00:00Another governor being called to the mat over fraud, Minnesota Governor Tim Walls.
00:04He was on Capitol Hill yesterday getting grilled by the House Oversight Committee.
00:08And things got testy, especially when Congressman Jim Jordan was up to bat.
00:13Let me set the stage here.
00:14Jordan was asking Walls about Feeding the Future, a group we now know was a charity scam that built $250
00:20million in taxpayer money.
00:22The congressman says Walls falsely claimed that a court required him to restart payments to the charity even after they
00:29were frozen due to fraud suspicions.
00:32Somebody's lying because you can't say the court ordered you to restart the payments and then the court says we
00:37didn't order you to restart the payments.
00:38So either you're lying or the court's lying.
00:41And I'm just asking you, which one is it?
00:44I just simply know what the attorneys at the agency believe that it was a misinterpretation.
00:48And I would note that you were trying to hide behind the court, Governor.
00:52From there, things pretty much went nowhere.
00:55Jordan continued to press the governor, who defaulted again to his attorney's misinterpretation defense.
