00:00Borders are Tom Homan says he's making some headway to quell the unrest in Minneapolis
00:04amid the ongoing immigration crackdown and the subsequent protests.
00:08At a press conference outlining his progress, he didn't pass up the opportunity to throw some shade
00:13at the now sidelined Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and former Border Patrol commander
00:19at large Greg Bovino. I didn't come to Minnesota for photo ops or headlines. You haven't seen me.
00:26I came here to seek solutions, and that's what we're going to do.
00:30Homan also admitted the feds haven't carried out their mission in Minnesota perfectly.
00:35Another dig? Maybe. We're just pointing out the obvious. And he said his meeting with local
00:41officials produced a great deal of progress. He noted after speaking with Minnesota Attorney
00:46General Keith Ellison that county jails may notify ICE of release dates for detainees that present
00:51a public safety risk so the agency can take custody of them. Even with the situation seemingly
00:57improving on the ground, Homan made it clear that he still stands firmly with the administration's
01:02hawkish stance on illegal immigration and those who try to thwart it, warning far-left groups that
01:08quote, justice is coming if they obstruct lawful operations.
01:11If you have your First Amendment rights, I support that. You have the right to protest.
01:16I'm just asking to keep it peaceful. But threatening law enforcement officers, engaging in impeding
01:23and obstruction and assault is never okay. And there will be zero tolerance. You interfere,
01:29impede, assault and ICE officers, you will be arrested.
