. So how about we list out a few
16:05of the pros and cons to work out if an EV is the right fit for you? With an EV, no petrol means lower
16:11running costs. Theoretically, that's right. Because based on a hundred kilometres of distance, an EV is
16:16going to cost you around about $6. A gas guzzling petrol car is going to be more like $18, maybe even
16:21$20. But with an EV, there are far fewer mechanical components, so servicing and maintenance is a whole
16:27lot less. Although in saying that, if something were to go wrong, it can get very expensive very fast.
16:33For example, some battery packs can cost in excess of $15,000. But with an EV, they are zero emissions,
16:40so that means the air quality is going to be fantastic. Although they're not exactly zero
16:45impact on the environment, because just making the batteries, that's extremely resource intensive.
16:50Plus, any environmental benefits you might get can be ruined if you're getting your power from coal or
16:54gas. But being able to plug your car in every night so it's fully charged in the morning, it's just
16:59so convenient. Although for some, especially if you live in an apartment, that might be completely
17:04impossible. And when you combine this with our terrible charging infrastructure, things like
17:08range anxiety and extended charging times, yeah, they're a real thing. Look, overall for many, an EV
17:14makes complete and total sense. Just for plenty of others, it never ever will. For now, just think of
17:20them as another option. You've got petrol, you've got diesel, hybrid and EV. They've all got their pros and
17:25cons. Which one is best for you is going to be your choice. And time. Well done, Adam. It's a personal
17:31best. Hair past a freckle. Next up, we are digging into the mysteries under your home, quite literally.
17:37The Drain Man team know exactly what lurks in your pipes. By the hand movement, it seems like I'm
17:45suggesting it's a snake. It might not be a snake, but it's not always pretty.
17:55Today we've been called out for a blocked kitchen sink that's doing a lot of gurgling.
18:00The gurgle is your Drain's way of singing out saying, I need some help.
18:03Blop, blop, blop, blop, blop, blop, blop, blop. Food scraps, grease, fat, oil, dirty water,
18:09all the things we would see every single day in a blocked kitchen sink. Do you ever pour grease,
18:15oil or milk down the sink? Sometimes, yeah. I use my kitchen sink as the guy that's been here.
18:22All the food waste, it'll go down the drain. No, I don't. Good word. I pour them down the toilet.
18:28Oh no! That's even worse. Food scraps, fat, oil and grease should not be put down your drains.
18:37The waste that goes down the pipes is going to congeal and create a blockage. Put it in a bag,
18:42put it in the bin. Let's get on in. Whatever the problem is, the first thing we do is put a camera
18:48down the drain. Look at that. Big greaseball. I can see some peas. It looks like a bit of pasta.
18:57Coffee grinds, I reckon. We're just going to poke it with the camera for a little bit and see if we can
19:02get through. Let me know if you see any changes in there. Stick at it for a little bit.
19:07It's going to be one of those things where we're either here for 20 minutes or three and a half hours.
19:13Fat doesn't dissolve with water. I would imagine they would clog things up,
19:17but I would imagine also that the oil might smooth things along.
19:22It doesn't.
19:26Just poked through the blockage. I'm starting to see the water level drop now.
19:30You can see it coming through here.
19:31We're looking good out here, Brendan.
19:36The more hot water we put down that now, the better.
19:38If you look after your drains, they're going to look after you. It is all about being proactive.
19:42At least once a fortnight, put the plug in, fill it up with hot water and drop the sinks. In other
19:48words, let the sinks empty and that flushes the drain.
19:51The fat and grease blockages can be some of the toughest blockages to resolve.
19:57We're on our way to the next call out and it sounds like we've got ourselves a fatberg.
20:03I would have turned anyway. That's okay.
20:07A fatberg is an accumulation of fat and grease that captures sanitary items, wipes,
20:13even that it shouldn't be in a sewer. They'll come together and have a big party and create a giant fatberg.
20:24Ah, God no.
20:26You're kidding. It's a recipe for disaster.
20:30Been building up for a long time, Jono.
20:32This is exactly what happens when we don't bag and bin it.
20:35Once the fatberg starts to form, it rapidly increases. It's kind of like a snowball going
20:40down a hill. It creates a humongous stoppage like this and start causing some major dramas.
20:47The high-pressure water that comes out of that lance is breaking up all that fat and greasy waste,
20:53destroying any debris that shouldn't be in the drain.
20:57There's a bit more to go.
20:58Looked like it was just going to be some grease that we could pass out.
21:01Yeah.
21:01But there seems to be a bunch of root section holding down the bottom there.
21:04Yeah. We thought we might have had it, but there's still a lot of fat and grease in there.
21:08Fat's a very difficult thing to claim.
21:12There's brutes and fatty grease deposits that they just can't get to with the direct lance.
21:17The crew's now getting the jet into the drain.
21:20This one looks like it's going to create some challenge.
21:25Let me tell you, it certainly doesn't smell good.
21:27Luckily, smell-o-vision isn't a thing.
21:34Look at that. It's a beautiful sign, isn't it?
21:35Success.
21:39The largest fatberg ever found was in London a few years ago, and it was 130 tonne.
21:44130 tonne?
21:46Huge.
21:46No, it'd stink.
21:47It would stink.
21:48It'd be hard to get out too.
21:51It's clean.
21:54Fantastic. Clean as a whistle.
21:56Another fatberg down the drain.
21:58Great job, guys.
21:58We got it.
21:59Good work. High five.
22:00I'm going to iron.
22:01Do knuckles. I don't want to touch that.
22:03Don't you love the smell of methane in the morning?
22:13Well, that was enlightening and a little unsettling, I'm going to be honest.
22:18And that's why I love the drain man and his team.
22:22Next, an optometrist is here to answer the eye questions you've always squinted at.
22:27If your idea of fun is waking up with red and dry and irritated eyes with possible infection, then go ahead.
22:35And Joel Creasy, who can barely see that far in front of him.
22:40Phrase the box of death.
22:41Stick around.
22:47Healthy, Wealthy and Wise is brought to you by Specsavers.
22:56Welcome back.
22:57Oh, there we go.
23:01Welcome back.
23:02Next up, it is no dumb questions.
23:06None exist.
23:07We have all squinted at something and thought, I wonder if this is normal.
23:13Well, today, we are putting those questions to an optometrist.
23:18Someone that can actually answer them.
23:20No judgement, no eye rolls.
23:23See that?
23:23Take a look.
23:24Look, another word.
23:27My name is Joanne.
23:32I am an optometrist and there are no dumb questions.
23:37Chantal M asks, I can never find the milk in the fridge.
23:41Is it true that you have a blind spot in the middle of your vision?
23:45Yes, everyone does have a natural blind spot where the optic nerve connects,
23:48but your brain's pretty smart and usually fills in the gaps in the images.
23:52If you can't find the milk, though, it's probably just selective attention.
23:56Maybe you should try moving the tomato sauce.
23:59Meena S asks,
24:02Is it really bad to go to sleep wearing contact lenses?
24:05Yes, it's really bad.
24:07If your idea of fun is waking up with red and dry and irritated eyes with a possible infection,
24:14then go ahead.
24:15Just let your eyes breathe overnight.
24:17Your eyes will thank you later.
24:18Fatima A asks, does reading in dim light permanently damage your vision?
24:24It might give you some eye strain or cause you a headache, but it definitely won't cause any permanent damage.
24:31Your mum probably just wanted you to turn on a light or just go to bed really.
24:35Noah V wonders, does 20-20 actually mean perfect vision?
24:40So 20-20 actually just means that you can see what an average person can see about 20 feet away,
24:47but it doesn't actually measure other things like colour vision and depth perception and peripheral awareness.
24:54In Australia, we actually use 6-6 because 20 feet is equivalent to six metres.
24:59Yara C wonders, why does it seem to be men who are colour blind?
25:05The gene for colour vision is found on the X chromosome.
25:09Men only have one X chromosome, so if it's faulty, that's it.
25:13Women have two, so they have a backup.
25:16Michaela S asks, is it true that carrots help your eyesight?
25:20Well, carrots are rich in vitamin A and they can help your vision,
25:23but unfortunately eating a whole bag isn't going to give you night vision or x-ray vision or laser vision.
25:30Sorry.
25:30OK, it is time to sit back, sip a cuppa and enjoy watching someone else completely lose it.
25:43That's right, it's box of death time.
25:51Tonight's guest has lit up comedy festivals and my life in general.
25:57He survived Eurovision and he still is finding sequins in questionable places.
26:04Please welcome my favourite jugglers compared to adopted son,
26:07slash boyfriend, slash husband, slash everything, Joel Creasy.
26:11Hello, beautiful.
26:14Joel, when I knew that this segment was going to happen, yours was the first name.
26:20I was like, please, we've got to get Joel in to do this.
26:22This is the box of death.
26:28You actually have three choices.
26:30That could be something revolting or it could be a bunny.
26:34But it's called the box of death.
26:35So that doesn't really give me a whole heap of faith.
26:38Maybe it's tricking.
26:39Yeah, I don't think there's going to be a little boo-boo in there.
26:41As I said, there are three choices.
26:44There's one.
26:45OK.
26:45You do have two more.
26:46Please turn around and meet Lara.
26:48There you go.
26:49Hi.
26:49Lara is a olive python.
26:52Hi.
26:53Oh.
26:54And that is Henrietta.
26:56She is a golden, she's a golden huntsman, just like the golden bachelor,
27:02but with more legs.
27:02Oh, yeah.
27:04All right.
27:05Probably a longer lifespan.
27:06Exactly.
27:07Oh, you know, Chrissie, you know my fear.
27:10Yes, that's why you're here.
27:13Oh, you piece of that.
27:15That's why you're here.
27:16I'm so excited.
27:17We are going to leave Joel to consider his options in terms of lawyers and managers,
27:24et cetera.
27:25And we're going to join him back here with his decision.
27:27Will he be the box of death?
27:29Will it be the snake?
27:29Will it be the spider?
27:30See you soon.
27:36Yay.
27:36Welcome back to Healthy, Wellbeing and Wise.
27:38I am here with my BFF, Joel Creasy.
27:42He has been given an impossible decision.
27:44And BFF for now, can I add?
27:46For now.
27:47No, excuse me.
27:48It's BFF.
27:48The last F is forever.
27:50Oh, okay.
27:50Okay.
27:51Well, until the box was introduced.
27:53We've already established this.
27:54Now, you've had your time to think about it.
27:57You've got a choice between the snake, and I know you've got a proper phobia.
28:00A proper phobia of snakes.
28:02Um, spider, that's my least favourite option.
28:07Or whatever's in the box of death.
28:08You know, we take our duty of care very, very seriously here at Healthy, Wealthy and Wise.
28:17And if there's something poisonous in there, we do have a professional to suck it out.
28:22I'm not going to do it.
28:22Ash?
28:23Ash?
28:24Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
28:26I'm feeling in safe hands.
28:28Real safe hands.
28:28Look, I'll do the box of death.
28:30It's here.
28:31I love this.
28:32I love it when people choose the box of death.
28:34And if I don't scream hard enough, just whack Lara on me.
28:36Sure.
28:36Done.
28:37Why did I say that?
28:38Everybody welcome.
28:40Mike, also known as Ned Kelly.
28:41Thanks.
28:42It's good to see you up and about.
28:44Oh, what are you?
28:45You ready?
28:45No.
28:46No.
28:46No, I'm not.
28:47This is?
28:48OK.
28:48Oh!
28:48Oh!
28:49Oh!
28:50Oh!
28:50Oh!
28:51Oh!
28:51Oh!
28:52Oh!
28:53Oh my God, Joel, you need to hold this the whole time you're answering questions.
28:59Oh my gosh.
29:00Big deep breath.
29:00That snake, that snake is paler than me.
29:03Oh!
29:04Here we go.
29:04Wait, what's the snake's name?
29:06What's the snake's name?
29:07This is bananas.
29:07Oh, bananas.
29:08Oh, full of potassium.
29:11What's the best way not to annoy you?
29:13I have a proper phobia.
29:14Fantastic.
29:15Great job.
29:16What sort of, I mean, it's not that I...
29:19What sort of snake is bananas?
29:21She's an olive python, she's just an albino.
29:24Aww.
29:25Your time is coming, Creasy's gone.
29:28The clock.
29:29Joel Creasy, you have been called the crown prince of camp.
29:33What happens if you finally go out of being camp?
29:36Um, I don't think it's possible.
29:39I, uh...
29:40Yes, breathe, breathe in through your perfect nose and out through the filler.
29:55So I'm going to ruin your life.
29:57The legendary Joan Rivers was one of your earliest supporters.
30:00Have you ever done a gig where you thought,
30:02thank God Joan Rivers isn't alive to see this?
30:05Yes, recently I did a corporate gig
30:07and stand-up comedy is not like riding a bike.
30:10You need to practise it all the time.
30:11And I went out and did 20 minutes thinking,
30:14oh, I've got this in the bag
30:15and I could not remember any of the punchlines,
30:17much like I cannot remember my name right now.
30:19You were an impressionable teenager
30:21when you first laid eyes on me.
30:24Yes, I was.
30:26On Big Brother.
30:27Yes.
30:28Am I responsible for how fabulous you've become?
30:30You kind of are.
30:31I remember watching...
30:32I told you this the other day.
30:34I remember watching your season of Big Brother
30:35and with my mum, I remember her saying,
30:38that Chrissie, that Chrissie, she's very smart.
30:40We should be voting for her.
30:43Yeah, well, you didn't and I lost, so thanks.
30:45Well, you can second deal with it.
30:46You're doing all right.
30:47I've got a bright orange car, so who's the winner?
30:50We have been called Australia's sassiest duo.
30:53Correct.
30:54Who's doing most of the heavy lifting there, do you reckon?
30:56Me, because I'm holding bananas.
30:58100%.
30:58Next question.
30:59Couldn't agree more.
31:00You have made a grave error
31:03and that is agreeing to do this, but guess what?
31:05What?
31:06It's over.
31:07Joel Creasy.
31:08Well done!
31:12Bananas, I love you.
31:13I think you're fantastic.
31:14Are you going?
31:15What?
31:15I'm going to let you calm down and mop your brow.
31:26In the meantime, we're going to talk about something
31:28that you and I both really, really excel at
31:30and that is money management.
31:34We're so good at that.
31:35Thank God we have Rachel Cole with us
31:37because she knows it all.
31:40Take it away, Rachel.
31:40Hi, I'm Rachel, your money expert
31:43and if you've got a home loan, let me ask you something.
31:46When was the last time you checked your interest rate?
31:49A really great interest rate on a principal
31:50and interest mortgage right now sits at about 5.5%.
31:53So, are you paying too much?
31:56Problem being, loyalty doesn't really pay
31:58when it comes to home loans
31:59because banks tend to look after their new customers
32:02better than their existing customers
32:03and that's what we call the loyalty tax.
32:05So, if it's been over 12 months
32:07since you've had a look at your mortgage,
32:09you could be doing better.
32:10Here's what we can do.
32:11We're going to price your loan.
32:12A simple phone call to your bank.
32:14There's no forms, no fuss, just a phone call
32:16and what you'll find is
32:17most banks are happy to drop your rate
32:19by 0.2% or 0.3% on the spot.
32:22A 0.5% drop on the average mortgage
32:24would save you about $3,000 a year.
32:26I also want you to remember that rate they offer you
32:28because we're going to compare it
32:30to what other banks are offering
32:31and indeed what your bank are offering to new customers
32:33and if it doesn't stack up,
32:35it could be time for refinance
32:36which costs you very little
32:38and can save you thousands every year.
32:40If you do need help with a refinance,
32:41the best way to do it
32:42is to get in touch with a mortgage broker.
32:44What they can do is survey a panel of 20 or 30 lenders
32:47and help you find the best product for you.
32:49They're free to use
32:49and can make refinancing seamless.
32:52Now, here's an extra challenge.
32:53If you have a variable loan,
32:54I want you to make really good use of your offset account,
32:56getting as much money in there as you can
32:58because you get a guaranteed tax-free return
33:00of your interest rate
33:01which is better than most other investments
33:03on the market right now.
33:04So go on, price your loan
33:06and chat to a mortgage broker.
33:07Remember, it's not about taking on more debt.
33:09It's about making sure that the debt you do have
33:11is working as hard for you as possible.
33:14Tips like that are exactly why I agreed to do this show.
33:18In fact, that advice is how I'm getting paid.
33:21Stay right there.
33:22After the break,
33:23we are joining Chica
33:24in a top-to-bottom wardrobe makeover.
33:28There's going to be laughter, tears
33:30and some very serious outfit envy.
33:34See you soon.
33:38Welcome back to Healthy, Wealthy and Wise.
33:41We are nearly at the finishing line.
33:44But before we go,
33:45we have saved one of the absolute best bits for last,
33:50a classic Chica wardrobe makeover.
33:54Now, tell us who we're about to meet.
33:56So we are meeting Sheila
33:57and she is one of the most incredible women.
33:59Every woman we have met has been amazing.
34:01She's just that little bit special.
34:03Like, she's an amazing mum.
34:05She's balancing studying.
34:06She's hoping to become a lawyer.
34:07She's working.
34:08She's just doing a whole lot of things.
34:10Did someone say Erin Brockovich?
34:12Yes.
34:13But she's also, too, a little bit lost
34:16because she doesn't have time to go shopping
34:18and she doesn't feel like she's looking the part.
34:20And she really wanted to have this makeover
34:22to make her feel the way she imagined she should look.
34:25Have the tissues on standby.
34:28Let's take a look at Sheila's journey.
34:30Hi, Sheila.
34:44How are you?
34:45Good, thank you.
34:45I am so excited to meet you.
34:48Same with you.
34:48Thank you for having me.
34:49Oh, thank you for coming.
34:51Are you ready for this?
34:52Yes, I'm so excited.
34:53Are you excited?
34:53Not too nervous?
34:54Oh, well, yeah, I'm nervous.
34:56We're going to go through your clothes.
34:57OK.
34:58Let's go check it out, shall we?
34:59Yes, let's go.
35:00Fantastic.
35:01My name is Sheila.
35:02I'm a mum of two.
35:03I work in a childcare and I'm also studying right now,
35:06working towards going to a law school.
35:09I would want to learn more about mix and match clothings
35:13to, you know, be looking more professional.
35:17So when I get into a corporate world,
35:19I would be more presentable and all that.
35:22OK, let's go.
35:23Let's have a look in this little wardrobe of yours.
35:25Oh, wow.
35:27This is fabulous.
35:28Good size.
35:29Oh, yeah.
35:29Why are we doing this?
35:30That's probably the first question we need to talk about.
35:32I wanted to really learn something about, like, you know, doing some styles.
35:37And is this for work or is this for casual or for going out?
35:40Like, what's your...
35:41Mostly for work now.
35:43What do you do for work?
35:44I'm actually working in an aged care, but I'm also working in human rights and family violence.
35:50Oh, wow.
35:50So I'm focused on that.
35:51Yeah.
35:51OK, that's a pretty extraordinary job that you're doing.
35:53You definitely need this.
35:54You deserve this, I think.
35:55I think we need to spoil you.
35:57And you've got a lot going on in your life.
35:58Tell me a bit about all the things that are happening for you.
36:01The latest that I would wake up in the morning is 5 o'clock, prepare things for my son.
36:07So my son goes to a special development school.
36:10My son was diagnosed for autism.
36:13He is nonverbal and he doesn't really know how to communicate well.
36:17And it's really a very busy day for us.
36:21And I also have a two-year-old daughter who's very cheeky and very talkative and all that.
36:26So I would normally just go along with whatever I can from my wardrobe because I'm a very busy mum.
36:31Whatever I get, that's what I wear.
36:33What I'm seeing here, you've got pops of colour.
36:35You're not really a pattern girl, are you?
36:37So you like sort of more...
36:39Yeah.
36:39Just one colour, block colours, that kind of thing.
36:42This is a great shirt.
36:43Yeah, I wear that to church.
36:45To church?
36:45Oh, my God, we've got church.
36:47We've got school.
36:47We've got work and we've got being a mum at home, running around after two young children.
36:52Okay, there is a lot happening in your life.
36:55This makeover, what I really wanted to achieve is to have a sense of feeling empowered with my style.
37:02And, you know, getting into a room and people will notice me.
37:08Oh, I'm excited.
37:09Yay!
37:09Okay, fantastic.
37:10I've got enough to work on now and we can go and play together at Blue Illusion next week.
37:15Yay!
37:15Yay!
37:17Hello, Sheila.
37:19Hello.
37:19How are you?
37:20So good to see you.
37:22Yes.
37:22You look so cute.
37:23I love your outfit today.
37:24So today we're going to start looking for some outfits for you for the new corporate woman
37:28that you're going to be.
37:29Some busy mum on the go looks and some things that you can easily put together and just some
37:33fun things that are new and different for you.
37:35Okay.
37:35Okay, so shall we go inside and meet Donna and just start looking for some clothes?
37:40Yes.
37:40Let's go.
37:42Sheila, I would absolutely love you to meet Donna.
37:44Welcome.
37:45Welcome to Blue Illusion.
37:46So what we're doing today for Sheila is we're looking for some more corporate outfits,
37:50things that she can put together really easily.
37:51She's a very busy mum.
37:52Corporate dressing.
37:53Power dressing.
37:54Power dressing.
37:54She's a power woman.
37:56Okay, let's begin.
37:56Sheila, what do you think about this paint?
38:02Beautiful with your colouring too.
38:03And then you can wear a little ballet flat, a gorgeous little bag.
38:07Oh my God, look at you.
38:10What do you think if you went into work like that?
38:12I feel like I'm a boss.
38:13Good girl.
38:15Sheila, I was thinking that this was quite a cute dress for you.
38:18Should we give it a go?
38:19There's another dress over there too that I think would look really beautiful.
38:22It's a little bit longer, but I love that colour and I think it'll really make you stand out.
38:26Gorgeous.
38:27I love that colour.
38:28You could also have a little crossover bag if you were sort of running around.
38:32And if you wanted to, we could do a scarf just to add another pop of colour.
38:36You could definitely wear that to work, don't you think?
38:42Now, what else are we thinking?
38:44Polka dot dress.
38:46Yeah?
38:46I think you'd look cute, Matt.
38:48If you don't say no to anything, I'm just going to keep adding to the collection.
38:50And that skirt as well is beautiful.
38:52A little top.
38:53Yes.
38:54Let's have a look.
38:55Oh, look at you.
38:57You could break this skirt and top up with a belt, popping a little blazer.
39:02Again, it just gives it another look.
39:03I'm just loving this look on you.
39:05Yeah, I so love it too.
39:07Like, it's going to suit me going to school.
39:10Yes.
39:11Going to my meetings.
39:12Yes.
39:12Picking up my kids from school.
39:14Yeah.
39:14Yeah.
39:15It's versatile.
39:15You look great.
39:16So professional.
39:17Yeah, very professional.
39:18You can't go wrong with black and white.
39:19All right.
39:20Well, it's time for you now to go get your hair and makeup done.
39:22Being very busy with work and with the kids.
39:26This is the only time that I felt that I'm doing something for myself.
39:30Laila, are you excited to see your sister?
39:32Oh, yes.
39:33She so deserves this, doesn't she?
39:34I'm loving the fact that we got to do this for Sheila today because she's balancing so many things in her life, isn't she?
39:40Very busy.
39:40And she seems to be a beautiful mum.
39:42Oh, yes, she is.
39:43When I was trying all the clothes earlier, I feel so empowered and I was like, oh, this is me.
39:48Like, I feel beautiful and I feel confident about myself.
39:51Okay, I have had a little peek.
39:53Oh, did?
39:53And she looks incredible.
39:54I think you're going to die when you see what she looks like.
39:56Are you ready to come out and show us, Sheila?
40:04Ooh, look at you.
40:06What is she looking for?
40:08That's the reaction we want.
40:10That's what sisters are about.
40:12She looks amazing.
40:14And I'd say your hair looks great too.
40:16Are you correct, too?
40:18We need a tissue.
40:20Here's to you, Sheila.
40:21Yay.
40:21You have been a dream.
40:23You know the time that you feel that you're always, like, say, in your 20s,
40:26you just keep on doing that and you never really realise that you need to change the way that you're dressing up.
40:32So your clothes now match how you feel.
40:34Yes.
40:34I love that.
40:35She's a grown-up.
40:36Yes, I'm a grown-up.
40:37You're a grown-up.
40:40It's been a pleasure.
40:41Go and enjoy.
40:42See ya.
40:47Isn't it amazing, like, the reaction from somebody when somebody goes out of their way for them, cares for them?
40:53Do you know what?
40:54Sheila's sister, her reaction, it was truly so beautiful.
40:57We all got emotional because her tears were genuine and she just said, my sister deserves this more than anybody and I love that she is so happy.
41:05We've both got sisters.
41:06That was special, wasn't it?
41:08That was very moving to watch.
41:09Yeah.
41:10And look, honestly, I feel so privileged that I got to be a part of that because there was something about Sheila that just absolutely, she walked in with a smile on her face and I knew she was covering up a whole lot of other things going on in her life.
41:20But she was so appreciative and I...
41:23What's going on there?
41:24I didn't want to miss out on the conversation.
41:25Oh, my God.
41:26Well, come and join us.
41:28Oh, God.
41:29That is it.
41:32That's us for tonight.
41:33Oh.
41:34It's so sad.
41:36I want to keep on talking so that I can keep you here because I love you both very much but I'm going to have to tag you and release you.
41:41Next week, Vincent Lim cooks up a honey chicken storm.
41:44Better than a Chinese restaurant.
41:47And legendary comedian Shane Jacobson climbs into the box of death.
41:50Is it going to be worse than that?
41:52It's not going to be worse than that, is it?
41:54Don't miss it.
41:55Until then, it's time to relax.
41:57You have done more than enough for today.
42:00See you next week.
