00:00President Trump's immigration crackdown is finally coming to a close in Minnesota.
00:05Border czar Tom Holman announced the official end of the ice surge in the state.
00:10Holman was sent to Minneapolis to calm unrest after the deaths of both Renee Good and Alex
00:15Preddy at the hands of federal agents and ensure the successful resolution of President
00:20Trump's goals as it's related to the ice surge.
00:23With that and success that has been made arresting public safety threats and other
00:27priorities since this surge operation began, as well as the unprecedented levels of coordination
00:32we have obtained from state officials and local law enforcement, I have proposed and
00:38President Trump has concurred that this surge operation conclude.
00:41He said the drawdown began this week and will continue next week, though a small federal
00:47footprint will remain in the state for, quote, a little while.
00:50Now, Holman says the two-month surge in the area resulted in more than 4,000 arrests and
00:55the recovery of over 3,300 unaccompanied migrant children.
00:59Now, he faulted the Biden administration for losing those kids and not looking for them.
01:04At the height of the operation, over 3,000 ICE and Border Patrol agents swarmed Minneapolis,
01:11prompting protests, both peaceful and violent, for weeks.
01:15We're learning more about Jesse Van Rootsalar, the trans shooter who took the lives of eight
01:20people and injured dozens more before committing suicide in the remote Canadian town of Tumblr
01:26Ridge.
01:26Van Rootsalar aired apparent grievances about transitioning from male to female, as well
01:32as displayed an obsession with guns in a bunch of online posts over the last few years.
01:38In one trans community forum, the would-be shooter asked in a since-deleted post if he
01:43had a, quote, good build type for hormone replacement therapy.
01:46In another, he bemoaned the fact that he was six feet tall and expressed his desire to be
01:52petite and small.
01:53The shooter was also an active poster on forums discussing drugs.
01:57Van Rootsalar asks about the very strong hallucinogen nicknamed toad venom and admits to taking
02:02both legal and illegal drugs from other hallucinogens, like N and NDMT, as well as prescriptions like
02:08Zoloft, claiming that he has been diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, major depressive disorder, and autism
02:14spectrum disorder.
02:15Two of Van Rootsalar's eight victims included his 11-year-old stepbrother and his mother,
02:19Jennifer Strang.
02:20Strang self-described as a conservative-leaning libertarian and on at least one occasion took
02:26to social media to defend trans rights and blast critics, posting in part, quote,
02:30Do you have any idea how many kids are killing themselves over this kind of hate?
02:34Please stop the bullshit.
02:36Police are still investigating the case and don't yet have a motive for Van Rootsalar's
02:40rampage.
02:40And when asked if it was connected to the shooter's transitioning, cops said it was too
02:44early to tell.
02:45Authorities are also beginning to release the names of a few of the victims of his massacre,
02:50including 12-year-old Kylie Mae Smith, Abel Mwansa Jr., who was also 12 years old, and 13-year-old
02:57hockey player Ezekiel Schofield.
03:00Authorities are looking to question a man seen in newly surfaced surveillance videos recorded
03:05just a short distance from Nancy Guthrie's home.
03:08In a video clip obtained by TMZ, a man wearing a backpack can be seen trying to toss a second
03:14bag over a brick wall.
03:16The footage was taken five miles from Nancy Guthrie's home at 1.53 a.m. the morning of
03:22her disappearance.
03:22And the backpack or backpacks are key here because the FBI has released an official description
03:28of the man seen in that video taken by Guthrie's doorbell cam.
03:32The feds say it is a man who is either 5'9 or 5'10 and that his backpack is
03:37a black 25-liter
03:39Ozark Trail hiker pack.
03:41They also upped the reward for information to $100,000.
03:45Now, on top of these developments, another chilling ransom note arrived in the inbox of
03:51celebrity site TMZ.
03:52The outlet got a third note purportedly from the same ransomware who'd sent a note on Wednesday
03:58asking for a single Bitcoin, or about $67,000, in order to give them information about the
04:04actual kidnapper.
04:05In the most recent message, the ransomware complained about, quote, not being taken seriously.
04:11They say they want the Bitcoin so that they can lie low after revealing the kidnapper amid
04:16fears of retaliation.
04:18TMZ boss Harvey Levin also said, without offering details, that the writer of the letter makes
04:23clear that the situation changed between Wednesday and Thursday, whatever that means.
04:29Now, as for the investigation, authorities sent out an alert to all users of the Neighbors
04:34app within a two-mile radius of Nancy's home.
04:37They want all video from security or vehicle cameras in the area between January 1st and February
04:422nd, one day after Nancy's disappearance.
04:45Authorities also confirmed that they've recovered several pieces of potential evidence, including
04:50multiple gloves.
04:52Yesterday, investigators briefly put up a white tent at the front entrance to Nancy's home,
04:56and when it was taken down, observers noted that the bracket that held that doorbell camera,
05:01the one that captured the eerie footage of the masked man on her porch, had been removed.
05:06And finally, let's not forget the human toll.
05:09A family has been basically tortured by this ordeal.
05:13Nancy's daughter, Savannah Guthrie, posted a heartbreaking home video on her Instagram
05:17showing her mom with Savannah and her siblings when they were little.
05:21The silent video begins with Savannah and her sister Annie in matching dresses,
05:25bringing Nancy flowers near a garden.
05:27The video then cuts to a black and white still photo of Nancy Guthrie surrounded by her children.
05:32Savannah, the youngest of the three, appears to be about a year old.
