00:00Border czar Tom Homan says he's making some headway to quell the unrest in Minneapolis amid the ongoing immigration crackdown and the subsequent protests.
00:09At a press conference outlining his progress, he didn't pass up the opportunity to throw some shade at the now sidelined Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and former Border Patrol Commander-at-Large Greg Bovino.
00:20I didn't come to Minnesota for photo ops or headlines. You haven't seen me. I came here to seek solutions, and that's what we're going to do.
00:30Homan also admitted the feds haven't carried out their mission in Minnesota perfectly. Another dig? Maybe. Or just pointing out the obvious.
00:39And he said his meeting with local officials produced a great deal of progress.
00:43He noted, after speaking with Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, that county jails may notify ICE of release dates for detainees that present a public safety risk so the agency can take custody of them.
00:55Even with the situation seemingly improving on the ground, Homan made it clear that he still stands firmly with the administration's hawkish stance on illegal immigration and those who try to thwart it,
01:07warning far-left groups that, quote, justice is coming if they obstruct lawful operations.
01:11If you have your First Amendment rights, I support that. You have the right to protest. I'm just asking to keep it peaceful.
01:19But threatening law enforcement officers, engaging in impeding and obstruction and assault is never okay.
01:26And there will be zero tolerance. You interfere, impede, assault and ICE officers, you will be arrested.
01:34Sticking with Minnesota, Senator Amy Klobuchar, currently serving her fourth term on Capitol Hill, has officially applied for a new gig.
01:42Governor.
01:43This has pretty much been the worst kept secret in politics since current Governor Tim Walz, who is mired in statewide fraud scandals, announced that he wouldn't be seeking a third term.
01:53Klobuchar, who had a brief run for president during the 2020 election cycle, immediately became the favorite to win, not just a Democratic primary, but to hold on to the governor's seat for Democrats.
02:04In her announcement, she slammed ICE operations in Minnesota, claiming they were, quote, sent by an administration that relishes division.
02:12She also addressed the ongoing fraud investigation that, in many ways, prompted the surge of federal agents in the state.
02:19I will make sure the people who steal taxpayer money go to jail and root out the fraud by changing the way state government works.
02:27As I said, everyone knew this announcement was coming, but she did push it a few days after the shooting death of Alex Preddy.
02:35Jeffrey Epstein's convicted co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell, is claiming that the late pedophile had 25 other accomplices,
02:44all of whom she says made secret settlements to avoid her fate, a hefty prison sentence.
02:51The fresh claims are part of Maxwell's latest push to have her conviction overturned, which will likely be just as fruitless as her last zillion tries.
03:00Her lawyers made the 25 co-conspirator claim in a December court filing, which has now only come to light.
03:07The court papers also claim that there were four Epstein employees who were never indicted, but were mentioned in a controversial non-prosecution agreement.
03:16The new revelations bring fresh questions about just how much information is still being kept from the public.
03:22The Department of Justice says that it has roped in about 400 lawyers who are working, quote,
03:27around the clock to review over 5 million pages of documents and redact certain information, like victim names.
03:33Earlier this week, the DOJ said in a court filing it will finish reviewing the files, quote, in the near term.
03:39But who knows what that means in practice?
03:42And the department failed to provide a date.
03:44The date we did have was December 19th of last year.
03:47That's when everything was supposed to have been released.
